Emeev (14-3-0, M​-1: 8-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Dagestan, is the reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, although his title belt will not be at stake against Shlemenko. Buchinger (30-4-0, M​-1: 5-0-0), the 29-year-old from Slovakia, captured the vacant M-1 Challenge featherweight title in 2014, via a fourth-round knockout of Tural Raginov ຢູ່​ໃນ M​-1 ທ້າ​ຫມູ່​ຫຼິ້ນ 52.
