PARIJS, FRANKRIJK – Twee iconische mixed martial-artiesten met een onmiskenbaar trackrecord van opwindende optredens zullen het opnemen tegen Yoel Romero (13-6) neemt Melvin Manhoef (32-15-1, 2 NC) in het co-main event van BELLATOR MMA's terugkeer naar de Accor Arena in Parijs op vrijdag, Mei 6. BELLATOR PARIJS: Bader vs.. Kongo 2 wordt live uitgezonden in Amerika op SHOWTIME om 10 p.m. CEST/16.00 uur. EN.

Nu mixed martial arts in Frankrijk gelegaliseerd wordt 2020, BELLATOR werd de eerste organisatie waarmee een groot MMA-evenement werd gehouden Bellator 248 in oktober van dat jaar. Het succes van die historische kaart zette BELLATOR ertoe aan terug te keren naar "The City of Lights". 2022 op grote schaal met een hoofdevenement met de onbetwiste BELLATOR MMA Heavyweight Champion, Ryan Bader (29-7, 1 NC) het verdedigen van zijn kroon in vijandelijk gebied tegen favoriet uit de geboorteplaats en nr. 2-gerangschikt zwaargewicht Cheick Kongo (31-11-2, 1 NC).

Naast het hoofd- en co-hoofdevenement, een lichtgewicht tilt die de laatste man uitschakelt die medialieveling Paddy Pimblett verslaat, Søren Bak (15-1) tegen die van Engeland Saul Rogers (15-4) is ook officieel. Bak heeft in de zijne maar één keer een nederlaag geproefd 16 professionele gevechten en behaalde zowel de vedergewicht- als de lichtgewichttitel in Cage Warriors voordat hij bij de BELLATOR-selectie kwam. Uitvechten uit Denemarken, "The True Viking" behaalt een zegereeks van zeven gevechten in de strijd tegen het SBG Manchester-product, Rogers. Bekend als "De beul,Rogers heeft ook vergaard 15 overwinningen op zijn cv, waaronder overwinningen op Artem Lobov, Ryan Hall en Georgi Karakhanyan.

De voorlopige kaart zal gegarandeerd een showcase van Frans talent bevatten en begint vorm te krijgen met de terugkeer van Yves Landu (16-9), die het opneemt tegen Liverpool Gavin Hughes (10-2) in een lichtgewicht affaire. Uitvechten van Miami, Florida, Romero maakt in mei zijn tweede BELLATOR-optreden 6 in Parijs. Na een periode van zeven jaar onder leiding van de UFC, het Amerikaanse Top Team-product werd een van de meest gewilde vrije spelers voordat het tekende bij de door Scott Coker geleide promotie in 2020. Met 11 zijn 13 overwinningen in de loopbaan komen via knock-out, waaronder vier van de eerste ronde variëteit, "Soldier of God" bezit het type knock-outkracht dat elke tegenstander tot onderwerping kan dwingen. Drievoudig wereldkampioen freestyle worstelen, vijfvoudig Pan-Amerikaans kampioen freestyle worstelen, en 2000 Zilveren medaillewinnaar Olympische Spelen Vrije Stijl Worstelen, de in Cuba geboren Romero heeft voortdurend zijn elitetalenten getoond op het hoogste competitieniveau. DE ENGELEN - Een toekomstige kans op het BELLATOR Wereldkampioenschap vedergewicht staat op het spel als nr. 2-gerangschikt Adam Borics (17-1) ontmoet een man die ook op nr. 2 in de officiële BELLATOR-ranglijst, Mads Burnell (16-3) in het main event van Bellator 276 op zaterdag, Maart 12 bij The Family Arena in St. Louis.

In het co-main event was voormalig BELLATOR Light Heavyweight Champion en No. 2-gerangschikt Phil Davis (23-6) keert terug naar actie en opent de zijne 2022 campagne tegen nr. 4-gerangschikt Julius Anglickas (10-2), die voor het laatst uitdaagde voor de titel van 205 pond. Op de hoofdkaart strijden ook een paar bekwame lichtgewichten, wanneer ongeslagen Jay-Jay Wilson (8-0) beweegt in gewicht om Dagestan's te ontmoeten Gadzhi Rabadanov (16-4-2).

Een BELLATOR MMA 276 voorbereidende strijd tussen twee hardhandige lichte zwaargewichten No. 8-gerangschikt Alex "Easy" Polizzi (9-1) en Team Pitbull's Jose "Gugu" Augusto (7-3, 1 NC) is ook officieel. Extra wedstrijden wordt binnenkort bekend gemaakt.

Een veelzijdige vechter met enorm succes in twee verschillende vechtsporten, Adam Borics schakelde alles uit 25 van zijn amateur-tegenstanders op weg naar compilatie 10-0 (kickboksen) en 15-0 (MMA) verslagen. Met een hoogtevoordeel van 7 cm en een gelijkspel met aanstaande tegenstander Mads Burnell als de nr. 2 vedergewicht in de BELLATOR-ranglijst, diefstal. Lauderdale vedergewicht begon zijn professionele carrière met 14 rechte triomfen, inclusief tien door knock-out of onderwerping.

Momenteel bezig met een winning streak van zeven wedstrijden, Mads Burnell geeft er de voorkeur aan zijn tegenstanders vroeg uit te schakelen. In 19 carrière gevechten, de onderwerpingsspecialist heeft meer dan de helft van zijn tegenstanders tegengehouden (10), waaronder acht in de openingsronde. Daarnaast, het Kopenhagen, Denemarken, native heeft in zijn professionele carrière niet meer dan drie rondes gevochten, terwijl het gemiddeld slechts twee per wedstrijd is. Na een vernietiging in de tweede ronde van “The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber' opvallende Saul Rogers via achterwaartse naakte vernauwing bij BELLATOR MMA 257, de drievoudig BELLATOR MMA-veteraan keerde minder dan vier maanden later terug naar de kooi en maakte Emmanuel Sanchez van streek via een unaniem besluit van drie ronden (29-28 en 30-27 tweemaal) in een non-stop strijd om BELLATOR MMA 263 juli 31, 2021, in Los Angeles. Een voormalig Europees No-Gi-kampioen, Burnell hoopt zijn ongeslagen BELLATOR-record intact te houden wanneer hij collega No. 2-gerangschikt Adam Borics.

LONDEN, UK – Vandaag, BELLATOR MMA heeft verschillende explosieve gevechten toegevoegd BELLATOR LONDEN: Amosov vs. MVP, vindt plaats in OVO Arena Wembley - voorheen bekend als The SSE Arena, Wembley – vrijdag in Londen, Mei 13.

Met een elektrische sfeer verwacht in Londen, fans zullen worden getrakteerd op een verrukkelijke weltergewicht co-functie als voormalig kampioen en nr. 2-gerangschikt Douglas Lima (32-10) neemt nr. 3-gerangschikt Jason Jackson (15-4). Britse fanfavoriet Luke trainer (5-0) zal proberen het meeste uit zijn thuispubliekvoordeel te halen wanneer hij tegenover staat Simon Biyong (7-2) in een licht-zwaargewicht-wedstrijd boordevol knock-outpotentieel.

De opwindende terugkeer van de promotie naar OVO Arena Wembley voor BELLATOR LONDEN: Amosov vs. MVP, ziet thuisfavoriet nr. 1-gerangschikt Michael “Venom” Page (20-1) kijk om de wereldtitel weltergewicht te stelen van de ongeslagen kampioen, Yaroslav Amosov. De Oekraïener, wie is 26-0, zal ernaar streven het feest in de eigen achtertuin van MVP te bederven, en de Londenaar daarbij een stukje MMA-geschiedenis ontzeggen.

Ook eerder bevestigd voor wat al een ongelooflijke kaart aan het worden is, is een vlieggewichtgevecht voor vrouwen tussen nr. 3-gerangschikt Denise Kielholtz (6-3) en nr. 4-gerangschikt Kana Watanabe (10-1-1) en een vederlicht speelfilmgevecht tussen No. 8-gerangschikt Daniel Weichel (41-13) en Robert Whiteford (16-4).

BELLATOR LONDEN: Amosov vs. MVP wordt live uitgezonden in het VK op 9 p.m. GMT / 16:00 uur. EN op BBC Three en BBC iPlayer, na de aankondiging vorige week van de grote Britse uitzendovereenkomst met de BBC. SHOWTIME zal het gevecht live in Amerika uitzenden.

Ook Douglas Lima staat op het punt om weer een bezoek te brengen aan de Engelse hoofdstad, na zijn hoofdgevecht tegen MVP vorig jaar, met een terugkeer naar winnende vorm in gedachten op bekend terrein. Hij neemt het op tegen Jason Jackson in wat weer een opwindende clash zal worden. Lima is een van de meest ervaren vechters op het Bellator-roster en hoopt iets aan de zijne toe te voegen 32 carrière overwinningen. In de weg staat de formidabele uitdaging van "The Ass Kicking Machine", die trouw presteert aan zijn bijnaam met vijf opeenvolgende overwinningen. De meest recente overwinning van Jackson was een overtuigende unanieme beslissing die zegevierde Paul Daley bij Bellator 260 en hij hoopt zijn sterke professionele staat van dienst voort te zetten.

Na een verwoestende knock-out overwinning over Yanick geluk in zijn grootste test tot nu toe bij Bellator 267 vorig jaar in Londen, Luke Trainer zal proberen zijn ongeslagen professionele record uit te breiden tot zes gevechten terwijl "The Gent" het opneemt tegen Simon Biyong. Met beide vechters die over echte knock-outkracht beschikken, de Kameroener zal hopen bovenaan te komen in de opvallende uitwisselingen en een partijdige menigte het zwijgen op te leggen. Trainer keert terug naar zijn thuisland om zijn reis als een van Bellators snelst rijzende sterren voort te zetten na een explosieve prestatie van de vorige keer.

Naast de eerder genoemde aanvallen, Londenaar Alfie "The Axe Man" Davis (14-4) is ook van plan een thuiskomst te maken als hij het opneemt tegen landgenoot Tim "Het experiment" Wilde (14-4) in een lichtgewicht voorronde. Het paar zou elkaar ontmoeten 2020 maar zullen botsen voor hun huisgetrouwen in een huiselijke botsing die zeker de aandacht zal trekken van Engelse vechtfans. "The Axe Man" zal op zoek gaan naar de vorm waarin hij vier gevechten ongeslagen ging voordat hij de laatste keer bij Bellator een unanieme beslissing verloor 259. Wilde zal echter niet in een meegaande bui zijn, aangezien hij voor het eerst in zijn Bellator-carrière drie opeenvolgende overwinningen wil behalen.

Er is nog een Engels talent te zien in de vlieggewichtdivisie voor dames als voormalig titeluitdager Kate Jackson (11-5-1) neemt het op tegen de Griekse atleet Elina "Kanonnier" Kallionidou (8-4). Jackson zal de hele weg worden gesteund door het Londense publiek, maar staat tegenover een tegenstander die zegevierde bij haar laatste optreden op Wembley met een overwinning in de eerste ronde bij Bellator 267.

BELLATOR MMA KONDIGT BELANGRIJKE NIEUWE UK BROADCAST DEAL MET BBC AAN

Nieuwe deal ziet 2022 Europese evenementen worden live uitgezonden op het nieuwe uitzendkanaal BBC Three en evenementen in de VS worden live uitgezonden op BBC iPlayer

London, Verenigd Koninkrijk- Toonaangevende mixed martial arts-promotie BELLATOR MMA heeft vandaag een opwindende nieuwe samenwerking met BBC Sport aangekondigd, waardoor evenementen van buiten Amerika live worden uitgezonden op het onlangs gelanceerde BBC Three-kanaal en BBC iPlayer.

Door de baanbrekende uitzendovereenkomst wordt BELLATOR MMA een van de hoofdbestanddelen van het nieuwe kanaal. BBC Three en BBC iPlayer zullen live uitzendingen hebben van BELLATOR-evenementen die overal buiten de VS plaatsvinden 2022 terwijl de Amerikaanse evenementen van de promotie beschikbaar zijn om live te bekijken op BBC iPlayer.

De deal vertegenwoordigt een toezegging van de BBC om alle BELLATOR-evenementen live op haar platforms te blijven vertonen 2022 na de enorm succesvolle samenwerking van de promotie met de omroep in 2021. BELLATOR nieuws, functies en resultaten zullen ook regelmatig te zien zijn op de digitale platforms van BBC Sport, zoals de BBC Sport-website en -app.

BELLATOR MMA is de thuisbasis van enkele van de meest vermakelijke en bekwame mixed martial-artiesten ter wereld, waaronder Ryan Bader, AJ McKee, Gegard Mousasi, Kris “Cyborg," Yaroslav Amosov en de eigen Michael "Venom" -pagina van Londen.

De BBC Three tie-up begint in stijl met een triple-header van spannende Europese kaarten, te beginnen met de langverwachte terugkeer van BELLATOR naar de 3Arena in Dublin op vrijdag, Februari 25. De kaart toont een middengewicht titelgevecht tussen MMA-legende Gegard Mousasi en de ongeslagen Austin Vanderford.

Na Dublin is er vrijdag weer een grote avond in Parijs, Mei 6, terwijl BELLATOR zwaargewicht wereldkampioen Ryan Bader zijn titel verdedigt tegen de iconische Franse mixed martial artist Cheick Kongo. De actie schreef in de hoofdstad geschiedenis 2020 door de eerste grote MMA-promotie te worden die een evenement in Frankrijk organiseert, wat ook de eerste keer was dat een MMA-evenement live op de BBC werd vertoond.

Als afsluiting van de eerste drie grote Europese evenementen, live op BBC Three, keert BELLATOR vrijdag terug naar Londen, Mei 13, met een ander wereldtitelgevecht bovenaan de rekening. Na een elektrische show in Londen in oktober, de Britse Michael "Venom" Page neemt het op tegen de ongeslagen kampioen weltergewicht, Yaroslav Amosov, aangezien hij ernaar streeft om slechts de tweede Britse BELLATOR MMA-kampioen te worden.

I felt like I did more damage but it felt so good considering the last fight was a fight I lost. But it was a back and forth, even fight the whole five rounds. It’s just anticlimactic to go out there and have a exciting heavyweight championship five-rounder with a tough dude in Arizona. I wanted that bad!

I’m never too confident, going to judges you know. It’s the first time in my life that I was hoping that they weren’t scoring for the wrestling. I was rocking him pretty good with my punches and I was seeing everything clearly. I underestimated his clenching, his body lock, he kept stepping in front of me with this weird move and he’s stronger than I thought. I’ve never been picked up like before…but I just told myself to keep getting up and then keep with the strikes. At the end there he was just holding on and I landed 20 unanswered elbows to his head. Those can’t be ignored and so when he went to the score cards, I said who knows now…”

I didn’t feel like I really poked him to be honest with you and the replay was showing that it just didn’t look as serious as he was playing it off to be, but it’s the eye, so only he knows how much that hurt. He was super upset after and I was like hey big dog I didn’t poke you on purpose. I mean this is a fist fight! Maar, he was walking away from the cage after and he was acting disappointed the the fight was stopped but while the fight was going on he wasn’t really fighting. His demeanor was off and he was kind of whimpering on shots and it’s like dude you weren’t really going, you were just acting.”

Successfully returning to the 265-pound division following an impressive run in the BELLATOR Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix, Ryan Bader (29-7) is fresh off a dominant BELLATOR MMA World Heavyweight Title defense over interim champion Valentin Moldavsky in front of a partisan Phoenix crowd on Jan. 29. A former two-division champion, Bader has defeated nine of his last 12 opponents at both heavyweight and light heavyweight. Vechten uit Chandler, Ariz., the former two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler from Arizona State University opened his professional career by winning season eight of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Never one to shy away from an opponent, Bader has had nothing but high-profile bouts since signing with BELLATOR MMA in 2017, defeating Fedor Emelianenko, Koning Mo, Matt Mitrione, Linton Vassell, Lyoto Machida, and Phil Davis. In his initial 265-pound title defense against Kongo, Bader controlled the action before referee Mike Beltran stopped the contest due to an accidental poke to Kongo’s left eye at 3:52 van de openingsronde.

Carl Langston will look for the first win of his professional career – a career stretching back to 2018. Prior to that time, Langston won seven fights as an amateur. He is a lifelong martial artist, having practiced taekwondo since the age of six and medaling in the sport at the Junior Olympic level. Langston is currently competing as an independent fighter.

“This fight is make it or break it for me,”Merkte Langston.  “I have every tool to best Shaun and any of my last opponents, I just have to show up mentally. Shaun Ray made his NEF debut last summer at “NEF 44” in Milford, New Hampshire in a losing effort to Caleb Hall (4-0).  Ray is a graduate of Easton High School in Easton, Maryland. He is currently a resident of Waterville, Maine. Like Langston, Ray is also an independent fighter.

The fight will be the professional debut for Al Kinani who finished his amateur career with an impressive record of 9-1. He leaves the amateur division as the number-one ranked lightweight in both New England and the Northeast. Six of Al Kinani’s nine victories have been finishes, including a 34-second knockout in his final amateur fight last fall. The fight with Rooney will be Al Kinani’s first in his home state of Maine in over three years. He represents Evolution Athletix based in Saco, Maine.

“This fight on February 12th is the first step of a long journey that I’ve been dreaming of for quite some time,” said Al Kinani. “It’s going to be a fight that’ll start and end with a handshake, but you know how I roll once I’m locked in there. It’s all business, baby. Dat is wat ik doe: I take care of fucking business.”

Chris Rooney will make his first appearance in the NEF cage on February 12, but he is a longtime MMA veteran, having competed in the sport since February 2011. He won twelve fights as an amateur prior to making his professional debut last September. Rooney trains at Sargent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in St. Albans, Vermont.

“I am very excited to announce that my next fight will be against Mo Kinani for New England Fights,” stated Rooney. “Though this will be my second fight as a professional, this will be my debut with NEF. I am looking forward to showcasing my knockout power and overall abilities as a mixed martial artist.
