ЛОВЕЛЛ, Маса. (Фебруар 23, 2018) – Eleven New England champions were crowned last night during the New England Tournament of Champions at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Central New England snapped the Western New England’s four-year reign in team scoring to capture the covered Bill Hoar Memorial Award as Most Outstanding Team.
The New England Tournament of Champions, also known as the All-New England’s, is part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships.
Each individual N.E. champion qualified for Team New England, which will compete at the National Golden Gloves Championship, почевши Мај 14, 2018 in Omaha, Небраска.
Central N.E. had five individual winners, edging Western NE with four, North N.E. and Southern N.E. had champion one apiece.
“There were some great fights, hotly contested because there was so much on the line,” Н. И. The Rocky Marciano Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Heavyweight Boxer was presented to Lowell, MA’s Edmond Worley, who edged Randolph, MA’s Edit McApman, 4-1, to clinch the team title for Central New England in the second to last bout of the night.

Western New England captured top honors in team standings with eight individual winners, followed by Central New England (5), Northern New England (1) and Southern New England (0).
East Walpole bantamweight Noelle Boran was named Most Outstanding Boxer.

(Фебруар 9, 2018) – Western New England and Central New England teams dominated last night’s semifinals round in the novice division of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships, was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

ЛОВЕЛЛ, Маса. (Јануар 26, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night in front of a jacked-up crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium, featuring later round Central New England (Greater Lowell) novice and open class matches.

Novice semifinals and championship finals, as well as some open semifinals and championship final, were held last night. USA Boxing’s No. 7-rated light heavyweight Miguel Teo (Marlboro, Мр) captured the Central New England (CNE) open division championship, заустављање John Xifafas. of Nashua, N.H., у трећем колу. ЛОВЕЛЛ, Маса. (Јануар 20, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night with Central New England (Greater Lowell) novice and open class action at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Novice quarterfinals and semifinals matches were held last night, as well as preliminary bouts in the open division. The female championship bout in the middleweight class was also held last night, in which Amesbury’s (Мр) Jessica McFadden edged Brookline’s Samantha Surface, 3-2.
The Fight of the Night was an open-class welterweight showdown between Salem’s (Мр) Charlie Espinal and Amesbury’s Kenny Lawson, which Espinal won by a score of 5-0.
“It was a good night,” New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo рекао. “Good weather helped draw a big crowd, the largest of the season so far. There were a lot of good matches, some open division to go along with the novices. The Espinal-Larson match was the best of the night, a war from start to finish. It was the type fight you didn’t want either fighter to lose. Espinal had a little better boxing and experience that carried him to victory.”

“The first bout (Родригез вс. Picariello) of the night was awesome, one of the best I’ve seen in years,” Tournament Executive Director Bobby Russo рекао. “It was a lesson to be learned for fans: don’t come late! One of the great things about amateur boxing is you never know what the fight of the night will be and last night it was the first. Rodriguez showed a good skill level, especially for a novice, and Picariello had tremendous determination. He kept coming and they both threw a lot of punches. It was a great way to start the show.”
