FÖRSYN, Rhode Island (Juni 26, 2018) – I förväg för hennes kamp denna lördagskväll på Mohegan Sun Arena, three-time world champion Kali “KO Mequinonoag” Reis höll en öppen medieövning idag på Big Six Academy i Providence, Rhode Island.

 

 

 

Slåss från Cranston i närheten, RI, Reis (13-7-1, 4 Kos) kommer att möta tidigare utmanare för världstiteln Patty “Det eleganta” Ramirez (11-5, 5 Kos), av Mexiko, i en åtta Ligt weltervikt bout.

 

 

 

Reis vs. Ramirez är den medföljande anläggningen på “SLUGFEST PÅ SOLEN” kort, presented by JOE DEGUARDIA'S STARBOXING, vid Mohegan Sun Arena i Uncasville, Connecticut.

 

 

 

Reis kommer ut från en historisk kamp förra månaden kontra obestridda kvinnors världsmästerskapsmästare och pund-4-pund drottning, 33-0 Cecilia Braekhus, i den första kvinnliga anläggningen någonsin med på HBO. Reis tappade Braekhus för första gången i sin yrkeskarriär, men domarna gjorde kampen för Braekhus, över ruckusboo från folkmassan.

 

 

 

I main event, efter elva månader ur ringen på grund av en trasig käke, den “Vanlig man”, Union Local 66 arbetare, Joe Smith Jr. återvänder till den vackra Mohegan Sun Arena i Uncasville, Connecticut. Uncasville, Conn. (jUNE 25, 2018) –With June 30th rapidly approaching, the hype for STAR BOXING’S “SLUGFEST at the SUN” continues to build as two of the premier fighters on the card will be making their New England homecoming. In the co-feature bout, KALI “KO MEQUINONOAG” REIS (13-7-1 4KO: s) av Providence, Rhode Island will be making her third appearance at Mohegan Sun against PATY “LA ELEGANTE” RAMIREZ (11-5 5KO: s). Adding to the excitement, Connecticut egen “ACTION” ANTHONY LAUREANO (7-0 3KO: s) of East Hartford is set to make his return home at Mohegan Sun in his bout against JUAN de la CRUZ RODRIGUEZ (8-9-1 6KO: s).

 

 

 

Rhode Island’s Native Warrior, Kali Reis, is no stranger to bright lights and pressure. Coming off an impressive performance on HBO against undisputed champion and #1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world, Cecilia Braekhus, Reis looks to return home, tillbaka till New England och lägger ut sin fulla krigareanda på Mohegan Sun.

Jag är den fighter som alltid vill slåss.”

 

 

 

Denna kamp mot Rodriguez kommer att markera tredje gången i sin karriär som Laureano kämpar på Mohegan Sun.

Two-division world champion Beibut Shumenov comeback fight for Vacant WBA Cruiserweight World title

ASTANA, Kazakstan (Maj 10, 2018)) – Två division World Boxing Association (WBA) Världsmästare Shumenov Beibu announced his comeback fight will be held July 7, mot 30-1 Hizni Altunkaya for the vacant WBA Cruiserweight World title, i Astana, Kazakstan.

 

 

 

Shumenov (17-2, 11 Kos), en 2004 Kazakstan Olympian, retired last June due to an eye injury that required surgeries, tvingade honom att avstå från sin WBA cruiser VM-titel.

 

Shumenov vs. Altunkaya is a presentation of Shumenov’s company, KZ Event Productions, Inc.

 

 

 

The July 7th gala event will be part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Astana being the capital of Kazakhstan. Many political dignitaries from Kazakhstan and around the World are expected to attend Shumenov’s comeback fight.

 

 

 

“I’m happy to fight for my belt,” Shumenov said from his training camp in Kazakhstan. “My eye is 100-percent and I’m excited about fighting again. I’m honored to fight on the 20thanniversary celebration of Astana as my country’s capital. Efter denna kamp, I want Interim cruiserweight champion, Arsen Goulamirian.”

 

 

I bara hans 10: e pro kamp, Shumenov established the fewest-fights record for a light heavyweight world champion, när han decisioned Gabriel Campillo i Las Vegas.

I 2011, Altunkaya won a 12-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Salvatore Aiello (29-0) for the Interim World Boxing Federation (WBF) World cruiserweight title. The talented Turk added the vacant Global Boxing Council (GBC) Intercontinental cruiserweight crown to his collection in 2016, The only loss of his pro career was last year to former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Cruiserweight World champion Krzysztof Glowacki (26-1).

Lenin Castillo grabs WBO Gold in Ponce, Puerto Rico

Ponce, Puerto Rico – Former Dominican Olympian Lenin Castillo (18-1-1, 13 KO: s) won the WBO/NABO vacant light heavyweight title in impressive fashion. Castillo defeated Aaron “Homicide” Mitchell (27-3-1, 21 KO: s) of Florida by way of technical knockout in the 10th and final round.

 

 

 

 

As a result of the victory, Castillo will now be ranked among the best 175 pound fighters in the WBO.

 

 

 

 

The fight was televised by DIRECTV PR as part of a card promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions at the Complejo Ferial, Ponce, PR.

 

 

 

 

“I am very grateful to my manager Raúl Pastrana from Spartan Boxing Club, Miguel Cotto Promotions and the WBO for making this fight possible with an important title at stake that will place me among the best fighters of my weight,” Said Castillo, “This victory is for my Dominican people, my dad, my mom and also for the Puerto Ricans who made me feel at home since I arrived on the island for the fight”.

 

 

 

 

“I prepared myself to the max and these are the results of working hard in the gym. Since I landed a good shot at Mitchell, he decided to survive the whole fight and did not let me use everything I had saved for him. But the important thing was that we won all the rounds without losing concentration”, expressed Castillo, who was training in Florida under the supervision of Maury Ramos of KMJ with the assistance of Chiro Pérez from 5th St Gym.

Salita Signs Top Light Heavyweight Umar Salamov to Co-Promotional Contract

Dmitriy Salita, of Salita Promotions, proudly announces the signing of world-class light heavyweight contender Umar Salamov to a co-promotional contract, along with KA Promotions.

Salamov (20-1, 15 Kos) hails from Alkhan-Kala, Ryssland, but is currently in Detroit training at the legendary Kronk Gym with Javan SugarHill Steward.
“Umar is a tall, rangy light heavyweight with crafty footwork and an arsenal of punches,” said Steward. “Being that Umar is only 23 år, his natural athleticism and creativity in the ring makes me excited to teach him that Kronk magic, which will make him a force in the strong light heavyweight division.”
“I have relocated my training base to Detroit and look forward to a big year,” said Salamov. “My goal this year is to become a mandatory challenger for a world title in one of the four sanctioning bodies and fight for a world title.”
The 23-year-old slugger has already amassed quite a collection of championships as professional. He is the former IBO Youth and World Light Heavyweight, WBO Youth World, European and International, and the IBF East/West Europe Light Heavyweight Champion.
“Umar is one of the best light Heavyweights in the world,” sa Dmitriy Salita. “It’s a division that is packed with lots of very good fighters and big names. I believe Umar has the skills and the experience to be the best. He is only 23 years old and has lots of world-class experience on the elite level in the amateurs and the pros. Now with him training in Detroit, his skills and experience will go to new levels.”

 

 

 

 

 

Salamov says the decision to sign wit Salita was an easy one to make. “Dmitriy has a very good reputation and has done great work with the fighters he has worked with. He is very serious and responsible in his work. I have high hopes!”

HUMBERTO “TITO” VELAZCO SCORES SENSATIONAL KNOCKOUT IN EL PASO, TX

Aguascalientes, MX (Februari 19, 2018) – Den gångna Lördag, på Don Haskins Center i El Paso, TX, socker Promotions light-heavyweight prospect, Humberto “Tito” Velazco (19-1-1, 14 Kos), scored the knockout of the night, mot Thomas “Högsta hönset” Williams Jr. (20-4, 14 Kos).
Velazco, who hails from Aguascalientes, Mexiko, rallied from an early first round knockdown, which was more of an off-balance circumstance. Velazco wasn’t hurt and evened the score in the second round with his own knockdown, catching Williams with a short right to the face, a punch he didn’t see coming. Williams survived the round but was walking on wobbly legs. Now in a rhythm, Velazco’s timing was on point as he sent Williams to the deck for the second time in round three, this time hurting him badly with combination of punches. Williams survived once again only to be stopped in round four when Velazco, a heavy-handed southpaw, blasted him with a straight left, forcing the referee to stop the bout at the 1:37 märke.
“It was a great feeling to get a knockout in my first fight in the united states,” said Humberto Velazco, som hanteras av Greg Hannley of Prince Ranch Boxing. “When I got up from the knockdown I wasn’t hurt, but it definitely woke me up. “When I first saw Velazco in the gym, I knew he was something special,” sa Oscar Vazquez, CEO of Sugar Promotions. “He has great feet for a big man and showed he can bang with the best of them. I’m very grateful to the folks at PBC, who gave us the opportunity to fight on this card. I believe Velazco will be the next big star to come out of Mexico.”

Velazco vs. Williams Jr. was showcased on the PBC card headlined by Victor Ortiz vs. Devon Alexander. Look for Velaszco to be back in the ring by summer, most likely in his hometown of Aguascalientes, Mexiko.

ASTANA, Kazakstan (Januari 29, 2018) – Två division World Boxing Association (WBA) Världsmästare Shumenov Beibu meddelade hans comeback i dag vid en presskonferens i sitt hemland Kazakstan.
“Jag trodde en mycket lång tid innan detta beslut,” Shumenov förklarade. “Att ha vägt alla för- och nackdelar, förutom att samråda med min familj och team, Jag har bestämt beslutat att återvända till professionell boxning. It was a learning experience going from the amateurs to pros. Everybody’s goal is to raise your level. I’m in the best shape of my life for this fight and doing things in the gym I’ve never done before. I’m looking for a stoppage.”

“Jag ser fram emot att ha Richie boxning för UBF New England titel så tidigt i sin professionella karriär,”” nämnda promotor Jose Antonio Rivera, den pensionerade 3-tid, 2-mästare division världen. “Detta är tredje gången vi har haft förmånen att han kämpar på en av våra kort.
