Derrick Webster to Oscar RiojasYou do not belong in the same ring as me

Webster – Riojas battle for ABF Super Middleweight title Vendredi night at The Claridge Hotel
Atlantic City Hall of Fame Weekend card to display Isiah Seldon in co-feature against Lamar Harris
Plus undefeated James Wilkins, Emmanauel Rodriguez, Lester Brown and Felix Manzuetta

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Mai 31, 2018)–Super Middleweight contender Derrick “Take It To The Bank” Webster (25-1, 13 KOs) feels the time is now to take on the big boys of the division, but in order to secure a bout with a top contender or champion, he first must get by Oscar Riojas (16-9-1, 5 KOs) de Monterrey, Mexico in the 10-round main event ce vendredi soir à Le Claridge Hôtel.

Webster de Glassboro, New Jersey has been working hard in the gym as he prepares for this most important bout.

I have had an amazing camp, I have been getting great work and seeing different looks,” dit Webster, who has been working under the guidance of his long-time trainer Denny Brown.

In Riojas, he is facing a battle-tested veteran who has taken on seven undefeated opponents as well as 2 prétendants au titre mondial.

I know he has fought Brandon Robinson. Robinson is a close friend to me, and what I saw in that fight is that Robinson hit him with some good shots, and I don’t know how he withstood them. Riojas came in after another opponent fell out for me. The funny thing is that he thinks that he can beat me, but on June 1st, he will know that he does not belong in the same ring as me.

Webster has been looking for a signature fight in the suddenly hot 168-pound division, and after this fight on Friday, Webster will be looking to make his mark.

I am ranked number-5 in the USBA, so maybe someone for that belt or the NABF. I have to fight for the bigger regional titles as a pathway to the world championship. I have been asking for Groves after he gets done with the WBSS Tournament or WBA champion Tyrin Zeuge. I would also like to take on WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez.

This is a special weekend for Atlantic City Boxing as the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of fame will have it’s 2nd induction weekend, and may of the legends of the sport will be in attendance to watch Webster fight.

‘It means everything to me to be competing on this weekend. It’s great to fight in front of the legends of the sport. This last year has been rough, as I have been going through a bad situation in my personal life, but I have to thank Mis Downing, Roy Jones Jr., Ray McCline and my trainer Denny Brown to have helped me get through this. L'année dernière, I had to choose my relationship, and then I lost it, but it opened up a door to get with Mis Downing Promotions and Ray McCline. It has helped me become 3-times the person. It has helped me in my acting career and my boxing career. Now is the time to show the world who Derrick Webster really is.

Brooker was very solid throughout as he tried to work on in the inside. Dans la troisième manche, he landed a perfect left hook that drove Riojas into the ropes. Brooker worked inside and was the busier man throughout the contest.

Jérôme Conquest put in a solid six-rounds in winning a unanimous decision over Daniel Perales in a super lightweight bout.

McNutt gathered himself and had a solid round two. Orapeza took control again in round four, as he scored a hard knockdown and seemed seconds away from finishing the fight. He may have punched himself out as in the last 45 seconds of the bout, McNutt battered and staggered Oarapeza all over the ring. McNutt of Battle Creek, MI est 1-3.

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE

Philadelphie, Pennsylvanie. (Mai 4, 2017) – Christopher Brooker (11-3, 5 KO)va prendre Oscar Riojas (14-7-1, 4 KO) sur Vendredi, May 12th à la cabane à sucre Casino.

The scheduled eight-round super middleweight bout will headline a card promoted by King’s Promotions.

Brooker was summoned to San Diego to help Canelo Alavrez prepare for Samedi mega showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr that will take place in Las Vegas.
Being that Brooker is a strong super middleweight, and Chavez having a similar build, it made sense that Brooker would get such a call to help out the Mexican Idol for the much anticipated showdown.
I went to camp with Canelo in San Diego, and we ran in the mountains at 15,000 pieds. I was there close to two weeks and sparred twenty rounds with him,” said Brooker.
It was a great experience to be around a fighter who is one of the elite fighters in the world. He is so composed. I was brought into to pressure him and mimic Chavez, Jr. Canelo is such an experienced fighter, and I learned so much from him. He was showing me how to set up my shots, and even certain exercises with my neck.
Brooker was very impressed with the whole team, and believes that this camp will take him to the next level.
His team is so professional and down to earth. I am looking forward to this fight Samedi. Ce sera un bon combat. I was shocked to know that Canelo watched my last fight on ShoBox. They could tell that I was trying to box more and get a way from my brawling style that I had employed in most of my bouts. They gave me good advice, and told me not to change who I was when I was having a lot of success as a pressure fighter, and then to mix in the boxing aspect to my game.
I needed this. This will take my to another level.
Also in a six-round bout:
Blake Mansfield (5-0-1, 2 KO) de Burlington, NC se battra Henry Beckford (4-6, 1 KO) of Coram, NY in a super middleweight bout.
