NEW YORK – October 29, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a bantamweight (135 פונט) main event matchup between superstar Erik “El Goyito” Perez (18-6) and prolific finisher Andres “Doble A” Ayala (12-6) for the Mixed Martial Arts (ממאַ) sports franchise’s return to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, מעקסיקא, אויף שבת, נאוועמבער. 17, live in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 פּ.ם. עט / 7 פּ.ם. פּט), and live on television in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 אַ.ם. עט / פּט) and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) (12 אַ.ם. The addition of the matchup between the two 28-year-old competitors completes the Combate Americas fight card, which will take place at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido, מיט 10 ענדס.

 

A native of Monterrey who fights out of San Diego, קאַליף., USA, Perez will seek his fifth straight victory after making his Combate Americas promotional debut in stunning fashion, avenging a previous defeat at the hands of old rival David “D.J.” Fuentes by scoring a third round (1:22) נאַקאַוט (פּאַנטשיז) on Fuentes in the main event of “Combate Estrellas II” at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido on April 20.

Perez was slated to face off with knockout artist John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda in a Combate Americas headlining contest on October 13, but the matchup was called off after Castaneda was forced to withdraw due to a staph infection that he sustained just a week before the commitment.

 

Ayala of Bogota, Colombia is one of his nation’s top ranked bantamweights. He will make his debut in La Jaula, די קאָמבאַטע אמעריקע שטייַג, on the heels of a TKO (ground and pound) victory on Guido Gongora in a main event bout in Barranquilla, Colombia on July 27.

In Mexico, the event delivered over 4 million live broadcast television viewers on Azteca 7.

 

The Facebook LIVE stream of the “Combate Estrellas I” preliminary bout card, which immediately preceded the 90-minute live television airing of the main card, delivered over 294,000 streams.

NEW YORK – מאַרץ 29, 2018 – Univision Deportes and Combate Americas, the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (ממאַ) sports franchise, today jointly announced a historic, multi-year partnership to produce and distribute live Combate Americas fight programming on Univision and Univision Deportes Network (UDN).

Kyra Batara vs. Paulina Granados
The 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, נעוו., a former high school cheerleader turned grappling expert, is coming off a stellar, רגע קייַלעכיק (3:46) submission of 12-time Spanish national judo champion Vanesa Rico at “Combate Clasico” in Miami, פלאַ. אויף יולי 27.

צו דאַטע, Batara is unbeaten in Combate Americas television action, winning all four of her bouts – three by way of submission.

Granados is a 29-year-old native of Corpus Christi, טעקסאַס, now fighting out of San Diego, קאַליף. where she trains with a handful of the world’s top fighters.

Granados will look to notch her third straight victory on December 1.

Andres Quintana vs. Rey Trujillo

Quintana is a heavy-handed, 26-year-old rising star fighting out of Roswell, נ.ם. He is aiming for his third consecutive victory after earning back-to-back unanimous decisions over ורידזשאַה פאַבער פּראָטעקטעד Erick סאַנטשעז and Mexican contender Levy Saul Marroquin אויף פעברואַר 16 and June 30, ריספּעקטיוולי.

The 35-year-old Trujillo of Houston, Texas is a battle-tested, eight-year veteran of professional MMA.

Jose Estrada vs. Jesse Vasquez

The 26-year-old Estrada’s return to action comes on the heels of a successful debut at featherweight on סעפּטעמבער 15 when the Fillmore, קאַליף. resident stopped Izic Fernandez with a series of vicious strikes on the ground in the first round (3:59) פון שלאַכט.

One of the sport’s top, young prospects, Estrada has already produced memorable, highlight reel-worthy moments, defeating his first three professional adversaries inside of one round.

Fighting out of Dallas, טעקסאַס, the 28-year-old Vasquez will look to rebound from two straight defeats.
