WASHINGTON, D.C. Broner and Mayweather, who promotes Theophane, have been engaged in a war of words throughout the promotion. Broner challenged the 11-time world champion immediately following his victory.
“I’m a man, but at the end of the day, somebody that I look up to, someone that I admire took the chance to do an interview and talk bad about me. I’m a man – Floyd has got to see me.
“I come from nothing. I’m talking about water and Cornflakes. And I would never let a man disrespect me like that. So you gotta see me. I don’t care if we’re sparring or if we’re fighting, let’s get it on.
Mayweather did not address the comments.

Mendez got up from the knocked down but was unable to continue, forcing the referee to stop the contest.

Davis, who pressed the action throughout the fight while the combatants engaged in many competitive exchanges, showed off his emerging talent as a multi-dimensional young pugilist.
The fight’s action picked up in the fourth when one of Davis’s punches caused a cut underneath Avila’s left eye. Davis continued his assault in the fifth when he landed a straight left hand to send Avila to the canvas. In the sixth and final round Davis came out of his corner and immediately jumped on his opponent causing the referee to halt the action.
“I knew he was a strong opponent. He kept bouncing back and I actually thought he was going to get up at the end too. He is very experienced and I thank him for taking the fight. He brought out the best in me.
“There is always room to get better and better, but this is another step toward my dream. I’m happy with my performance and it is even more special to have done it where I made my pro debut, so close to home.
“I’m happy I could get this victory for my team, Floyd Mayweather and everyone that supports me.”
“We prepared really well and think we did well,” said Avila “The cut came from a head-butt which complicated the situation for me as it didn’t let me see properly from that point forward. But it is what it is -he won. He’s good, and he hits hard.
“I appreciate everyone who was supporting me and my team. This is not the end of my career. I’m young and this is the type of sport where you just have to bounce back. We’re going to move on with our head up. There’s no other choice.”

Another rising prospect at just 21-years-old, Harris has stayed busy since turning pro in June 2014 with a first-round stoppage of George Palmer. Most recently the Hyattsville, Maryland born fighter picked up victories over Irvin Hernandez, Rafael Vazquez, Carlos Acevedo and Sean Lockhart in 2015.
Laurier, Maryland’s Nicholson is another prospect that has been keeping busy since turning pro and will look for another great performance in front of a friendly D.C. menigte. The 23-year-old impressively stopped veteran Milton Nunez in the first round of their October 2015 gevecht.

“Training is geweldig gegaan en ik ben super gemotiveerd,” Said Maicelo.
Hij weet dat hij zal vechten een stoere vent in Bennett en heeft lof voor de Cincinnati inheemse.
“Ik heb respect voor elke vechter. Ik heb een paar van zijn gevechten in de tape gezien en hij is een goede vechter uit wat ik zie. Met dat gezegd zijnde, Ik ben de betere vechter en op vrijdag, Ik zal bewijzen dat.”
Maicelo goede strijd gestreden tegen Perez, maar kwam net niet. He is taking the positives of that experience which will be a big factor in the fight on Friday night.

Brandon Bennett neemt Jonathan Maicelo in de 10-round main event deze vrijdagavond bij Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC

Washington, DC (Augustus 25, 2015) Deze vrijdagavond, Augustus 28 het Walter E. Washington Convention Center in de hoofdstad van Washington van de natie, DC, King's Promotions zal een spectaculaire nacht van boksen, dat een aantal van de beste talent zal beschikken in de Verenigde Staten te presenteren.

In het main event, Brandon Bennett (19-1, 8 KO's) zal af plein met voormalig wereldkampioen titel uitdager Jonathan Maicelo (21-2, 12 KO's) in een lichtgewicht bout gepland voor 10 ronden.

Bennett van Cincinnati, Ohio heeft hard trainen voor Maicelo, die heeft uitgedaagd voor een interim-wereldtitel.

“Training is goed geweest. I is op gewicht voor een paar dagen. Het is geweest 2 harde maanden, maar het moeilijkste deel van de training en dieet is voorbij en ik ben klaar om te vechten,” Said Bennett.

Toen hem werd gevraagd over Maicelo, Bennett was niet bezig met zijn tegenstander, ondanks Maicelo met wint over kunst Hovhannisyan en voormalig wereldkampioen titel uitdager Fernando Angulo.

“Hij is een orthodoxe vechter. Hij houdt ervan om binnen te komen en hij houdt van punch tegen te gaan. Hij kan hebben gestreden voor de titel, maar ik ben de meer ervaren vechter. Ik heb goede jongens gevochten en ik de beste sparring. Dat alles maakt niet uit, want aan het eind van de dag, we moeten vechten. ”

Bennett beseft dat een overwinning op Maicelo zal duwen hem heel dicht bij een strijd voor een wereld titel en een overwinning op vrijdag hem nog een kwaliteit winnen toe te voegen aan zijn CV zal geven.

“Hopelijk in de volgende gevecht of twee, Ik zal in de positie. Hem verslaan had me moeten beschouwd als een top mededinger.”

“Ik stapte in het boksen op de leeftijd van acht. Ik was een voetballer. Rau'shee woonde in de straat van mij en vroeg me om te lopen naar de sportschool met hem. Hij had al boksen en Mike Stafford vroeg ons om te sparren. Hij kreeg het beste van mij die dag, maar ik vast mee. Ironisch, Adrien kwam de volgende dag en begon boksen de volgende dag en Rau'shee sparred met hem ook. Het gezelschap van hen is zeker een bron van inspiratie. Ik zie wat mijn vrienden hebben gedaan en bereikt en ik weet dat ik zal naast die lofbetuigingen te hebben.”
