Broner and Mayweather, who promotes Theophane, have been engaged in a war of words throughout the promotion. Broner challenged the 11-time world champion immediately following his victory.
“I’m a man, but at the end of the day, somebody that I look up to, someone that I admire took the chance to do an interview and talk bad about me. I’m a man – Floyd has got to see me.
“I come from nothing. I’m talking about water and Cornflakes. And I would never let a man disrespect me like that. So you gotta see me. I don’t care if we’re sparring or if we’re fighting, let’s get it on.
Mayweather did not address the comments.
In the co-feature bout of the night, imbattuto Robert Pasqua Jr. (17-0, 14 KO) showed why he’s a rising star with a devastating KO at 2:43 nel 5th round over former world champion Mendez algenis (23-4-1, 12 KO) in a lightweight fight that finished with the crowd on their feet. Mendez got up from the knocked down but was unable to continue, forcing the referee to stop the contest.

“There is always room to get better and better, but this is another step toward my dream. I’m happy with my performance and it is even more special to have done it where I made my pro debut, so close to home.
“I’m happy I could get this victory for my team, Floyd Mayweather and everyone that supports me.”
“We prepared really well and think we did well,” said Avila “The cut came from a head-butt which complicated the situation for me as it didn’t let me see properly from that point forward. But it is what it is -he won. He’s good, and he hits hard.
“I appreciate everyone who was supporting me and my team. This is not the end of my career. I’m young and this is the type of sport where you just have to bounce back. We’re going to move on with our head up. There’s no other choice.”

Another rising prospect at just 21-years-old, Harris has stayed busy since turning pro in June 2014 with a first-round stoppage of George Palmer. Most recently the Hyattsville, Maryland born fighter picked up victories over Irvin Hernandez, Rafael Vazquez, Carlos Acevedo and Sean Lockhart in 2015.
Alloro, Maryland’s Nicholson is another prospect that has been keeping busy since turning pro and will look for another great performance in front of a friendly D.C. crowd. The 23-year-old impressively stopped veteran Milton Nunez in the first round of their October 2015 lotta.

Brandon Bennett assume Jonathan Maicelo in 10 round evento principale questo Venerdì sera al Walter E. Washington Convention Center di Washington, DC

Washington, DC (Agosto 25, 2015) Questo Venerdì sera, Agosto 28 presso il Walter E. Washington Convention Center di capitale della nazione di Washington, DC, Re Promozioni presenterà una serata spettacolare di boxe che sarà caratterizzato da alcuni dei migliori talenti negli Stati Uniti.

Nel main event, Brandon Bennett (19-1, 8 KO) si piazza off con l'ex sfidante titolo mondiale Jonathan Maicelo (21-2, 12 KO) in un incontro leggero previsto per 10-round.

Bennett di Cincinnati, Ohio si è allenato duramente per Maicelo, che ha sfidato per un titolo ad interim mondo.

“La formazione è stata buona. Sono stato su peso per alcuni giorni. È stato 2 mesi duri, ma la parte difficile della formazione e la dieta è finita e io sono pronto a combattere,” Ha detto Bennett.

Alla domanda su Maicelo, Bennett non era preoccupato con il suo avversario, nonostante Maicelo avendo vittorie Arte Hovhannisyan e l'ex sfidante titolo mondiale Fernando Angulo.

“Lui è un combattente ortodosso. Gli piace entrare e gli piace Counter Punch. Egli può aver combattuto per il titolo, ma io sono il combattente più esperto. “Speriamo che nella lotta prossimi uno o due, Sarò in posizione. Picchiarlo avrebbe dovuto me considerato un concorrente superiore.”

Ironicamente, Adrien è arrivato il giorno dopo e ha iniziato la boxe il giorno successivo e Rau'shee sparred con lui pure. Essere intorno a loro è sicuramente una fonte d'ispirazione. Vedo quello che i miei amici hanno fatto e ha raggiunto e so io sarò accanto a avere quei riconoscimenti.”
