BKFC will be making their fourth appearance at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, having delivered three action-packed events, most recently the April 6 show headlined by the memorable Artem Lobov vs. Jason Knight Fight of The Year kandydat.

BILOXI, MS. (Maj 25, 2019) – Former super welterweight champion Austin “Niewątpliwie” Pstrąg (31-5-1, 17 KO) battled former title challenger Terrell Gausha (21-1-1, 10 KO) to a split draw (96-94 for Trout, 99-91 for Gausha, 95-95) in a 10-round super welterweight bout that headlined Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes on Saturday night from Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

“We need to do that again. That wasn’t right,” said Trout of Las Cruces, N.M. “Let’s do it again. That was after a year layoff. Timing is going to be off. Now that I am a little more active. I need an immediate rematch. Immediate.

“You never know how the judges are seeing it, but I know 99-91 na (Gausha) wasn’t right. I was definitely in there more than one round,” continued Trout. “But I didn’t feel good in there tonight. I had to force a lot of things, and I had to close the gap in the later rounds.”

“I felt like I won the fight,” said Cleveland native Gausha. “That’s boxing sometimes. You don’t get the decision.

“I have been through a lot this camp. Jest jak jest,” continued Gausha. “I caught a bad cold the last week of training camp. My father passed away during this training camp.

“I don’t really care about a rematch with Trout,” concluded Gausha. “I just want bigger fights. I’d like to do something different. But if we have to go through (Pstrąg) again we’ll do it and just make it more convincing next time.”

In the FS1 co-feature, unbeaten contender Chordale Booker (15-0, 7 KO) defeated rugged veteran Wale Omotoso (27-4, 21 KO) przez jednogłośną decyzję (100-90 X 3) w konkursie Super półśredniej 10 rundy. Booker, a southpaw from Stamford, Conn., dominated the action against the Nigerian Omotoso.

The opening bout on FS1 featured Ahmed Elbiali (19-1, 16 KO), an Egyptian-American who lives in Miami, Floryda, scoring a technical knockout victory over Marlos Simões (13-2-2, 5 KO) of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil who was unable to continue due to an injured jaw. Elbiali knocked Simões to the canvas and referee Keith Hughes stopped the contest 2:12 into the second frame.

“When he went down, I clipped him with a left hook,” Said Elbiali. “I knew right away that I could hurt him, and that hook felt like it landed well. He was a tricky and really awkward opponent, but I just went for it and got the job done.

“I don’t really like calling out individual fighters, but I feel like I’m ready for a world title shot,” continued Elbiali. “We’re getting better with every fight and I’m ready.”

The swing bout on FS1 saw Chicago’s Shawn Simpson (10-0, 3 KO) porażka Sergio Quiroz (6-2, 1 KO) of Los Angeles by unanimous decision (60-54 X 3).

In the opening fight of the FS2 telecast, Ghanaian super middleweight Habib Ahmed(27-1-1, 18 KO) defeated Colombia’s Juan De Angel (21-11-1, 19 KO) przez jednogłośną decyzję (80-72 X 3) in an eight-round contest.

Elbiali has recently began working with a new trainer in Gamber, who also trains super middleweight champion Caleb Plant, and will look to show his improvement in the ring this Saturday night. Here is what he had to say about his new trainer and more:

On training with new coach Justin Gamber:“I’ve been learning a lot since I started training with Justin Gamber, which was about six weeks ago. Nothing against my old trainers, I just felt I needed a new look. Justin and I work well together and I’ve improved tremendously. I’m learning how to relax more in the ring, which has helped me keep my power in the later rounds of sparring. Justin is a great coach and together we are going to make some noise in the light heavyweight division.”

On his recent training camp:
“I’ve put in a lot of hard work for this training camp and I can see the difference compared to other camps I’ve had in the past. I’m working on the fundamentals of boxing, using my jab more and setting up my combinations. I know I have the power to knock out my opponents, but now I’m learning more how to set it up. Living and training in Las Vegas has been a big boost to my career because the sparring out here is second to none. I’m having a great training camp.”

On his matchup with Marlos Simões:
“I know Simões is a durable opponent who’s only been stopped once in his career. I’m expecting him to be in great shape. He’s had a lot of success in the ring, so I’m preparing for a guy who can really fight. I’m just going to go in there and execute my game plan.”

On when he will be ready for a world title shot:
“I want to get as many fights as possible this year and make a world title run in 2020. Oczywiście, everything is predicated fight to fight, but that is the goal.”

On making his televised return on FS1:
“Fighting on FS1 is always fun and exciting. FS1 is the platform where us fighters get the most exposure while we’re coming up. You can’t compare any other network to FOX, where the whole world can tune in. It’s truly a blessing for me to be fighting on FS1.”

The 28-year-old Elbiali (18-1, 15 KO) is coming off an exciting third round knockout victory over Allan Green on Jan. 13 na FS1. Elbiali, an Egyptian-American who lives in Miami, Floryda, knocked down Green in all three rounds before scoring the victory. It was his second straight victory by knockout – the other coming against Zoltan Sera last June 10 – since losing the first fight of his career against former world champion Jean Pascal in 2017. Simões (13-1-2, 5 KO) is coming a stoppage victory over Jefferson Luis De Sousa in December. The 30-year-old of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil suffered the only loss of his career against Manuel Ceballos last June.

After representing his native Puerto Rico at the 2008 Igrzyska Olimpijskie, Negron (20-2, 16 KO) was unbeaten in his first 13 pro walki. Now residing in Miami, the 32-year-old carried a seven-fight winning streak before losing to Dominic Breazeale in December on FOX. He will look to bounce back in his 2019 debiut na maj 25. Negron will face Clarksburg, West Virginia’s Martz (18-6-1, 15 KO), who enters this contest the winner of his last two and three of his last four outings. An accomplished amateur from Nigeria, Apochi (7-0, 7 KO) turned pro in the U.S. w 2017 and has racked up knockouts in each fight since. The 31-year-old trains in Houston and scored more four knockouts in 2018 before making his 2019 debut in February and stopping Raymond Ochieng.

A former New York Golden Gloves Champion, Newman (10-1-1, 7 KO) will look to rebound from a decision loss to Lionell Thompson that came after fighting Paul Parker to a draw on FS1 in 2017. The 27-year-old from Brooklyn was unbeaten in his first 10 pro fights after turning pro in 2014.

Pstrąg (31-5, 17 KO) has tangled with some of the top super welterweights of this generation, including Saul Alvarez, Erislandy Lara, Miguel Cotto, Jermell and Jermall Charlo and Jarrett Hurd. The 33-year-old from Las Cruces, Meksyk, will look to rebound from a majority decision defeat to Jermell Charlo last June. His knockout victory over Joey Hernandez in 2015 headlined the first PBC show on FS1.

“I’m excited to be back in the ring,” powiedział Trout. “I’m ready to take another chop at the world title and this is my way back. I’m really motivated to get that championship belt again. Gausha is a strong, technical fighter with an Olympic pedigree. I’ve got to get in there and take care of him and look good doing it. A good win over him will get me right back in the mix.”

“I feel good about this fight and I think it’s the perfect fight for me,” said Gausha. “With Austin Trout being a former champion and having experience fighting all the top guys in the division, it gives me a chance to show where I’m at. It’s not only about winning, but it’s the way I’ll win that will put people on notice.”

Booker (14-0, 7 KO) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Juan De Angel in January on FS1. The 27-year-old southpaw from Stamford, Conn., was busy in 2018, dzieje 5-0 z trzema nokautów. The 33-year-old Omotoso (27-3, 21 KO) is a hard-nosed veteran who will present Booker with his toughest test to date. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Omotoso learned to fight in the streets before honing his skills in the boxing gym. He calls himself “Szczęście Boy” because he feels fortunate to have made it off the streets alive and become a successful professional boxer. Now training in Los Angeles, Omotoso most recently defeated Freddy Hernandez in December 2017.

“I got the call to fight a young, undefeated fighter in Booker and I said bring it on,” powiedział Omotoso. “I’m really happy he took the fight because most people say I’m too dangerous and too tough. I will give it all I got. When I go to the ring I put all my effort and training into the fight. That’s the way this sport is. He’s continued to impress with victories over durable veterans Levan Ghvamichava and Samuel Figueroa in his last two bouts.

I just thought it was a new and fun way to test myself. Then I got this belt after my win at the first show and I found out what a huge deal this is.”

 

 

 

Rawlings concluded, “I’m healthy thankfully. My hands were actually more swollen after my first bare knuckle fight. I’ll probably be good to go again in December, but I’m the champion and I’m here to fight whoever they put in front of me.”

 

 

 

The first of two heavyweight tournament semi-final bouts saw thunderous exchanges as Arnold Adams zatrzymany Joey Beltran :09 into the fifth frame. An extremely calm and collected Adams controlled much of the action.

 

 

 

“I knew I would get the win. I wasn’t really worried about Beltran, he’s had a lot of battles,” Said Adams. “I just don’t think he has this in him anymore, but he has heart and he showed it tonight that he wants to compete. I’m hungry though, he’s been to the top and competed on some big shows. I haven’t quite gotten there yet, but this is my time and I’m going to seize the moment.”

 

 

 

W pierwszej rundzie, Adams cut Beltran over his left eye. As the end of the fourth round neared, Adams landed another devastating blow that further opened the cut, forcing the ringside doctor to stop the fight.

 

 

 

“I cut him in the first round, but that last jab that cut him I saw the blood pouring out around his eye,” added Adams. “Like a shark, I locked in on him. I was licking my lips, my eyes got big and I did what I needed to get the win.”

 

 

 

In the second heavyweight tournament semi-final, Sam Shewmaker pokonany Maurice Jackson przez podziału decyzji (49-45, 48-45, 48-46).

 

 

 

“I was trying to get inside and go to work, but he just wanted to keep wrapping me up,” said Shewmaker. “His style really prevented me from using my game plan. Every time I went inside he’d clinch. It was very frustrating. And it’s hard to work from a distance with a guy that’s so tall.”

 

 

 

Jackson did manage to land some clean shots, catching Shewmaker with a left hook that dropped him in the second round.

 

 

 

“He got me with some good shots, one kind of behind my head that knocked me down, but I just popped back up and kept fighting,” added Shewmaker. “The knockdown didn’t really bother me, just knocked me a little off balance. I felt fine shortly after.”

 

 

 

The wins by Adams and Shewmaker set up the finals of the heavyweight tournament with the pair expected to face each other at BKFC 3.

 

 

 

“It’s time to turn it up,” Said Adams. “Sam Shewmaker has power in both hands, but I’m ready for anyone.”

 

 

 

“I expect fireworks when I face Adams,” said Shewmaker. “He has a good jab, but I have a good jab too and I like to bang. Tak, it should make for a great matchup in the finals.”
