MINNEAPOLIS (Augustus 8, 2018) – An already stacked card is expanding to a three-hour telecast with exciting showdowns presented by Premier Boxing Champions as rising unbeaten 2016 Olympian Eimantas Stanionis faces the toughest test of his young career when he battles Levan Ghvamichava and explosive heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba steps into the ring looking to deliver another knockout performance live on FS1 and FOX Deportes Friday, Augustus 24 from the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The PBC on FS1 and FOX Deportes telecast is headlined by welterweight contender Jamal James returning to action in his hometown as he takes on Mexico’s Mahonry Montes. Middleweight contenders Willie Monroe Jr. and Immanuwel Aleem will square-off in the co-main event while rising prospect Jamontay Clark will take on once-beaten Jeison Rosario in a super welterweight showdown. Those five fights will play out over three hours of non-stop action, die begint aan 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

Highlighting the non-televised undercard will be Minnesota-native and former super middleweight world champion Caleb “Gouden” Truax as he returns to the ring after two straight world title fights to face Brazil’s Fabiano Pena in a 10-round super middleweight fight.

Tickets voor de live-evenement, which is promoted by TGB Promotions and Warriors Boxing, are on sale now and are available by visiting www.ArmoryMN.com or Ticketmaster.com.

After representing his native Lithuania in the 2016 Olympische Spelen, Stanionis (6-0, 5 KO) moved to California to train with legendary coach Freddie Roach and begin his pro career. The 23-year-old made his pro debut in April 2017 with a first-round knockout of Rasheed Lawal and followed it up with knockout wins in four of his next five bouts. Stanionis has scored stoppage victories over Hector Munoz and Erick Daniel Martinez so far in 2018 and will look to make it three-straight when he steps in for the eight-round welterweight affair.

Originally from the nation of Georgia but now fighting out of California, Ghvamichava (18-3-1, 13 KO) has had his last four fights appear on FS1 and FOX Deportes broadcasts as he’s challenged former champion Sergey Lipinets and top contender Yordenis Ugas, while picking up victories over Oscar Molina and Breidis Prescott. The 33-year-old was unbeaten in seven straight fights after his first defeat in 2013.

Coached by renowned trainer Ronnie Shields in Houston, Ajagba (5-0, 5 KO) has been impressive since turning pro after representing his native Nigeria in the 2016 Olympische Spelen. The 24-year-old has five knockout victories in five pro fights so far, with only one opponent reaching the second round.

Truax (29-4-2, 18 KO) became just the third Minnesota-born fighter to win a world title when he went on the road to the UK last December and defeated James DeGale in one of the biggest upsets of 2017. The Osseo-product lost a close decision in the rematch to DeGale in April and will return to action to take on the 30-year-old Pena (15-10-1, 11 KO), who has faced numerous top contenders including Jose Uzcategui, Joe Smith Jr. and Tureano Johnson to name a few.

OAKLAND (April 21, 2017) – Undefeated rising contender Mario Barrios has wrapped up training camp and is set for a main event showdown against Nicaragua’s Nelson Lara dat headlines Premier Boxing Champions TOE-tot-teen DINSDAG op FS1 en Boksen Champions op FOX Deportes Dinsdag, April 25 from the Fitz Tunica Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi.
Uitgezonden dekking begint bij 9 p.m. EN/6 p.m. PT and features a 10-round matchup of exciting welterweights as once-beaten Oscar Molina (13-1-1, 10 KO) takes on Georgia’sLevan Ghvamichava (17-3-1, 13 KO) in een confrontatie van 10 ronden.
Tickets voor de live-evenement, die wordt bevorderd door TGB Promotions, beginnen $20 en zijn nu te koop. Tickets can be purchased through the Fitz Gift Shop or Ticketmaster atwww.Ticketmaster.com of door te bellen naar 1-800-745-3000.
Here is what Barrios had to say from training camp:
On fighting in his first main event on FS1:
Fighting in the main event on FS1, op de nationale televisie, is going to be an incredible blessing. I know it’ll be a tremendous boost to my career. I want to set the pace from the opening bell, and give the fans a night to remember. These are the type of fights I’ve always dreamed of.
On his recent training camp with Virgil Hunter in the Bay Area:
Training with Virgil Hunter has been great. This will be my third fight with him as the lead in my corner. We are working tremendously well as a team and I’m happy where my career is at. We got a lot of good sparring in, with a lot of different looks. I feel my punches are sharp and my timing is on point. I’m going to shine in this fight.
On his matchup with Nelson Lara
I really don’t know much about Nelson Lara, except for the fact that he’s coming off a couple of wins. I’m sure his confidence is high, so I’m expecting a tough fight. Ook, I know he’s fought at lightweight or super-lightweight for most of his career, so he’s got more experience fighting at this weight. One thing for sure isI’ll be ready for anything he brings to the ring.
On moving up two weight classes
It’s hard to believe, but I started off my career at super-bantamweight while standing six feet plus. It was getting to make those smaller weights. I was killing myself to make super featherweight, so my team and I felt it was best to skip lightweight, and move to super-lightweight. It’s a big jump, but I feel real strong at this weight. This is where I want to make my run toward a world title, at super lightweight. You’ll see a stronger Mario Barrios.
On fighting in Mississippi
I actually fought out here early in my career but at a different venue. The fans are great and they get loud. A lively crowd is always fun to fight in front of. I plan on giving the Mississippi fans a great night of boxing.

Tickets voor de live-evenement, die wordt bevorderd door TGB Promotions, beginnen $20 en zijn nu te koop. Tickets can be purchased through the Fitz Gift Shop or Ticketmaster atwww.Ticketmaster.com of door te bellen naar 1-800-745-3000.
This show epitomizes what the Premier Boxing Champions series on FS1 and FOX Deportes is all about – jong, hungry boxers making the climb to the top,” zei Tom Brown, President van TGB Promotions. “We’ve watched Mario Barrios grow up in the ring. His fight against tough veteran Nelson Lara represents another big step in his progression. Oscar Molina is shifting from 154 pounds to 147 pounds and will face one of the toughest challenges of his career when he takes on rugged Levan Ghvamichava. This is a fan-friendly card that promises plenty of excitement.
Standing more than six feet tall, the 21-year-old Barrios won his first 12-round fight last July when he defeated Devis Boschiero after winning seven times in a busy 2015 campagne. The San-Antonio native followed up that victory with stoppage wins over Claudio Rosendo Tapia last December and Yardley Suarez in March to run his record to a perfect 18 wins in his first 18 pro starts.
Originally from Nicaragua but now fighting out of Costa Rica, Lara was unbeaten in 17 van zijn eerste 18 pro-gevechten na het inschakelen van een professional 2004. Lara enters this bout having won his last two contests by stoppage including his most recent triumph in March. Lara will fight in the U.S. for the third time as a pro in a career that has seen him enter the ring in six different countries.
Molina, van Norwalk, Calif., just east of Los Angeles, was een 2012 Mexican Olympian who tore through his opposition after turning professional in 2013, registering knockouts in 10 zijn 14 gevechten. The 27-year-old fought 10-round draw with Dominque Dolton last year before losing an exciting contest against 154-pound world champion Jarrett Hurd. Now fighting at 147-pounds, Molina will look to climb the ranks in his new division.
Ghvamichava returns to the ring in Tunica after a dropping a split decision to top contender Yordenis Ugas in February. Priot to that, the 31-year-old had delivered a sensational knockout of Breidis Prescott last July. Trained by Virgil Hunter in California, Ghvamichava is originally from Poti, Georgia. He carried a five-fight winning streak from 2014 naar 2015 that included wins over previously unbeaten fighters Chris Singleton and Jonathan Garcia plus veterans Cosme Rivera and Sergio Reyes.

TUNICA, MEVROUW (Februari 2, 2017) – Voormalig wereldkampioen Luis Collazo (37-7, 20 KO) delivered an early “Knock-out van het Jaar” candidate with a sixth-round knockout of welterweight contender Sammy Vasquez Jr. (21-2, 15 KO) Donderdag nacht in het main event van de Premier Boxing Champions op FS1 and FOX Deportes from Horseshoe Tunica Hotel & Casino in Tunica, Mississippi.
The Brooklyn-native Collazo started slow as Vasquez Jr. looked to control the fight with his movement and jab. The action began to pick-up in the third round as Collazo struck the first major blow of the fight, connecting on a right hand that sent Vasquez Jr. to the canvas.
Vasquez Jr. stunned Collazo early in the fourth round with an overhand left and pressed forward to initiate numerous exchanges along the ropes. Collazo was able to hold off his younger opponent and do damage with body shots and short punches in the exchanges.
After a more tactical round five, Vasquez Jr. once again pushed forward on Collazo in the hopes of getting his offense going. The veteran Collazo was prepared for the attack and connected on a vicious right hand that put Vasquez on the mat and out for good as referee Bill Clancy halted the bout at 1:27 in de ronde.
In weltergewicht actie, fast-rising Cuban contender Yordenis Ugas (18-3, 8 KO) earned a split-decision over Levan Ghvamichava (17-3-1, 13 KO) in their 10-round bout Donderdagnacht.
It was the third straight impressive victory for Ugas, who has put himself squarely in the conversation in the welterweight division. Ugas was in control of the early part of the fight, winning exchanges in the middle of the ring and breaking through the high and tight guard of Ghvamichava.
Ghvamichava was able to work his way back into the fight with an increased work rate in the middle rounds as he began to find openings in Ugasdefense. Referee Bill Clancy deducted a point from Ugas in round eight after multiple warnings for low blows.
The action heated up in the final two rounds as both men exchanged heavy blows throughout. Ugas began to land his left hook successfully but Ghvamichava had his moments and continued throwing punches until the final bell. After 10-rounds of action the judges scores were 99-90, 97-94 for Ugas and 95-94 for Ghvamichava.
In a showdown of unbeaten super lightweight prospects, Chicago's Eddie Ramirez (16-0, 11 KO) earned a stoppage victory after nine rounds of action against Houston’s Ryan Karl (13-0, 9 KO). Karl’s corner stopped the fight before the 10th en laatste ronde.
Ramirez was the more effective fighter from the start, working off of his jab to hit Karl with a big right hand that staggered him in the second round. Karl was able to weather the storm and compete throughout the middle rounds of the fight as he threw constant power punches in an attempt to catch Ramirez.
The momentum swung to Ramirez for good starting in the seventh round, when another right hand connected with Karl and opened up a cut over Karl’s left eye. A late flurry by Ramirez in round nine as he staggered Karl near the ropes and forced him to hold Ramirez. Karl was able to finish the round, but did not answer the bell for round 10 as his corner put a halt to the fight.
Hier is wat de vechters te zeggen had Donderdag:
Luis Collazo
Going into the fight I knew he didn’t like the body shots. In the locker room my team was telling me that he’s going to be waiting for it. We wanted to touch him soft down low and then go up top. We opened him up. We both tried to line up the hook and mine landed first.
I’m a slow-starter. I’m better from a distance and I have the experience. Ik ben 35 but I still feel like I have a lot left in the ring.
I’ve learned a lot about myself. I’m completely dedicated to this sport and ready to keep moving forward. Everyone said I was faded but now I have the opportunity to keep going.
Sammy caught me with some good shots. He got me with a big overhand left. Hij is een sterke vechter.
There are a lot of great fights coming up in the welterweight division. I know Shawn Porter doesn’t have an opponent right now. I’m ready to get it on if he is.
SAMMY VASQUEZ JR.
I felt like I was starting to get in my groove. He just caught me with a really great shot at the right time.
I knew his big punch was the right hook. I was working on keeping my hand up to block it. I dropped it at the wrong time and he got me.
Obviously this is going to set me back. I need to come back stronger. I hope that I can come back and fight someone that can help me move up the ranks.
YORDENIS UGAS
I boxed from a distance like we prepared. I thought that I was in control and I thought I won easily.
I was surprised it was a split-decision. I thought I won most of the rounds. He was a very tough opponent but I was ready for him and I did what I wanted to do.
I was feeding off of my corner. I’m a top contender and I’m ready to face anybody.
LEVAN GHVAMICHAVA
I’m disappointed in the result. It’s hard to put into words. Het was een close gevecht. I thought a lot of his shots were being blocked and I thought I countered well.
The referee did his best to control he low blows. You don’t want a fight to end in disqualification. But taking those shots effects everything.
EDDIE RAMIREZ
“Ik ben blij. We worked hard and this is another step. We’re going to keep working hard. I have what it takes to be a world champion.
Ryan Karl is a tough fighter. He came to give it all he had. He didn’t want to quit, but we broke him down and got the win.
Karl and I both came to win. Someone’s perfect record had to go. There was no quit in him. I was going to finish the fight in the last round.
My plan was to break him down. I never wanted this fight to go to decision. I did what I had to do.
I’m aiming high. Ik wil de beste te bestrijden. If I keep working hard everything is going to take care of itself and I’ll get where I want to.
I wanted to make him miss a lot while also being aggressive. We were ready to finish him off, we just wanted to go little by little and get the win.
RYAN KARL
I just wasn’t on vanavond. I couldn’t hit my right hand how I wanted to. I give him all the credit. My timing wasn’t right. He looked great and I looked mediocre.
It’s disappointing. Boxing is my job. I lost a lot in there. I have to get better. All that matters is winning the fight.

Here is what Vasquez Jr. had to say about training, his matchup against Collazo and more:
On his upcoming opponent, Luis Collazo:
This is a very challenging fight but one I believe I can win. Now that Collazo is one hundred percent healthy, I know he’s going to be at his best. We both are trying to get back on top so the fans can expect a great fight.
Op zijn recente trainingskamp:
“Het is een geweldig trainingskamp geweest. We got a lot of good southpaw sparring and I feel sharp going into this fight. All the preparation has been done and now it’s time to fight. I’ll be at my best come fight night.
On what he learned from his first defeat:
It was a tough loss in my last fight with the late sub Felix Diaz. Although we fought another southpaw, our game plan was for Collazo, who is a totally different style. In this game, I must be prepared for any style that comes my way. I know that now and I’ll be fully prepared for anything that Collazo brings.

Over wat een overwinning voor zijn carrière zal betekenen:
A win against Collazo will get me right back in the mix of things in the welterweight division. With only one loss on my record, I feel I still have a lot to give to this sport. A victory will open up a path to fight for a world title.

Hier is wat de vechters moest dinsdag zeggen:
SAMMY VASQUEZ JR.
Luis Collazo is a really tough opponent. He’s always game. It doesn’t matter who he fights. I always enjoyed watching him growing up because he’s quick, strong and savvy.
This is a fight I’ve been looking forward to. Collazo has fought everyone and he always gives a great fight. I couldn’t have thought of anybody better to have a great fight on television against. Everyone who knows the two of us, knows we’re going to come to fight.
He’s never really been knocked out, just the mishap in the Thurman fight. Collazo hurt Thurman, and that’s a guy in his prime. Collazo isn’t in his prime, but age is just a number in this sport.
We’re prepared. We know he’s a southpaw just like my last opponent. We were originally supposed to face him before Felix Diaz stepped in. The game plan is for me to dictate how this fight goes. I have to set the pace and control it.
As long as I can control the fight, it’s smooth-sailing for me. I know he’s got a hard head and he’s going to come forward, so I think it’s going to be an exciting fight.
Luis Collazo
Sammy is a tough fighter. He’s been moving up in the ranks and faced some decent opposition. We’re both lefties and I think it’s going to be an explosive fight.
This is another tough fight for me. I’ve been in there with the top guys and everyone knows I’m going to give it my all. I’m grateful to be back in this position. There are great fight fans here in Mississippi and I’m going to give them something to cheer about.
I’m blessed to be able to do what I love to do and I do it with passion and drive. I hope everyone enjoys what happens op donderdag nacht, because I know I will.
I’ve been in this game for 17 years as a pro. I’ve seen every type of fighter. We’ll find outDonderdag night how much I have left. Sometimes fighters can get counted out, but people don’t understand what’s going on behind the scenes. My preparation for this fight was great and we’ll find out Donderdag if it translates to the ring.
YORDENIS UGAS
“Ik kijk ernaar uit om deze strijd. I hope to give a great performance and continue on my way toward a world title.
I’ve had a perfect training camp and I’m prepared to get a victory. This is my time to make another statement to all of the top fighters in the division. I’m ready for any challenge.
LEVAN GHVAMICHAVA
I’ve worked very hard in training camp to prepare for this fight. I’m excited to be here and have this opportunity to give the fans a great show.
I’m going to give it my all in the ring and make sure I walk out of there with the victory. I know that I have a tough opponent, but I’m confident in my training and my skills.

Collazo gave world champion Keith Thurman trouble in his last outing, staggering him with a body shot in the middle rounds before eventually losing to the undefeated fighter.
Ugas returned from a two-year layoff in August and has looked sensational in defeating undefeated prospects Jamal James by decision and Bryant Perrella by fourth-round stoppage. Trained by Virgil Hunter in California, Ghvamichava is originally from Poti, Georgia. NICE, CALIF. (Juli 13, 2016) – Weltergewicht mededinger Levan Ghvamichava (17-2-1, 13 KO) scored two knockdowns before stopping Breidis Prescott (29-8, 21 KO) in the seventh round of the main event Dinsdag nacht op Premier Boxing Champions TOE-tot-teen DINSDAG op FS1 en Boksen Champions on FOX Deportes from Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino in Nice, Californië.
Ghvamichava outworked and outslugged Prescott, knocking him down in round four before knocking him down again in round seven and eventually forcing the stoppage. Prescott got off to a fast start, using his length and a strong right hand to dictate action in the first frame.
Prescott couldn’t keep up the work rate however, as Ghvamichava began to close the distance and created more toe-to-toe exchanges. In de vierde ronde, Ghvamichava connected with a left hook and a right cross that dropped Prescott, who was able to beat the count and get back on his feet.
After the knockdown, Prescott attempted to revert to his round-one form by boxing and using his jab, but the persistent Ghvamichava kept working hard to get inside on the taller fighter. The hard work paid off in round seven when Prescott was severely staggered with a right hand before being sent to the canvas by a left hook.
Prescott was unable to recover as he beat the count narrowly but was on shaky ground. He hit the canvas two more times, both ruled pushes by the referee before a hard combination by Ghvamichava in the corner forced referee Michael Margado to stop the fight at 2:37 of round seven.
Ten tijde van de onderbreking, Ghvamichava had thrown nearly 100 more punches than Prescott (495-397) and had out landed him 134 naar 110.
The co-main event of the night saw Marcos Hernandez (8-0, 2 KO) earn a unanimous decision in a competitive and entertaining eight-round super welterweight brawl against previously unbeaten Thomas Hill (6-1, 1 KO).
Hernandez and Hill went back and forth from start to finish in the first eight round bout of either prospect’s career. Hill looked to dictate the action with his jab and body work, but it was Hernandez who had more success throughout the night with his left hand and various uppercuts.
The sixth round saw Hill lose a point early on in the round for a low blow. The deduction clearly increased the urgency in Hill who pressed forward, delivering the best action of the fight. Hill pushed the pace but Hernandez withstood the strong combinations and repeatedly caught Hill with strong left hands. Outside of staggering Hill once early in the seventh round, both fighters continued to throw hard punches all the way to the final bell.
The punch stats reflected the close nature of the fight as Hernandez out landed Hill 161 naar 157 while it was Hill who had the slight edge in accuracy, landing 33 percent of his punches to 31 percent for Hernandez. Even without the point deduction, the judges still preferred Hernandez, who landed the more significant punches, and gave him the decision by scores of 79-72, 78-73 en 77-74.
The opening bout of the telecast saw middleweight prospect Malcolm McAllister (8-0, 8 KO) remain unbeaten with a stoppage victory over Gilberto Yoruba (7-3, 4 KO). Yoruba did not come out for the eighth and final round after McAllister dominated the first seven rounds of the fight.
McAllister controlled the fight by working off of his strong jab with powerful right hands and hooks to the body. Yoruba continued to come forward throughout the fight, wildly throwing numerous overhand rights looking to stun the undefeated prospect.
After staggering Yoruba several times in round four, McAllister really began to do damage when he teed off on Yoruba with multiple unanswered shots to close out the frame. The one-sided action showed in the punch stats as McAllister out landed Yoruba 184 naar 76 eventually leading to a frustrated Yoruba being deducted a point in round six for low blows.
