Elite Prospect Michael Dutchover Highlights “Path to Glory” Undercard Friday Night

ORANJE, Calif. (Juni 20, 2017) – Junior lichtgewicht Michael Dutchover (4-0, 4 KO), een zeer talentvolle amateur en recent werd professional, highlights Vrijdag overnachting “Path to Glory” undercard van de Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

Nederlands Over, die traint in Zuid-Californië, maar woont in Midland, Tex., geconfronteerd met zijn zwaarste tegenstander tot nu toe: eenmaal geslagen Miguel Carrizoza (10-1, 2 KO) van Hermosillo, Mex.
De bout markeert Dutchover tweede 6-round strijd van zijn jonge carrière. Hij stormde de betaalde rangen met vier rechte knock-out wint.
“Het plan dit jaar is om mijn niveau van de concurrentie,” Said Dutchover, die onlangs sparred met wereldkampioen titel uitdager Petr Petrov. “Ik weet dat ik ben klaar voor de uitdaging. Ik wil op mijn manier te werken aan de top, en om dat te doen ik nodig om mezelf uit te dagen.”
Dutchover had een succesvolle amateur-run die hem zag winnen van negen nationale titels, een bronzen op de 2015 U.S. Olympische Trials, en een runner-up finish op vorig jaar de Nationale Golden Gloves competitie. Nederlands Over, 19, gelooft dat hij werd gebouwd om professioneel te vechten.
“Als amateur, Ik vaak verpakt zijn in de pro-stijl,” Said Dutchover, die telt Danny Zamora, oudere broer Junior Dutchover, en Javier Gomez als coach. “Ik heb niet echt gooien veel quick, kleine stoten die de amateurs definiëren. Ik was agressiever in mijn benadering. Ik werkte het lichaam en gooide een hoop power shots.”
Gedetailleerde tegenstander scouting verslagen in de eerste jaren van de professionele carrière van een bokser zijn vaak niet beschikbaar. Dutchover heeft een idee van wat te verwachten van Carrizoza, maar hij zal vooral een beroep doen op zijn uitgebreide amateur achtergrond.
“Ik had zo'n lange amateur-carrière dat ik in principe elke stijl hebben gezien in het boek,” Said Dutchover, die wordt bevorderd door Banner Promoties en Thompson Boksen. “Ik ga aan te passen in de ring en worden voorbereid op wat hij brengt. Ik had een uitstekende trainingskamp. Ik ben in grote vorm en klaar om te gaan na de andere overwinning.”
“We kijken ernaar uit om Micheal intensivering van de concurrentie op vrijdag nacht,” zei Matthew Rowland, Vice-voorzitter van Banner Promotions. “Michael heeft laten zien dat hij klaar is voor deze uitdaging, en we verwachten nog een geweldige prestatie.”

Ruben Villa to Test Unbeaten Record on “Nieuw bloed” Undercard Friday Night

ORANJE, Calif. (Mei 17, 2017) – Blue chip featherweight prospect Ruben Villa (5-0, 3 KO) headlines an action-packed “Nieuw bloed” undercard when he puts his undefeated record on the line against Anthony de Jesus Ruiz (2-2, 2 KO) dit Vrijdag, Mei 19, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.
Thompson Boxing’s 17 year anniversary show will be live streamed on its website en Facebook Levende vanaf 7:45 p.m. PDT deze vrijdag.

Vrijdag bout marks the fourth time Villa will fight in front of an expected sold out crowd at the Doubletree Ontario. It will be his first, echter, fighting on a live streamed show.
“I’m definitely excited for it. It’s great exposure for us new guys trying to make a name for ourselves,” zei Villa, die wordt bevorderd door Banner Promoties en Thompson Boksen. “I know a lot of my friends and family will be watching. It also gives an opportunity for boxing fans all over the country to tune in and watch some quality fights.”
Villa, a southpaw, is coming off his East Coast debut in April where we notched his third career knockout win over the previously unbeaten Luis Diaz Torres. Villa stopped the stiff-chinned Torres in the sixth and final round. It was the first, sixth round fight of Villa’s career, one that tough him several impactful lessons.
“It’s important to stick to the plan and listen to my corner,” said the 20-year-old, who hails from Salinas, Calif. “He was somewhat reckless so I needed to show a little more patience with him. I’m used to fighting guys who are a little more technical. Diaz was able to take a shot. He was willing to absorb two or three punches to set up one of his own. I learned not to give him those opportunities.”
Voor Vrijdag six-round bout versus Ruiz, Villa spent most of his training camp sparring at the Robert Garcia Gym in Riverside, widely seen as one of Southern California’s most boxing rich environments. His chief sparring partner was Hector Tanajara, another highly regarded prospect with an undefeated record.
“Trainingskamp ging geweldig,” zei Villa, who as an amateur won back-to-back National Golden Gloves championships. “I had quality sparring sessions against Hector Tanajara. He fights one division higher than me so it’s always good to learn from guys that are naturally bigger than you.”
While Villa comes from a well-rounded amateur career that saw him bank two wins against fellow high ceiling prospect Shakur Stevenson, the Northern California native is always on the quest to better his skills.
“I’ve been working on using more angles to set up punches,” Villa zei. “The goal is to develop better range with my jab so I can be more effective. With Ruiz, I plan to feel him out for the first round and then I’ll start going at his weaknesses. A lot of what I plan to do will come off the jab.”
The live stream, getiteld “TB Presents: Nieuw bloed,” will be anchored by blow-by-blow announcer Beto Duran with Steve Kim providing expert color commentary.

Lee Baxter Promotions Card Postponed; McGuinness and Miljas to fight October 28

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Oktober 25, 2016) – Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lee Baxter Promotions’ card scheduled for Donderdag evening at the Powerade Center in Brampton, Ontario has been postponed until further notice.

Two of Baxter’s fighters scheduled to appear on that card, 130 pound contender Logan “Cotton” McGuinness and heavyweight prospect Mladen “Monster” Miljas, will now fight Oktober 28 at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

A former NABA champion at 126, 130 en 135 pond, McGuinness signed with Lee Baxter Promotions in July. McGuinness, 23-0-1 (10 KO's), is fighting for the first since May 2015 and meets Noel Rincon, 18-9-1 (10 KO's), of Mexico over eight rounds. Met een overwinning, the 29-year-old Ontario native hopes to get back in the mix.

Known as “Monster” due to his crushing power and impressive physical stature, Miljas looks to go 2-0 as a pro when he challenges Mexican Adrian Garcia, 1-1 (1 KO), in een vier ronder.

“”I’m glad I was able to keep Logan and Mladen fighting even after our card was postponed,” said Lee Baxter. “The card will be rescheduled in the near future but in the meantime it’s important to keep my fighters busy. Logan’s been very sharp in training and Mladen has the look of a good heavyweight prospect based on what we saw in his pro debut.”

Baxter, who is growing his stable of talented boxers, also looks forward to the career changing opportunity his fighter Samuel Vargas has when he faces unbeaten Danny GarciaNovember 12.

“We’ve got a lot of nice things on the horizon and I believe that Sammy is going to surprise a lot of people. His trainers know everything there is to be known about Garcia and Team Vargas was thrilled when we heard he accepted the fight.

Lee Baxter Promotions Inks Logan McGuinness

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Augustus 3, 2016) – Toronto-based Lee Baxter Promotions is proud to announce the signing of undefeated super featherweight contender Logan “Cotton” McGuinness to an exclusive promotional agreement.

Living and fighting out of Orangeville, Ontario, McGuinness has an outstanding 23-0-1 professionele grootboek met 10 victories coming by knockout. The 29-year-old McGuinness is a former WBA-NABA champion at 126, 130 en 135 pond, earning NABA Fighter of the Year in 2011.

Formerly ranked number 4 in the world by the WBA, McGuinness has been inactive since May 2015 due to out of the ring issues and is excited to get back in the squared circle.

McGuinness said of his new promotional agreement and return to fighting in Canada “it feels great to have signed with Lee Baxter and this is something I feel has been a long time coming. I think the two of us will make some noise and do big things together. I have had an unfortunate couple of years as anyone who has followed my career understands but I’m a true believer in things happening for a reason and everything seems to be falling into place. Baxter, a longtime fixture in the Canadian boxing scene who recently created the “Next Generation” fight series, is thrilled to be working with a longtime friend who he believes has a bright future ahead of him.

Irish Heavyweight Sensation Con Sheenan to fight July 28

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Juni 15, 2016) – Six-time Irish amateur champion Cornelius “Con” Sheehan is set to make his Canadian debut against an opponent to be named Donderdag, Juli 28 at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Ontario.

The bout takes place as part of Lee Baxter Promotions’ “The Next Generation.” Tickets priced at $45, $55 en $65 are available now by calling 416-797-3375. Deuren open om 6:30 pm and the opening bell is scheduled for 7:30.

“I’m looking forward to putting on a great show,” said Sheenan. “I plan to make a big statement on the 28th."

Born and raised in Tipperary, Ierland, Sheenan made his pro debutJanuari 19 in Los Angeles, ZOALS, outpointing previously unbeaten Jonathan Rice over four rounds. Since the victory, the 6’5 215 pound 27-year-old has been working hard in the gym and was recently in camp with heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Sheenan, who had an incredible 203-18 amateur-record, won six Irish National Senior Division titles and captured 13 total championships. In 2008, he became the youngest ever heavyweight champion in Irish history at age 18.

“Con Sheenan is a hidden gem who will soon explode onto the heavyweight scene,” said Sheenan’s manager Gary Hyde of Nowhere2Hyde Management. “Con has an extensive amateur pedigree where he won multiple Irish national titles as well as a European Union title. He’s got a very fluid style but loves nothing more than going into the trenches, so he’s an extremely exciting fighter. In a few years, he’ll be right in the mix.”

Baxter is looking forward to showcasing Con on his card and believes he’s got a bright future.

DOMINIC “PROBLEMEN” Breazeale terug naar de ring op 7 maart in MGM Grand Arena

Hoogland, Californië (Februari 12, 2015) -Top U.S. Zwaargewicht vooruitzicht Dominic “Moeite” Breazeale (13-0, 12 KO's) terug naar de ring volgende maand in één van de meest verwachte boxing gebeurtenissen van het jaar. De “Premier Boxing Champions” serie start haar inaugurele serie Maart 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada op prime-time NBC, en Breazeale is gepland om te worden vermeld op de onder-kaart van de Thurman vs. Guerrero en Broner vs. Molina Jr. main-events.

De laatste keer dat Breazeale werd tentoongesteld op NBC is toen hij deelnam aan de 2012 Spelen van Londen die de Verenigde Staten van Amerika in de divisie Super Heavyweight. Breazeale, die is vers van een eerste ronde knock-out van zijn tegenstander afgelopen december, is klaar om terug te keren naar de ring en is dankbaar voor een deel van de geschiedenis met de bokssport terugkeer naar prime-time televisie zijn.
