LONG ISLAND, New York (Août 1, 2018) – Former middleweight champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin and WBA Super Middleweight Women’s World Champion Alicia “L'impératrice” Napoléon visited Crestwood Day Camp Wednesday afternoon and hosted a motivational and fitness training session with over 200 campers.

 

 

 

Quillin and the Lindenhurst-native Napoleon took advantage of the opportunity to share positive messages with the campers ahead of their respective matchups taking place this Saturday, Août 4 from NYCB LIVE, accueil du Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

 

 

 

“Being a boxer is my lifestyle, and to be able to share some of the things that made me who I am with these kids is a great joy,” Saïd Quillin. “It’s so important to reach out to the next generation and give them the tools to live positively. As a pro athlete I consider that part of my job and something I take pride in doing.”

 

 

 

“I’m so happy to be here and give something back for these children,” dit Napoléon. “Sharing different tips and motivations while I’m here is really an honor. I’m focused on defending my title Saturday night, but something like this is really a treat. I hope they all had fun and learned something they didn’t know before today.”

 

 

 

The fighters spoke to the larger group of campers and showed them some training techniques before running a half hour fitness session for about 25 seven and eight-year-olds to round out the afternoon.

Kownacki (17-0, 14 KOs) has become a must-see attraction amongst the large contingent of Polish boxing fans in his hometown of Brooklyn and will return to fight at Barclays Center for the fifth time on September 8. The 29-year-old has steadily climbed up the rankings, having most recently knocked out then once-beaten heavyweight Iago Kiladze in Brooklyn in January. Prior to that win, the undefeated heavyweight scored a dominant stoppage of Artur Szpilka last July on Long Island in a matchup of top Polish heavyweights.

 

 

 

“It’s exciting to be back in the ring on SHOWTIME to showcase my skills,” ledit Kownacki. “It will be another step to reach my goal of becoming the first Polish heavyweight champion. I am training hard in preparation to fight Charles Martin. It will be an amazing night in Barclays Center. I’m hoping Barclays Center will be covered in white and red.”

 

 

 

Né à St. Louis, Martin (25-1-1, 23 KOs) captured the IBF Heavyweight World Championship in January 2016 via a third round TKO against Vyacheslav Glazkov at Barclays Center on SHOWTIME. The 32-year-old scored knockouts in 21 de son premier 23 before losing in his first title defense against Anthony Joshua in the UK. 2016 U.S.. Olympian Charles Conwell battles Travis Scott This Saturday in New Orleans

New York, New York (Juillet 12, 2018)–Ce samedi, undefeated and 2016 U.S.. Olympian Charles Conwell (7-0, 5 KOs) takes on his toughest opponent to date when he takes on Travis Scott (19-3, 5 KOs) in a super welterweight bout scheduled for six-rounds at The Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

 

 

Conwell, 20 years-old out of Cleveland will look to continue his winning ways against Scott, who will be facing his 3rd straight undefeated opponent.

 

 

 

“I have never been more excited to put on a show, and I am looking to gain new fans in New Orleans,” said Conwell.

 

 

 

The bout can been seen live on ESPN+ beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET.

 

 

 

Conwell is managed by Split-T Management and promoted by DiBella Entertainment & Holden Productions.

New York, New York (Juin 22, 2018)-Raquel Miller a gardé son record de préfet intact avec une décision unanime en six rounds sur Szilvia Szabados dans un combat de poids moyen au Melrose Ballroom dans le Queens, New York.

 

 

 

Miller a stupéfié et blessé Szabados tout au long du concours. Meunier, qui faisait ses débuts à New York a montré sa polyvalence en présentant un arsenal diversifié de coups de poing à deux mains.

 

 

 

Miller a géré l'ancien challenger du titre mondial avec facilité alors qu'elle gagnait par des scores de blanchissage de 60-54 sur toutes les cartes.

 

 

 

Miller portait une tenue de bague qui rendait hommage au film Black Panther.

 

 

 

Le 2012 Suppléant olympique des États-Unis, Miller a continué sa domination en tant que professionnelle alors que son record montait en flèche 6-0.

 

 

 

“Je me suis bien amusé là-bas la nuit dernière et c'était bon d'être de retour en action,” dit Miller. “Je me sentais fort, et j'avais l'impression d'avoir eu une solide performance. Mon adversaire était coriace et j'étais content de faire les rondes. Je suis sûr que nous pouvons nous attendre à voir d’autres femmes sortir et rejoindre la tribu Wakanda et je suis heureuse d’être à la tête de ce mouvement.. ”

Veteran Reporter Joins Former Play-By-Play Announcer Steve Albert As Sixth From SHOWTIME Sports® Depuis 2012 To Be Presented With Boxing’s Highest Honor

NEW YORK (Juin 11, 2018) – SHOWTIME Sports® veteran reporter Jim Gray a été intronisé au Temple de la renommée internationale de boxe dimanche à Canastota, N. Gris, who started with SHOWTIME in 1994, was honored with a Special Individual Achievement Emmy Award – he currently has 12 Emmy’s in total – in 1997 for his interview of Mike Tyson following the heavyweight’s second loss to Evander Holyfield, the infamous “bite fight.” The National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association also named that interview the “Sports Broadcast Story of the Year.” En outre, the American Sportscasters Association has voted Gray “Sportscaster of the Year” en 1998 and ‘99.

 

 

 

Gray chose Tyson to introduce him on Sunday during the induction ceremony. “It’s ironic,” said Gray. “The man who threatened to kill me in public is now inducting me into the Hall of Fame.”

 

 

 

“This award is way, way overdue,” an emotional Tyson said of his good friend. “I’m very proud of you. Well-deserved.”

 

 

 

With this past weekend’s induction ceremony, SHOWTIME Sports now boasts five current Hall of Famers featured on the network: Gris, Bernstein, Farhood, Tompkins and Lennon Jr.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Tour. Undefeated Toledo Fireman DeAndre Ware defeats Enrique Collazo in battle of undefeated Super Middleweights

New York, New York (Juin 11, 2018)-DeAndre Ware scored the biggest win of his young career as he won an eight-round majority decision over 2012 Olympian and previously undefeated Enrique Collazo in a super middleweight bout at King’s Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.

 

 

 

After a tactical first three rounds, Ware took over the fight with relentless pressure while landing powerful shots to the head and body that forced Collazo to wilt.

 

 

 

Produit, who is a full-time fireman, specifically asked to fight Collazo, and he came through with flying colors as he won by the scores of 77-75 deux fois, et 76-76.

 

 

 

The bout was the 1st time that Ware navigated the 8 round distance, and he got stronger with each passing round.

 

 

 

“This was the biggest fight of my career,” said Ware. “I am thankful for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to my career taking off after this big win. We are on our way to the top.”

“The Bosnian Prince” Armin Mrkanovic defeats Nicholas Lavin this Past Friday night in Queens, New York

Mrkanovic now eyeing rematch with UBF champ Josh Himes

Queens, New York (Mai 22, 2018)–Armin “The Bosnian Prince” Mrkanovic returned to the ring after an 11-month absence to win a win six-round unanimous decision over Nicholas Lavin in a cruiserweight bout that took place this past Friday night at Amazura Concert Hall in the Jamaica section of Mrkanovic’s hometown of Queens, New York.

 

 

 

Mrkanovic controlled the action, and won by shutout scores of 60-54 on all cards to up his record to 8-3.

 

 

 

The bout was the 1st ring appearance for Mrkanovic since his highly controversial defeat against Josh Himes that took place last June 24th in West Virginia.

 

 

 

In that bout, Mrkanovic should have been awarded the bout as he outboxed Himes, and even asked for a review of the fight by the UBF, but his requests fell on deaf ears, and now Mrkanovic is demanding a rematch for the UBF title.

 

 

 

“1st of all, it was good to come back and get a win. It its always special to perform in front of my hometown fans,” said Mrkanovic, whose focus quickly turned to Himes and the UBF.

 

 

 

“I demand a rematch with Himes. The UBF told me that they would make this happen, and to this point they have been silent. Everyone who saw the fight knows that I got screwed, so it is only right that we do this rematch. Himes knows what happened. He has not even fought since our fight. I am ready now, so hopefully the UBF and Himes do the right thing and make this happen.”
