LAS VEGAS, NV (Kovas 10, 2020) - Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame announced its 2020 class of inductees today at the Fernando Vargas Fighting Foundation Las Vegase. Inductees in attendance were, 2-Pasaulio čempionas Fernando Vargas,, 2-Pasaulio čempionas, Kaulai Adamsas, WBC Lengvas čempionas, Devin Haney, who was voted Fighter of the Year, Prospektas Metų, rolando Romero, ir Saalim Gonzales, father of Amateur Fighter of the Year, Rahim Gonzales. A graduate of Brown University, the now 80-year-old Sammartino has enjoyed two other careers as an oral surgeon and investment advisor at Blue Fin in Providence, in addition to his role as an international boxing judge since 1985.
“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Pirmadienis Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tigras” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 PRO kovoja, įskirtinai 50 major world title fights.

Sammartino, who proudly says he never missed a day of work in 40 metų, has decided to retire, although he’ll remain a boxing fans for the rest of his life. “I started slowing down at my age, doing local shows and maybe three or four world title fights a year, mostly WBO and IBF,” Sammartino remarked. “I had a tough bout with pneumonia the past 5-6 months and that made working difficult.”
His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” jis pasakė. “This is a great way to end my career.”

I am proud to officially announce my 6th Official Amateur Boxing Reunion that will take place on March 18 at Monique’s Lounge in Harlem, Niujorkas. I am expecting by far the largest turn out of any of the previous 5 reunions which were held twice at Rival Boxing in Las Vegas, once at Jimmy’s Corner in Manhattan and once each at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos.

Among the most special of moments at my reunions, we had Mike McCallum and Alex Ramos, who met each other in the semi-finals of the 1980 NYC Golden Gloves, reconnect in Las Vegas in late 2014, we had Luis Ortiz and Lawrence Clay-Bey, who were brought together in 2015 at Foxwoods after not only not seeing each other in 38 YEARS but after not even knowing they fought against each other in 1977 until just a few days before they reunited and in NYC over the summer of 2015 mes turėjome 1984 New York City Golden Gloves 156 pound champion and runner up Dennis “Magas” Milton and Jesse Lanton connect once again.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Lapkritis 2, 2016) – Attendees for the Lapkritis 4, 2016, “Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame” Pre-Fight Fundraiser, taking place after the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas sverti-in, have been announced.
The Pre-Fight “Night with Boxing Legends” fundraiser dinner will take place at Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant ir Wine Bar, located close to the Thomas & Mack Center. Ferraro’s will provide great food, cocktails & a beautiful atmosphere. Two tickets to the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jesse Vargas fight will be auctioned off at the event. All proceeds will go to help boxing organizations in Las Vegas. Don’t miss your chance to support a great cause and meet several Boxing Legends in this intimate setting.
