NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan (Október 20, 2019) – Kazakh Power was on display at yesterday’sM-1 Challenge 105, in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, in which they won five of six fights, including a pair of M-1 Challenge titles, and a draw.

In the main event and a rematchSergey Morozov (16-4), Kasakstan, fended off American challengerJosh “The Finisher” Rettinghouse (16-5), winning a five-round unanimous decision to successfully defend his M-1 Challenge bantamweight title.

Morozov won his fifth straight and sixth fight in his last seven since his original match and loss to Rettinghouse. Morozov captured the M-1 Challenge bantamweight title last June atM-1 Challenge 102, also held in Nur-Sultan, when he stopped previously unbeatenAlexander Osetrov í fjórðu umferð.

Almabaev (11-2), fighting out of Kazakhstan, was a relatively late replacement for his fellow countryman, former M-1 Challenge Interim flyweight championArman Ashimov, who was forced to withdraw due to an injury suffered during training camp.

Judges were working overtime on this highly competitive card as eight of 12 bouts went the full distance, including two draws and three split decisions. NAZRAN, Ingushetia, Rússland (Desember 9, 2016) – Rising Russian MMA star Magomed Idriosov knocked out Ivan “Þetta er” Buchinger in the opening round of kvöld er M-1 Challenge 73: Orrustan Narts main event to become M-1 Challenge bantamweight champion.

Morrison (15-7-0, M-1: 2-4-0) and Rettinghouse (13-4-0, M-1: 1-0-0) are both fighting out of the state of Washington.
Morrison faces undefeated Russian prospect Moysar Evoloev (5-0-0, M-1: 5-0-0) in a fight contested at a 140-pounds (63.5 kíló) catchweight. Morrison is a grappler (see photo below with him in top position) who defeated current M-1 Challenge bantamweight title-holder Pavel Vitruk by decision at M-1 Challenge 58.
Fighting at home in Ingushetia, Evloev is also a grappler who is coming off a first-round knockout of Alexander Krupenkin this past May at M-1 Challenge 66 (pictured below).

Morozov, fighting out of Kazakhstan, is an outstanding striker and well-rounded MMA fighter. He was on the wrong end of the M-1 Challenge 68 Fight of the Night last July in a loss by decision to Rafael Dias.
Á M-1 Challenge 59, Morozov (pictured below) was awarded the Knockout of the Night award for his demolishing of Andy Young a year ago July.
An impressive victory will position the Rettinghouse-Morozov winner for a potential M-1 Challenge bantamweight title fight with defending champion Vitruk.
