Murphys Boxing is proud to announce NABA super welterweight champion, Mark DeLuca (23-1, 13 KO) will face undefeated Canadian contender, Brandon Brewer (23-0-1, 11 KO) on the undercard of the middleweight world championship bout between Dhimitri Andrade dhe Maciej Sulecki jetojnë në DAZN në E shtunë, June 29th në Zot, Rhode Island.

As for DeLuca’s massive Boston area fan base, the Whitman, Massachusetts native is confident they will be making the short trip down to Providence.


“It’s definitely a home game for me. Providence is only 45 minutes from my front door. I can guarantee you that Boston will be in the house.”


DeLuca’s promoter and Murphys Boxing founder, Ken Casey couldn’t agree more with his fighter.

The free, interactive series – which has entertained almost 5.2 million fans since its platform premiere in May of 2017 – visits the shadows of Fenway once again to continue its March schedule. The three-show March is part of a 2019 first quarter that showcases an outstanding six-card lineup featuring six different promotions and spanning four cities, which began with three February shows and two March shows already that combined for more than 860,000 views.

In Saturday’s the main event, NABA Champion Mark DeLuca (22-1, 13 KO) merr Jimmy Williams (16-1-1, 5 KO) in an all-New England battle of super welterweights. “I won the Massachusetts State Heavyweight Title on the Murphys Paddys Day show in 2017 and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is like nothing I’ve ever witnessed at a boxing event. I’m looking forward to being part of it again.”

There’s a lot of fighters I want to share the ring with but right now I think myself vs Philadelphia’s Darmani Rock is a fight that should and will happen.”

DeLuca is coming off the highest profile win of his career this past October when he fought on the undercard of Demetrius Andrade-së world title fight at TD Garden which was shown worldwide on DAZN. DeLuca won a unanimous decision in what was an immediate rematch of the only blemish on his record, a split decision loss to Walter Wright, considered by most in attendance to be a robbery. Now DeLuca finds himself, not only one of the most popular fighters in New England, but also in contention for a world title shot later this year.

“Boston is a home away from home for me.”, says the outspoken, handlebar mustached slugger who has fought in the New England area 10 kohët.

Murphys Boxing’s Charles Foster (17-0, 8 KO) will put his NABA Light Heavyweight Championship title on the line in a 10 round bout against Chicago’s Mike Jimenez (22-1-2, 14 KO).


The New Haven, Connecticut based Foster is a world ranked contender (#10 në WBA) and is fresh off a national television appearance last year when he beat the previously undefeated, Alvin Varmall, Jr. në Showtime. This week on the FNU Combat Sports Show, we discuss the latest news in MMA and boxing, recap the past week’s events and preview the upcoming events this week. We also discuss Walter “2 Guns” Wright winning his main event fight against Mark DeLuca a couple days after we interviewed him last week. Wright’s split decision win came in part due to a persistent jab that frustrated DeLuca and left him bloodied, bruised and exhausted by the final bell. Of course bringing up this fact gets us all going on the absolute necessity of the jab in any combat sports fighter’s toolbox.

Among the news we touch on:

The rumors about Manny Pacquiao’s next fight with Lucas Matthysse being in jeopardy, Manny and his team say everything is on track.

Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks retires (also forgot to mention Rashad Evans retired as well).

 

The latest cast for The Contender Series, set to return this August featuring 16 up and coming young boxers in the 160-pound division.

 

Lyoto Machida’s defection from the UFC to Bellator and Bellator’s blockbuster deal with DAZN, a streaming service working to take over new markets this year, including the US and Italy.

Pro Boxer Walter Wright Joins the FNU Combat Sports Show

(see poster below) This week we caught up with Walter before he made the trip east from Seattle. We interviewed him about the big fight and discussed his career in general. We also recapped all of last week’s boxing and MMA events and provided some other news tidbits like the Creed II trailer release and Ronda Rousey’s 30-day suspension from the WWE. N.E. Junior Middleweight champion Greg Vendetti (14-2-1, 10 KO), fighting out of Stoneham (MA), will defend his title against Worcester’s (MA) Khiary Gray (14-2, 11 KO) in the eight-round main event. Vendetti is riding a 10-fight win streak, knocking out eight opponents during this stretch, while Gray is a former Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) International and Northeast Junior Middleweight champion.
The best fighter on the card is undefeated junior middleweight Mark “Bazooka” DeLuca (18-0, 12 KO), a U.S. Marine from Quincy (MA) who fought in Afghanistan. He’ll be tested by always-dangerous Chris Chatman (14-6-1, 5 KO), e Çikagos, in the eight-round co-feature bout.
