Here is what Flores had to say about training camp, his matchup and more:
On his recent training camp:
I’ve had a tough training camp with a lot of hard, but smart training. I stepped up my strength and conditioning, in addition to going back to the basics. My coach, Aaron Navarro and I, agreed that it would be best to focus on the fundamentals of boxing. I’m in great shape and plan on performing at a high level.
On his matchup with Chris Avalos
At this level in my career there are no easy fights. Chris Avalos has been in the ring with some of the best fighters in the world and I’m expecting a grueling fight. I know he’s coming to win, but I believe I have the skills to come out on top. It’s going to be one of those hard-fought fights that the fans can appreciate.
On returning to FS1 and FOX Deportes in another tough fight after suffering his first defeat:
Fighting in the main event on FS1 and FOX Deportes is exactly what I need right now. It was definitely a hard learning experience suffering my first loss, but one that I took in stride. No fighter ever wants to suffer defeat, but it’s what that fighter does to get back on top that matters. Looking back, I know what I must improve on and everyone will see that improvement against Avalos. It’s very important for me to be fighting in front of a nationally televised audience, because I want to show the world that I have what it takes to get back into world title contention. This type of fight brings out the best in me and my warrior spirit will be shinning on fight night

READING, PA. (Kẹsán 10, 2016) – Middleweight world champion Daniel “Awọn siseyanu Eniyan” Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) retained his title and knocked down former world champion Sergio “The Latin Ejo” Mora (28-5-2, 9 KOs) five times on his way to a seventh-round TKO in the main event of Ijoba Boxing Awọn aṣaju-ija lori Spike Friday night from Santander Arena in Reading, Pa.
The bout was a rematch of their championship fight last August that saw Jacobs win by TKO despite being dropped in the first round. Mora suffered an ankle injury on the punch that ended the last fight but he was not able to capitalize on his second chance.
Jacobs was in control early and often, attacking the body of Mora and switching between orthodox and southpaw styles to stay in control throughout. Mora was evasive and used good head movement to frustrate Jacobs early but could never get his own offense going.
The champion from Brooklyn stayed the course and in round four he broke through with a left hook to the head that sent Mora crumpling to the mat. Mora recovered but again had a knockdown scored against him in round five.
Sensing his moment, Jacobs came out aggressive in the seventh round as he clearly sought an end to the fight. A left right combo dropped Mora in the corner early in the round before he was dropped from a body shot moments after getting back on his feet.
Referee Gary Rosato let the fight continue but Jacobs put a quick end to the night by smothering Mora and dropping him for the fifth and final time, forcing the referee to stop the bout at 2:08 sinu yika.
In front of a raucous and supportive crowd, undefeated nyara Star Robert ajinde (18-0, 14 KOs) earned a narrow split-decision victory over previously unbeaten Richard Commey (24-1, 22 KOs) in a thrilling contest that saw both men grab momentum at different points throughout the 12-round bout.
Easter used his jab and length advantage in round one and appeared to have more success throughout the night when he fought from a distance. The fight vacillated between a tactical battle and a toe-to-toe war by the round and even by the minute.
The Ghanaian Commey was aggressive throughout the fight and had success pushing Easter to the ropes and catching him with big right hands. In round eight, Commey scored a knockdown on one of those right hands, as referee Benjy Esteves ruled that Easter’s glove hit the canvas as a result of the punch.
Easter and Commey both came out firing in round nine, engaging in one of the many exchanges that put the lively crowd on its feet. Easter had great success throughout the night with his right uppercut that consistently caught Commey coming in, but never deterred him completely.
Both men reached the 12-round limit for the first time in their careers but it was Easter who took advantage of the final stanza by rocking and wobbling Commey with a big overhand right just seconds into the round.
Commey was able to survive on the ropes and by consistently wrapping up his opponent. Both men were lifted to the air in triumph by their trainers after the final bell rang as the crowd cheered the two combatants. In the end the judges scored the fight 114-113 for Commey and 115-112 ati 114-113 for Easter.

I have to take my hat off to Sergio Mora. There was a lot of talking before this fight, sugbon yi ni Boxing. I respect any man who gets inside of this ring.
I want to prove to the world that I’m the best middleweight. If GGG gets the victoryọla, that’s who we want.
I wanted to go in there to hurt him and keep my knockout streak alive. I did what I said I would.
I didn’t expect to knock him down as much, but I did see the fight ending in a knockout. It took a while because he’s so tricky. I wasn’t able to jab the way I wanted to. That’s what happens when you fight guys who have been in the game for a long time.
The support of my city means a lot. There are guys here that I’ve known since kindergarten. People showed me love across the board and it was tremendous. For them to be on this journey with me, it means everything. I’m living my dream.
This one’s for Brooklyn. We have to spread the love around but I’ll be back home in December headlining at Barclays Center.
Sergio Mora
The guy punches really hard. I was trying to catch him like I did in the first fight but I couldn’t do it today.
We expected him to fight the way he did. He’s big and powerful. I knew I would have to catch him with a few shots and take him into the later rounds. I think I was doing that until my legs couldn’t recover.
I’m not going to take anything away from his victory, but I never recovered from a shot to the back of the head. They counted it as a knockdown so I’ll have to take a look at the video, but it felt like the back of the head.
This guy is a big overwhelming figure. When he got on top of me I could feel his weight. You really need those legs to wake up when you get buzzed.
The fight was close in my heart. Daniel finally gave me credit. I didn’t feel like I got beat up, he just caught me with good shots. I have a lot left in me. I’m going to look at the tape and see where I’m at.
Robert Ajinde
It’s been a long training camp. We had an amazing training camp. This fight wasn’t easy at all. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Richard Commey is a tough, tough competitor. He made me fight each and every round, but we did it.
The game plan was to go out there and box him and use my length and reach. I made a few mistakes lalẹ. One of them was not fighting him early enough. It wouldn’t have been close. In the last round, when I needed the round, I went out and got it.
I took everything that I had, all 16 years in the sport, and I used it to go get that belt.
You always have to stay composed as a professional. I wasn’t hurt at all on the knockdown. I know what happened in there. He threw a shorter right hand and I stumbled. I finished the round tough.
Early in the fight I thought I hurt him with a hook and right hand combo. In the last round I caught him right on the chin. That wobbled him. He held on for dear life.
I knew it was going to come down to a split decision. I felt in my heart that I did enough. He missed a lot of shots.
I want more straps. I want belts. This is huge for my city. It means a lot. It’s bigger than me. I wanted to give them something to believe in.
All this hard work we had to put in for this fight, we had to dig in deep. I did this for my city and Toledo came out for me lalẹ.”
RICHARD COMMEY
I feel like I won this fight. I did everything that I could. I landed the more accurate shots. I come from very far and it’s hard to win here versus an American. I deserve a rematch.
I was very devastated when I heard the scores. I knew it was a close fight. He went down and I didn’t.
I want to be a world champion. Even if he doesn’t want to fight me, I want another opportunity. I can fight at the highest level in the world. We worked so hard to get to this stage. I want to stay at this level. I’ll keep improving.

The Nashville-native was able to keep his perfect record intact and was in control from start to finish of his first 10-round bout. Plant was patient in the early rounds, looking to find the distance against his power-punching opponent.
Plant’s offense began to break through in round three and in round four he caught De Angel lingering in the pocket and dropped him with a left hook. De Angel got to his feet but was never able to get his own offense going and spent much of the night trying to tie up the more aggressive Plant.
In the ninth round, a clash of heads caused a temporary halt in the action and saw Plant emerge with a cut on his head. Plant was able to battle through and and kept his momentum going throughout the remainder of the fight.
Plant was twice as accurate as De Angel and landed 30 percent of his punches compared to 15 percent from De Angel. The judges saw the bout the same and all scored it 100-89 after 10-rounds of super middleweight action.
The co-main event of the night saw a pair of Washington, D.C. welterweights do battle as David Grayton (15-1, 11 KOs) earned a victory over previously unbeaten Kareem Martin (8-1-1, 3 KOs) via a stoppage in the eighth and final round.
The southpaw Grayton pressed forward early and often, looking to disrupt Martin and keep him uncomfortable. Martin was sharp early on, especially with right hand counters. He was the more accurate fighter over the first three rounds, but the experience of Grayton began to take over.
As the fight went on, Grayton’s attack gained effectiveness and Martin appeared to wear down from the constant pace. Grayton out threw Martin 537 si 308 and landed 172 punches to Martin’s 106.
Grayton took control of the fight in the sixth round, hurting Martin early with a blistering body attack and rocked him late in the round with crisp uppercuts. By round eight, Martin had faded and Grayton sensed his moment. A left hand to the body dropped Martin early, and while he beat the count, Grayton quickly pounced and delivered a flurry that caused referee Benjy Esteves Jr. lati da awọn ija 41 aaya sinu yika.
Two-time Ecuadorian Olympian Carlos Gongora (6-0, 5 KOs)started the telecast off with an impressive first round stoppage of previously unbeaten Ronald Mixon (7-1, 6 KOs) in their light heavyweight clash.
Gongora wasted little time, feinting a right hook and following with a thudding overhand left that put Mixon on the mat immediately. The knockdown prompted referee Gary Rosato to wave off the count and stop the bout 1:16 sinu awọn akọkọ yika.

It’s another win in the bag. I had bounce in my legs for all 10 iyipo. I was taking my time in there and I feel like I’m getting better each fight.
I’ll fight whoever my team has lined up for me. It feels great to win as a headliner. We’re going to get right back in the gym and get ready for another fight.
JUAN DE ANGEL
I felt the size difference in the ring. I trained for a southpaw and he came out righty. That caught me off guard. He was better tonight.
DAVID GRAYTON
I was very motivated to perform well coming off of my loss. I wanted it more tonight and I wanted to make a statement to get back to where I belong.
I knew I had him hurt late in the fight and I kept hitting him with left hands. I stepped it up and got him out of there.
I’m going to go back to the gym and train hard and wait for my next fight.
KAREEM MARTIN
I lost a little focus and he caught me with a good shot that led to the stoppage.
It was a good back and forth fight. We were both getting a lot of shots in. I just need to come back with more focus next time.
CARLOS GONGORA
I was prepared and I analyzed his style and how he would fight. I knew I just had to connect with the right punch.
I want to dedicate this victory to my family and my whole country. It was a pleasure to do it on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
I am going straight to the top and I appreciate this opportunity to show the world who I am.

“Mo lero nla. I got some great rounds. The judges might have made it a little bit closer than it really was. But I went into his hometown and did what I do.
He was about as tough as my last fight. The only thing tougher than the last one was that I had to come here on the road and do it.
This builds me. It makes me a better fighter. I had a great opportunity tonight and I jumped on it. I feel like I’m the better fighter and tonight I proved it.
FRANK DEALBA
It was a very competitive fight. I think I landed more punches. He was more aggressive, but I was landing more.
This is boxing. I just come here to put on a show for the great fans. Mo ro mo ti gba awọn ija. I knew I beat him inside.
MIGUEL CRUZ
“O je kan nla ija, he was a tough opponent who was very agile and mobile. I had to be patient and it was great to get those rounds. I’m coming for the 147-pound division.
I was definitely trying to break him down slowly. He was mobile, but I didn’t expect him to be so quick.
I was hurting him every time I hit him and I finally got him out of there.
VIRGIL GREEN
The hits to the back of the head were the problem. I wanted the ref to do something about it but that’s what hurt me. I never recovered from it.
I felt like I was frustrating him and out-boxing him. But I never recovered from that blow.
CHRISTOPHER BROOKER
“O je kan ti o dara ija. O si ni kan ti o dara afẹṣẹja, but I had to keep it rough. He has some good experience that kicked in, but my will, my heart and my training kicked in too.
My loss is what got me motivated for this performance. No more setbacks, only get backs.

I pushed myself. We got in there and fought. Nibẹ ni ko si excuses. We’re going back to work.
