WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 29 IS A MATTER OF RESPECT

FOR UMIDDELBAR RELEASE: Lewiston, Maine (Mai 9, 2017) - “I wanna knock her out!” Those were the emphatic words of Alex Walker (3-1) when asked last weekend at “NEF 28” for her prediction on her upcoming fight with Sarah Ziehm (1-0). The crowd at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee erupted in response.

 

Walker and Ziehm are scheduled to face off when New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Colisee onLørdag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” Walker, a two-fight veteran of the NEF cage and a member of Lancaster, New Hampshire’s Team Kaze, has made it her mission to teach Ziehm a lesson in respect for what Walker viewed as a “cocky” performance in Ziehm’s debut earlier this year.

 

“I have respect for 99% of the females I do battle with, but I do not respect her,” said Walker when reached for comment. “I don’t like the way she handled herself in her first fight, I think she needs to be humbled and I will do that in June – if she even shows up! My manager told (NEF matchmaker) Matt Peterson to have a backup because she will come up with an excuse not to get a beating.”

 

Ziehm made her MMA debut last February with a win over Nicole Burgess (0-2). She submitted Burgess in the third round after a dominant performance. (Of note, Walker also submitted Burgess in the third round just a few months earlier.) Ziehm trains with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) i Lewiston.

 

“This will be a good battle,” predicted Ziehm. “Alex is a seasoned and skilled warrior. I’m not underestimating her at all. I’m excited to get back into cage and do some work.”

FOR UMIDDELBAR RELEASE: Lewiston, Maine (Mai 5, 2017) -Ny England Fights (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Lørdag, Juni 17, 2017 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 29: STARS & STRIPES.” The event will feature a full slate of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing bouts. Tidligere i dag, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Matt “Ken Doll” Denning (4-6) vil ta på Dominic “Domination” Jones (1-0) at a weight of 145-pounds. Both athletes are coming off wins last weekend at “NEF 28.”

 

Denning entered the cage six days ago looking to break a four-fight skid. The Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) featherweight worked his ground game and submitted Josh Parker (5-9) with a Guillotine Choke in the first round. He donated a portion of his earnings for the fight to Derek Shorey’s (4-9) family members recently left homeless by a fire in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Denning has now vowed revenge for his teammate, Tollison Lewis (1-6), who fell to Jones last weekend, and he has committed to going undefeated for the remainder of the year.

 

“I’m excited to continue my fighting career with New England Fights,” sa Denning. “I’m coming for another win against someone who just TKO’d my teammate. He seems like a nice kid and a solid wrestler, but I’m a better striker and have far superior jiu-jitsu! I’m not losing again this year! See you guys June 17th.”

 

After a takedown early in the first round, Dom Jones was able to do exactly what his nickname says – dominate – against Tollison Lewis last Saturday night at “NEF 28.” Jones used his wrestling to smother Lewis, defending submission attempts in the process, and pounding a TKO win out of Lewis in the final minute of the first round. The bout was Jones’ first in Maine after a lengthy amateur career in his previous home state of Florida. Jones predicts that he will be the one walking away with a two-fight win streak on Juni 17.

 

“I’m excited for this match up,” stated Jones. “Wrestling versus jiu-jitsu! Igjen, our gyms clash! It’s a good fight for me. Denning has worked to get where he is now, and I respect his work he has put in. I have to fight smart and not get caught. Slik som June 17th, when that cage door closes, I’m walking out 2-0! Lewiston, Maine (Mars 1, 2017) – New England Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE” på lørdag, April 29, 2017 på Androscoggin Bank Colisee i Lewiston, Maine. Tidligere i dag, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Matt “Ken Doll” Denning (3-6) vil møte Josh Parker (5-8) på en kamp vekt på 145-pounds.

The fight will mark the culmination of months of trash talking on social media between Denning and Parker’s camp. Denning, a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Auburn, Maine and a veteran of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) cage, will be looking to rebound from a loss to Ricky Dexter (1-0) forrige måned på “NEF 27.”

“After Josh’s win over Derek Shorey, I wanted to fight him,” Denning said. “På papiret, both of our last wins were against the same opponent (Shorey). I thought the fight made sense. He spent the vast majority of that time competing in the boxing ring, yet it was a submission that Parker used to overcome Shorey. For Parker, the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine, the fight with Denning is not business as usual. The nature of the trash talking has turned personal, and Parker vows vengeance for what he sees as disrespect on Denning’s part.

“There comes a time in every fighter’s career that the fight has nothing to do with records or money,” Said Parker. “It’s to prove a point. My name has come out of this kid’s mouth too many times. På April 29th, I’m gonna shut it.”

FOR UMIDDELBAR RELEASE: Lewiston, Maine (November 19, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts (MMA) begivenhet, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY” on Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. The promotion presented a total of 14 MMA bouts before a robust crowd of fight fans.

 

Blood flowed early and it continued to flow liberally throughout the night.

 

I hovedturneringen av kvelden, Ryan Sanders (12-8) beseiret Jon Lemke (5-7) via unanimous technical decision. The fight was stopped in the third round when Lemke suffered a deep cut on his head. With the fight being in the third round, under the Unified Rules of MMA the judges’ scorecards were called upon for a verdict. NEF 26 MMA CARD FEATURES WOMEN’S FIGHTS, TITLE FIGHTS, RETURNS, DEBUTS AND MORE

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 21, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY,” på lørdag, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Tidligere i dag, NEF executives announced the full fight card for the event which will be the fight promotion’s grand finale for 2016.

 

I hovedturneringen, “Den” Ryan Sanders (10-8) vil møte Jon Lemke (5-6) in a professional lightweight bout. It will be Sanders’ first fight in Lewiston since November 2014. Much has been made of the fact that Sanders and Lemke are former teammates. The bout is considered a “dream match” by Maine fight fans, especially those from the Bangor-area familiar with the rivalry between Sanders’ camp Young’s MMA and Lemke’s camp Team Irish.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature an interesting “coach vs. trener” kamp. “Splint 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7), head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, is scheduled to face Ruthless MMA & Boxing founder Josh Parker (4-8) in a professional featherweight contest. Shorey is coming off a big win in Rhode Island earlier this fall, while Parker will be returning to the MMA cage after spending the last three years competing as a boxer.

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be undefeated prospect Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (3-0) og Taylor Trahan (6-6) i en fjærvekt bout. Lacey and Trahan both submitted their respective opponents at “NEF 25” siste måned. Many local followers of the sport feel that Lacey is just a handful of wins away from getting the call to the major league of the sport. Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner’s The Academy in Portland, Maine will send two new fighters to the cage at “NEF 26.” Chad Pierce (0-0) will debut against Shatterproof’s Lyman Curtis (0-0), mens Phil Chiasson (0-0) oppfyller Rik Seymour (0-0) of 3Ronin Athletics. Both bouts will take place in the 155-pound lightweight division.

SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 4, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 26: SUPREMACY,” på lørdag, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

 

“I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” Said Parker. “Jeg gleder meg til å komme tilbake i buret. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fight – don’t miss it!”

BOXERS LOOK TO GET ON THE WINNING TRACK AT NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Mars 29, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), USAs nummer-én regional kamp forfremmelse, avholder sitt neste arrangement, “NEF 22: Alle veier fører HER” på Lørdag, April 23, 2016 på Androscoggin Bank Colisée i Lewiston, Maine. The fight card will feature a mix of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing bouts. Tidligere i dag, NEF announced the addition of a professional junior welterweight bout to the boxing portion of the “NEF 22” fight card. Josh Parker (0-2-1) er planlagt å møte Evincii “Prize Fighter” Dixon (7-13-1, 2 KOs) i en fire-runde konkurranse.

 

Josh Parker is the founder and head coach of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. Prior to entering the boxing ranks, Parker was a regular in the NEF MMA cage. He boxed to a draw against fellow NEF MMA alum Elias Leland (0-0-1) last November in Lewiston. Sist, Parker dropped a decision to undefeated Julio Perez (4-0) on a boxing card in Rhode Island. He is hungry for his first victory as a professional boxer.

 

“I want to thank NEF for another opportunity to fight,” Said Parker. “I have a lot to prove. My skills have not been reflected in my past few performances. I’ve switched up some aspects of my training and I’m confident that I will finally be able to bring the real me to the ring. I will be facing an experienced opponent who will present some tough challenges for me – which is exactly what I wanted. The toughest opponent I’ve ever faced is myself, and now that I’ve figured him out, it doesn’t matter who’s standing in front of me.”

 

A veteran of more than twenty professional fights, Evincii Dixon has been one of the northeast’s most active boxers since his debut in the summer of 2013. Dixon, who calls Lancaster, Pennsylvania his home, often fights multiple times in a given month in places as far away as Texas, California and, nylig, Ohio. He made the 500-mile trek to Lewiston, Maine last month, picking up a win in the NEF ring against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (7-26-3). Dixon will be looking to get back in the win column at “NEF 22” after a loss last weekend.

NEW SPORT, SAMME FIGHTING PASSION FOR JOSH PARKER

Lewiston, Maine (November 5, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), USAs nummer-én regional kamp forfremmelse, avholder sitt neste arrangement, “NEF XX: A History of Violence” på Lørdag, November 21, 2015 på Androscoggin Bank Colisée i Lewiston, Maine. The event will feature a first for Maine – mixed-kampsport- (MMA) bouts and professional boxing bouts on the same event with an MMA cage and a boxing ring set up side-by-side. In a featured lightweight professional boxing match, Josh Parker (0-1) har signert til ansikt Elias “Danger Mouse” Leland (0-0) i en fire-runde konkurranse.

Opened in 2014 og basert ut av Benton, Maine, Ruthless is one of the standout new teams emerging on the Maine fight scene consisting of scrappy young athletes. Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 23, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), USAs nummer-én regional kamp forfremmelse, avholder sitt neste arrangement, “NEF XX: A History of Violence” på Lørdag, November 21, 2015 på Androscoggin Bank Colisée i Lewiston, Maine. The event will feature a first for Maine – mixed-kampsport- (MMA) bouts and professional boxing bouts on the same event with an MMA cage and a boxing ring set up side-by-side. Tidligere i dag, fremming annonserte full kampen kort for hendelsen.

 

Den profesjonelle bokse delen av kortet blir headlinet av Nordøst Junior weltervekt Champion Brandon “Cannon” Berry (9-1) in an eight-round bout against former Mexican Pacific Coast Super Featherweight Champion Roberto “Gamle” Valenzuela (73-69-2, 56 KOs). Berry triumphantly returned to action last summer after suffering a severe shoulder injury in a November 2014 end.

A women’s strawweight fight will feature Randi Beth Boyington (1-1) vendt Erin “Fun Size” LaMonte (3-0).
