NEW YORK – October 29, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a bantamweight (135 liri) main event matchup between superstar Erik “El Goyito” Perez (18-6) and prolific finisher Andres “Doble A” Ayala (12-6) for the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise’s return to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Messiku, nhar is-Sibt, Novembru. 17, live in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT), and live on television in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET / PT) and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT).

 

The addition of the matchup between the two 28-year-old competitors completes the Combate Americas fight card, which will take place at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido, ma 10 truf.

Airing exclusively on UDN in the midnight ET slot the following Friday, April 20, “Combate Estrellas II” delivered another 200,000 total viewers, a 10 percent increase from the first installment of the two-part, “Combate Estrellas” live event series.

Of the total UDN viewers for “Combate Estrellas II," 67 percent were in the 18-49 age group.

 

The Facebook LIVE stream of the “Combate Estrellas II” preliminary bout card garnered over 630,000 streams, more than doubling the online audience from one week earlier.

The agreement marks the first time ever that Univision Deportes will produce and distribute live MMA programming and, fil 2018, will include a total of 16 television airings, beginning with a live, 90-minute broadcast on Univision (12am ET/ 12am PT) and UDN (12am ET/ 9pm PT) of the recently announced “Combate Estrellas I” show at Shrine in Los Angeles, Calif. fuq Il-ġimgħa, April 13.

Kyra Batara vs. Paulina Granados
The 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nev., a former high school cheerleader turned grappling expert, is coming off a stellar, tieni rawnd (3:46) submission of 12-time Spanish national judo champion Vanesa Rico at “Combate Clasico” in Miami, Fla. fuq Lulju 27.

Sal-lum, Batara is unbeaten in Combate Americas television action, winning all four of her bouts – three by way of submission.

Granados is a 29-year-old native of Corpus Christi, Texas, now fighting out of San Diego, Calif. where she trains with a handful of the world’s top fighters.

Granados will look to notch her third straight victory on December 1.

Andres Quintana vs. Rey Trujillo

Quintana is a heavy-handed, 26-year-old rising star fighting out of Roswell, N.M. He is aiming for his third consecutive victory after earning back-to-back unanimous decisions over Urijah Faber protetti Erick Sanchez and Mexican contender Levy Saul Marroquin fuq Frar 16 and June 30, rispettivament.

The 35-year-old Trujillo of Houston, Texas is a battle-tested, eight-year veteran of professional MMA.
