The main event of LFA 42 will feature a welterweight war between former LFA welterweight champion Derrick “D-Rock” Krantz and knockout artist Kassius “Killa” Kayne. Krantz (21-10) captured the inaugural LFA welterweight championship twelve months ago with a performance that is considered the magnum opus of his impressive MMA career. The powerhouse from Texas is always itching for a good old-fashioned fist fight and unloaded his formidable fistolas on Ben Neumann in the main event of LFA 12 to capture his second world title. Two years earlier, Krantz accomplished a nearly identical feat against UFC vet Brock Larson to win the Legacy FC welterweight title. Krantz lost his LFA title via Split Decision in a closely contested bout with former University of Nebraska wrestling standout James Nakashima at LFA 23, but he bounced back with a dominant win over longtime Legacy FC vet Artenas Young in March. The 30-year-old former champ now has his sights set on another fighter who has made a name for himself in Nebraska. That would be the man known as “Killa Kayne”.

 

 

 

Kayne (12-4) is one of the most exciting fighters to hail from the “內布拉斯加州居民州” of Nebraska. That is where the proud Nebraskan knocked out highly-touted Hawaiian prospect Maki Pitolo seventeen months ago to win a regional title in his hometown of Omaha. Since that notable night in his career, “Killa Kayne” has taken his talents to the LFA Octagon. The two-time RFA vet made his LFA debut in his home state this past October at LFA 25. He stopped fellow RFA vet Jordon Larson via TKO in a showdown between two of the Midwest’s most popular fighters. Kayne continued his winning ways just two weeks ago, when he scored a quick TKO win over Ivey Nixon in a local show. Now he returns to the LFA Octagon to battle a former LFA champion at a neutral location. Branson, Missouri is the midway point between Kayne’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska and Krantz’s hometown of Marshall, 得克薩斯州.

HOUSTON, 得克薩斯州 – 傳統格鬥聯盟 (LFA) and the two promotions that merged to create it, RFA and Legacy FC, were well-represented and shined on the biggest stage when the UFC traveled to the state capital of Texas 星期日 夜晚.

Nine former fighters competed, which included five former champions. This included former titleholders from LFA, RFA, and Legacy FC. The nine fighters included Derrick Lewis, 柯蒂斯Millender, Steven Peterson, 賢者Northcutt, Diego Ferreira, Geoff Neal, Brian Camozzi, Roberto Sanchez, and Alex Morono. That group made up 37.5% of the entire card. Seven of the nine fighters were victorious, but that is because one of the fights pitted two of these fighters against each other. The other loss, resulted in a $50,000 “夜撲滅” bonus and also received widespread praise.
“I was excited to watch so many of the talented fighters from LFA, RFA, and Legacy do so well at UFC: 奧斯汀星期日 夜晚,” stated LFA CEO Ed Soares. “The goal of LFA is to develop top prospects, so when they get to the UFC, they will continue to impress under the bright lights of the UFC for years to come.”

Millender made his UFC debut on the main card just one month after winning the main event of LFA 30. The win at LFA 30 was Millender’s third straight win in an LFA headliner and his second straight via Head Kick KO. The win earned him a UFC contract and a debut fight against a former UFC title challenger in Thiago Alves. 這陣子, he used a knee to score the walk-off KO. Ferreira, a former Legacy FC lightweight champion, showed no signs of ring rust as he picked up a quick TKO win in less than two minutes into the final fight of the preliminary card. The win came after Ferreira made a come back to the sport after a two-year layoff. In the bout before Ferreira’s successful return, it was a battle of LFA / Legacy FC star Geoff Neal and former RFA welterweight champion Brian Camozzi. Neal made a big statement in his UFC debut and picked up the win via Rear Naked Choke.
Sanchez also picked up his first UFC win. The inaugural LFA flyweight champion earned a submission win via Rear Naked Choke less than two-minutes into the bout. Morono got things moving in the right direction for our LFA/RFA/Legacy FC alum, when the former Legacy FC welterweight champion submitted longtime UFC vet Josh Burkman via Guillotine Choke early in Round 1.

LFA ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF NICK NEWELL
HOUSTON, 得克薩斯州 – 傳統格鬥聯盟 (LFA) officials announced today that Nick Newell (13-1) has signed a multi-fight deal with LFA.
Nick Newell was born with congenital amputation of his left arm. 其結果, his left arm ends just below his elbow. Newell did not let this deter him, as he went on to have a successful collegiate wrestling career, earning over 300 victories throughout high school and college.
After going 5-1 in his amateur MMA career, Newell turned pro and took the MMA world by storm with his inspiring story. Newell would go on to amass an undefeated streak of 11-0, finishing all but one of his opponents in that time. His lone professional defeat was against former World Series of Fighting Lightweight Champion and currently ranked #5 UFC Lightweight, 賈斯汀Gaethje (18-0). Newell won two more bouts after his loss to Gaethje and subsequently retired from MMA in 2015 after suffering numerous injuries.
A date and opponent for Newell’s LFA debut are still undetermined at this time.

The main event of LFA 20 will feature a welterweight war between rising star Chad “Blitz” Curry and former RFA title challenger Nick “The Phoenix” 巴恩斯. Curry (9-1) has transformed himself from one of Minnesota’s most popular fighters to one of the sport’s most exciting and promising prospects. The man aptly known as “Blitz” has decimated his last two opponents since moving up to welterweight. 事實上, all nine men that he has defeated, never saw the final round. Curry is able to do this by utilizing a unique blend of technical grappling and stout ground-and-pound. The 27-year-old Minnesotan now faces a huge test as he gets set to headline his first televised event at LFA 20.
巴恩斯 (11-2) makes his LFA debut roughly twelve months after competing for the RFA welterweight world title. The co-main event of LFA 20 will feature a highly-anticipated match-up between two of the promotion’s top featherweightcontenders. 鮑比 “狼人” 莫菲特 (9-2) 和 “Nasty” Nate Jennerman (9-2) will face off in a high-stakes affair as the two contenders jockey for position at the top of the division. The pair of featherweight standouts share more than just identical records. They both have roots in the famed RFA promotion. Kobold (18-3-1) is one of the most respected women in the sport. She has enjoyed an illustrious professional MMA career that dates back fifteen years. A true pioneer in women’s MMA, the warrior known as “Blood Red” has been there moving behind the scenes, cutting a bloody path through the ages until suddenly, just like that, she up and disappeared in 2011. Now she is back at 125-pounds, ready to stake a claim at the top of the division.
Stanley (5-3) will be the woman waiting to welcome Kobold back to the sport she helped pioneer. The San Diego native has built a career around an explosive striking base that has earned her a reputation as one of the most feared knockout artists in the division. The RFA vet holds one of the fastest knockouts in combat sports. That knockout came in 5-seconds with a highlight reel Flying Spinning Hook Kick back in 2014. “指關節” has earned four of her five wins by way of KO or TKO and now looks to pick up the biggest win of her career at LFA 20.
