Burroughs, Oliver win Super Matches and USA takes nine wins at Beat the Streets Benefit in Pier 17

NEW YORK, N.Y.. – It rained all week, until this afternoon, and the weather was perfect for the Beat the Streets Benefit at Pier 17 in the Seaport District of Lower Manhattan tonight. The United States showed up with an impressive effort, claiming nine of the 11 international matches in front of the amazing New York skyline.

In the Main Event “Super Match,” Olympic champion and four-time World champion Jordan Burroughs of the USA powered back from trailing 4-0 with a strong second period to defeat two-time Frank Chamizo of Italy, 8-5.

In the other Super Match, American star Jordan Oliver won a 3-3 criteria victory over 2012 Olympic champion Toghrul Asgarov of Azerbaijan.

Other U.S. winners were Tamyra Stock (Women’s 68 kg), James Green (Men’s 70 kg), Kyle Dake (Men’s 79 kg), J’den Cox (Men’s 92 kg), Kyle Snyder (Men’s 97 kg), Nick Gwiazdowski (Men’s 125 kg) and Helen Maroulis (Women’s 57 kg).

The fight will take place at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. The fight will be televised live on HBO at 10:00 p.m. EN.

 

 

 

“We will have a lot of activity this Saturday from the WBO. You have to pay close attention to the performance of the huge puncher Jaime Munguía, who will face a good attacker like Ali. In Latvia, three WBO International titles will be in play in 12-round duels in an evening at the Riga Arena. For the vacant International junior middleweight belt, the 13th ranked Ismail Iliev (10-0-1, 3 KO's) of Nazran, Russia will face Konstantin Ponomarev (33-0, 13 KO's) of Miass, Rusland.

NEW YORK– Olympic and World medalists headline the United States lineup against Cuba in men’s freestyle for the Beat the Streets Annual Benefit, dubbed the “Rumble on the River,” set for Mei 17 at Pier 17/Seaport District in lower Manhattan.

 

 

These U.S. stars will face a talented Cuban team of men’s freestyle wrestlers as part of the exciting card of international competition. Cuba also brings a veteran team with past Olympic, World and Pan American medalists.

 

 

2016 Olympic champion and two-time World champion Kyle Snyder will compete in the Beat the Streets Benefit for the fourth time in his career. Snyder was a three-time NCAA champion and four-time finalist for Ohio State, and also boasts a Junior World title. NEW YORK–In keeping with this month’s Beat the Streets Benefit as a celebration of the great sport of wrestling, BTS is pleased to announce three new key elements of the blockbuster event, dubbed “Rumble on the River,” set for Mei 17 at Pier 17/Seaport District in lower Manhattan.

Kicking off the benefit, the top Beat the Streets youth wrestlers will take to the mat showcasing their skills in exhibition matches. Split-T Management Signs 5 time NY Daily News Golden Gloves Champion and 2017 US National Welterweight Champion Brian Ceballo

New York, NY (Maart 19, 2018)–Split-T Management is proud to announce the signing of 5-time New York Golden Gloves champion and 2017 United States Amateur champion Brian Ceballo to a management contract.

 

 

 

 

 

De 24 year-old is a native of Brooklyn, New York had a stellar amateur career that saw him win 17 National championships beginning at 11 years old when he won the National Silver Gloves championship.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo, who began boxing at 8 years-old won 11 National titles as a junior and 6 National titles as a senior which includes the 2016 National Golden Gloves title, 2017 United States National Title.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo also captured the 2014 World Series of Boxing Team Trials, and was a Olympic trials semifinalist.

 

 

 

 

Naast het boksen, Ceballo is a well rounded individual as he plays the piano, guitar, and has been singing since he was 15 jaar oud.

 

 

 

 

“Brian has been the top amateur welterweight in New York, as well as the United States for the past several years. He has proven time and time again that he is an elite fighter and I’m glad he decided to have Split-T Management guide his professional career to the top of the welterweight division,” said Split-T Management CEO David McWater.

 

 

 

 

“I first met (CEO of Split-T Management) David McWater at the 2016 Nationale Golden Gloves, which I won. I wasn’t ready to turn professional, but we talked. I told him when I do turn professional, you will be the first I talk to,” zei Ceballo. “Daarna, we kept in touch and after I won the US Nationals Championships in 2017, I reached out to him and said that I wanted to turn professional. I would talk to other managers, some who appeared to offer me better deals, but I decided to sign with him because I had a great relationship with him, and I liked him as a person. I felt that he would do the best for my career.”

 

 

 

 

Ceballo sees himself as a player in the competitive 147-pound division.

 

 

 

 

“The welterweight division has always been a glamour division where the best fighters are at. In a few years, I will be up there with best and become a world champion!”

 

 

 

 

The 5’10” Ceballo has a diverse style which he feels will help him excel to the top of the division.

Ceballo, whose parents are from the Dominican Republic, is trained by Robert Pagan.

 

 

 

 

Brian is signed to promoter, Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions and makes pro debut on Maart 27 at The Avalon Theater in Hollywood, ZOALS.

NEW YORK, NY (Maart 14, 2018) – Dominican Featherweight prospect, Braulio Rodriguez (19-2, 17KO's), makes his return to the ring on Zaterdag, March 17th, 2018 tegen Christopher Diaz (22-0, 14KO's) from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. The ten-round bout will take place at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York, New York and will be for the WBO-NABO Super Featherweight title. The show will be promoted by Top Rank.
After a year and a half layoff, Rodriguez is excited to be back in the ring. Rodriguez was recently signed to a three-year promotional deal by Real Deal Boxing and also a managerial agreement by El Matador Management.
“I feel happy to be part of Real Deal Boxing and El Matador Management. I know that with them, I will achieve great things in the sport of boxing. This is the opportunity that I have been looking forward to and now I will be able to show everyone who Braulio “Het Kind” Rodriguez is.”
