LEAR AND RICHARD TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 37 V BANGORU

Bangor, Maine (Prosinec 6, 2018) - New England utkání (NEF) se bude konat další události smíšený-bojových umění, “NEF 37: Pod nulou,” v pátek, Únor 1, 2019 Na Cross Insurance Centre v Bangor, Maine. Fred Lear will look to replicate the success he had the last time he fought in Bangor. In August 2017, Lear captured the amateur bantamweight strap with a second-round technical knockout of Walt Shea (3-1) at the Cross Insurance Center.

Lear has had a stellar amateur career fighting out of Young’s MMA in Bangor. Prior to competing in mixed-martial-arts, Lear wrestled for John Bapst High School also based in the Queen City. He has won his last three in a row in the MMA cage. Should Lear win the featherweight title, he will become the first competitor in NEF history to hold championships in multiple weight divisions.

“This title fight is an opportunity to develop and grow,” said Lear. “An undefeated opponent with nothing but finishes, I like it—it’s polarizing. I want to turn professional. This is how I get better, that’s all I’m focused on.”

Like Lear, Zac Richard brought a wrestling background with him to the MMA cage. He won a state championship in 2015 competing for Massabesic High School in Waterboro, Maine. Richard now trains with Nostos MMA of Somersworth, New Hampshire under head coach, current UFC competitor, a bývalý NEF Professional Lehká Champion, Devin Powell (9-4).  Richard has finished all three of his previous opponents in the first round.

LIGHTWEIGHT PROSPECT LOOKS TO REBOUND AGAINST PURPLE BELT

Mohammad Al Kinani will look to rebound from the first loss of his amateur career against Ramano Medina (5-0) last summer in New Hampshire. Prior to that time, Al Kinani had won the first four fights of his career, the most recent three emphatically by first-round knockout. He is a perfect 2-0 v NEF kleci. Al Kinani is a member of Evolution Athletix, a team housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art training facility opened earlier this year just off Route 1 in Saco, Maine.

 

 

 

“Jamie is definitely dangerous, but I always go in there knowing my opponent is dangerous,” Al Kinani stated. “I’d like to think I am too. More than ever. I’m feeling extremely sharp and I know I can bring in all the heat to that cage. Sprague has been training for a long time under one of the best schools in the area and probably thinks I’m an easy win, but I have been training and putting in more work than ever with the best of the best to come back from a first recent loss. He will understand the pressure of being locked up in there with me. I’m ready to shock everyone November 17th.”

 

 

 

Despite his lack of cage competition experience, Jamie Sprague is no newcomer to the combat sports world. As Al Kinani indicated, Sprague has trained for some time in the martial arts. He holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a member of Nostos MMA based in Somersworth, New Hampshire under current UFC competitor, and former NEF Pro Lightweight Champion, Devin Powell (9-3).

 

 

 

“Mo’s a tough guy,” said Sprague, “no doubt about that. But with all due respect, I want to make a statement. I want his neck.”

LACEY AND JONES TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 36

Aaron “Neoblomný” Lacey (6-2) is scheduled to meet Bill Jones (13-10) for the vacant NEF Professional Featherweight Championship.

Lacey is coming off one of the biggest wins of his professional career to date. Last weekend at “NEF 35” before his hometown fans in Bangor, Maine, Lacey submitted Jon Lemke (7-9) just under two minutes into the first round. It was a rebound win for Lacey who lost a decision to a very tough Da’Mon Blackshear (5-2) earlier this summer in Portland. Na “NEF 36,” Lacey will look to capture gold in the promotion for the second time – he won the NEF Amateur Featherweight Title at “NEF 20” v listopadu 2015 in what would be his final amateur fight. Lacey is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor.

Bill Jones is one of the pioneers of the New England MMA scene, having competed in the region since 2007. He holds wins over some of the top fighters ever to come out of the area such as UFC veteran Tateki Matsuda (13-9) and current UFC competitor Matt Bessette (22-9). Jones has competed at the national level for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). Like Lacey, he also holds a first-round submission of Jon Lemke to his credit. Na “NEF 33″ in Portland last spring, Jones was victorious over Matt Denning (5-8) via technical knockout in the second round. He is currently a member of Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

SECOND WOMEN’S FIGHT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 36 v Portlandu, MAINE

Portland, Maine (Září 12, 2018) - New England utkání (NEF) bude držet své závěrečné smíšené-bojových umění události 2018, “NEF 36: Bitva o zlato,” v sobotu, Listopad 17 na Aura v Portlandu, Maine. Dneska, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s flyweight fight to the card. B.J. Garceau (1-0) is scheduled to face Chelsea Tucker (0-3) na boj hmotnosti 125 liber.

B.J. Garceau made national headlines earlier this year as she prepared for her in-cage debut with NEF. Diagnosed with Type-1 juvenile diabetes in 1993, Garceau became an inspiration to those within the diabetic community looking to practice the martial arts. Na “NEF 32” last February, she went the distance with Sarah Ziehm (1-2) in a back-and-forth contest, ultimately picking up the win via split-decision on the judges’ scorecards. Garceau is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor, Maine.

“When Coach (Chris) Young asked me if I was free November 17th, I thought he wanted me to be the water girl for the guys on the card,” Garceau quipped. “I say this jokingly, but we’ve had some struggles finding match ups for the Young’s WMMA (women’s mixed-martial-arts) team in the past. Me and my girls are hungry to fight. So when he asked if I’d fight Chelsea, who is a warrior that doesn’t back down from anything, of course my answer was ‘yes.’ I adore Chelsea and am ready to put on a hell of a show for the fans, my team and the beautiful city of Portland, Maine this November.”

The casual observer should not let Chelsea Tucker’s record fool them. Scrappy, talented and full of heart, Tucker has come to fight each time she has stepped in the cage. She has appeared four times in the NEF cage, including a non-sanctioned grappling match with Carol Linn Powell that went to a draw last April in Portland. Tucker proudly serves her country as a culinary specialist with the United States Coast Guard stationed in Boothbay, Maine. She trains with First Class MMA in Brunswick, Maine.

“I am very excited to step back into the cage,” said Tucker. “I look forward to fighting B.J. To bude velký boj, and I look forward to representing my gym and my skill set again in the NEF cage.”

NEF SELLS OUT BANGOR FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR WITH WILD MMA CARD

Bangor, Maine (Září 9, 2018) - New England utkání (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. It was the third time in as many years that the fight promotion visited the Queen City and sold out the venue.

The main event featured a bout hailed as the “Battle of Bangor” as popular locals Aaron “Neoblomný” Lacey (6-2) a Jon Lemke (7-9) squared off. Lacey submitted Lemke in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

Hometown oblíbené “The” Ryan Sanders (17-9) took on Mando “Big Chino” Montoya (10-7) v co-hlavní události. Na 4:10 značka v prvním kole, Sanders, the reigning NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, forced Montoya to tap to a guillotine choke.

It was a successful night for the Choi Institute of Portland, Maine as Caleb Hall (2-0) a Ernesto Ornelas (4-7) were both victorious via stoppages in their respective bouts.

In the amateur headliner, Maine Amateur Wrestling Hall of Famer, 54-letý Pat Kelly (4-1) put his lightweight title on the line against Massachusetts’ Ed Forlenza (3-2) in what Kelly vowed would be his final MMA fight. Forlenza was able to score a technical knockout via referee stoppage due to strikes to capture the title. Po boji, Kelly gave an impassioned speech, thanking his coaches at Young’s MMA in Bangor as the capacity crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Nostos MMA also shined on the amateur portion of the card. The Somersworth, New Hampshire-based team went 2-0 jako Zac Richard (2-0) a Andrew Brown (1-0) picked up wins under the guidance of Nostos head coach, a současný bojovník UFC, Devin Powell.

FINISHES GALORE HIGHLIGHT NEF 34 FIGHT NIGHT IN PORTLAND; NEF ANNOUNCES RETURN TO BANGOR

Portland, Maine (Červen 17, 2018) - New England utkání (NEF) made its return to Portland, Maine on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave.” A jam-packed house of fight fans took in the action as NEF fighters delivered the non-stop excitement from bell to bell in what many are calling one of the best events the company has ever produced.

 

 

 

On a card featuring a total of 18 boje, soudci’ scorecards were not needed until the thirteenth bout of the evening. Prior to that time, the early card featured a plethora of exciting finishes including a pair of D’Arce Chokes courtesy of Angelo Rizzitello (2-1) and Henry Clark (4-4) and highlight-reel knockouts by Cody Rolling (5-5) and Zac Lawrence (1-0). Thirteen of the evening’s fights ended in the first round.

 

 

 

Kam Arnold (4-0) and Killian Murphy (1-1) waged an absolute war for the vacant amateur bantamweight title in what made history as the first amateur fight in Maine to ever go beyond the old three-round limit. Arnold claimed the title with a fourth-round knockout in a bout that will certainly be a contender for “Boj roku” this December when voting begins.

 

 

 

Not to be outdone, Carlton Charles (2-2) and Duncan “Highlander” Kovář (3-2) took their amateur welterweight title fight into the fourth round as well. Smith took the gold home after putting Charles out with a rear-naked choke.

 

 

 

On the professional side of the card, Young’s MMA teammates “The” Ryan Sanders (16-9) and Aaron “Neoblomný” Lacey (5-2) were in action. Sanders submitted Vince McGuiness (5-8) with just seconds remaining in the first round while Lacey lost a unanimous decision to Da’Mon Blackshear (5-1) v hlavní události.

 

 

 

NEF announced that its next MMA event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on September 8, 2018. CRESPO OUT, Murphy in proti Arnold v NEF boj o titul

NEF RELEASES FIGHT CARD FOR RETURN TO PORTLAND ON JUNE 16

Portland, Maine (Květen 18, 2018) –Earlier today, New England Boje (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, nazvané “NEF 34: Domov statečného,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Červen 16, 2018 s zvonku době 7:00 odpoledne EDT.

 

 

 

The main event will feature two rising East Coast prospects when Bangor, Maine’s own Aaron “Neoblomný” Lacey (5-1) meets Fayetteville, Severní Karolína je Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (4-1) v muší záchvatu. Langston and Ornelas initially met last month at “NEF 33” with Ornelas coming out on top via unanimous decision. Langston immediately requested a rematch blaming his performance on nerves surrounding his pro debut. Ornelas obliged and has promised to finish Langston this time out, leaving no room for question.

 

 

 

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights. Undefeated Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) vyhlídka Kam Arnold (3-0) bude čelit Michael Crespo (3-3) of First Class MMA for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. In the second title fight, Carlton Charles (2-1) of the Charles Fighting Family and Berserkers MMA meets Duncan “Highlander” Kovář (2-2) of Evolution Athletix to crown a new NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion. Both fights are scheduled for five three-minute rounds – a first in the NEF amateur division as all previous title fights had been scheduled for three three-minute rounds.

The championship was previously held by Fred Lear (6-2) who vacated when he turned professional. The bout between Arnold and Crespo will make history as the first five-round amateur title fight in both NEF and Maine history. All previous amateur championship fights had been scheduled for three rounds.

Undefeated Kam Arnold has been on a hot streak since his debut in the summer of 2017. The product of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) v Lewiston, Maine has cut through all three of his previous opponents with little resistance. None have made it past the two-minute mark of the first round with Arnold. It took him a mere 11-seconds to knock out David Thompson with a single punch at “NEF 33” last month in Portland. Arnold considers the opportunity to fight for the bantamweight title the highlight of his fight career thus far.

“I’m ecstatic for the opportunity to bring Lewiston back a title,” said Arnold. “Everything I’ve gone through in my life has led me to this exact moment. Michael Crespo, “Crispy” to his fans and teammates, is a six-fight veteran of the NEF cage. The bout will be a rematch of their fight in Portland earlier this month. Ornelas and Langston initially met at “NEF 33” dubna 14 at Aura. Ornelas, a member of Portland’s The Choi Institute, put on an impressive showing for the duration of three rounds on his way to a unanimous decision win on the judges’ scorecards. The victory was Ornelas’ first in the NEF cage with four previous attempts since the promotion’s inception in February 2012. (He holds a record of 1-0 as a professional in the NEF boxing ring as well.) Not only is Ornelas predicting another win over Langston on Červen 16 – he promises to finish his foe this time.

“Carl said his nerves got the better of him that night. Do Not, they didn’t – Já got the better of him, once I stepped into that cage and took the center and looked him in the eye,” said Ornelas imperatively. “I saw fear. A true fighter has no fear. Červen 16, he will see what a true fighter looks like, as he looks up at me from the flat of his back.”

The “NEF 33” bout with Ornelas was Langston’s pro debut after a lengthy amateur career that spanned 16 fights and more than four years. Many of his friends and family had turned out for the event in his hometown of Portland. And while Langston did force Ornelas to the scorecards, the Young’s MMA member was disappointed in his own performance, blaming the loss on nerves. He immediately asked NEF matchmakers for a rematch against Ornelas on the Červen 16 Portland card.

“I couldn’t be more excited about getting this rematch,” declared Langston. “I asked for this rematch the same night I lost to Ernie. I just wasn’t me that night. It was my first pro fight and my nerves got to me. I just didn’t feel like myself in there.
