Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz Ordered to Begin Negotiating Guzman vs. Wake Fight for Vacant IBF Super Bantamweight Title

Sampson Boxing Fighters Score Four Impressive KOs in One Weekend
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has been given the go-ahead to begin negotiating a world-title fight between his fighter, explosive KO punching Dominican Jonathan Guzman, and the promoters for Japan’s Shingo Wake.
As per their rules for vacant championships, Lewkowicz, representing Guzman, the IBF #2 Super bantamweight, and Kyoei Promotions representing IBF #1 Wake were ordered to begin negotiations immediately and have them completed no later than June 2 ti odun yi.
Guzmán (21-0, 21 KOs) is hot on the heels of a sensational eight-round stoppage victory over Daniel Rosas last Friday, April 29, ni Atlantic City, in a voluntary eliminator for the #2 spot in the ratings.
Wake (20-4-2, 12 KOs) earned his number one spot by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Mike Tawatchai last June.
Also per IBF rules neither boxer may compete in another match until they face each other.
Any boxer who is contracted with a promoter, a network, or a state, tribal or national commission to take another fight, or who is ill, injured, under a legal impediment which could prevent the bout from taking place in the opinion of the IBF/USBA, or on suspension at the time the Championships Chairman and the President order a bout under this rule shall be considered unavailable. We would then move to the next available contender. Neither fighter can take another fight until this fight for the vacant title is concluded.
In the event the camps cannot reach an agreement by June 2, the IBF will call for purse offers to be held to determine who will promote the bout, when and where it will be held.
The Guzman vs. Wake fight is more good news for Sampson Boxing, who had four different fighters score sensational victories over the weekend.
In addition to the aforementioned Guzman TKO, Sampson Boxing’s Jorge “Pestle” Lara scored a jaw-dropping KO 1 over former world champion Fernando Montiel at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, lojo satide. Lara had the formidable Montiel on the deck four times in a brutal beatdown that only lasted 1:37.
The same night in the same venue, future world champion and boxing prodigy DavidEl Bandera Roja/Red FlagBenavidez destroyed capable New Yorker Phillip Jackson Benson by KO 2. Benavidez, bayi 14-0, 13 KOs, had way too much firepower for Jackson, who entered the ring a respectable 16-2, 15 KOs. The opin wá ni 2:07 with Jackson down and ruled unable to continue without a count being needed. A star on the near horizon in boxing, high network demand means that Benavidez will be back in action in July.
And in his professional debut on Friday night, on the Guzman undercard in Atlantic City, highly decorated amateur star Abraham “Super” Nova turned professional the right way by levelling Delaware’s also debuting Weusi Johnson by KO 1.
Nova, of Braintree, Massachusetts, began his professional career undefeated by putting Weusi to sleep at 2:56 ti akọkọ.
I am looking forward to getting my superstar KO artist Jonathan Guzman his first title shot later this year,” Said Sampson Lewkowicz. “And I give my congratulations to all my other fighters who won by knockout this past weekend. Jorge Lara is back in a big way and headed for a world championship after beating Montiel. David Benavidez is going to become the youngest Mexican super middleweight champion in boxing history and Abraham Nova let the world know he’s here with his power punching. I am proud to be promoting every one of these fighters.

Wo nibi ohun ti awọn olukopa ní láti sọ Wednesday:
Danny O'Connor
“Eleyi jẹ gbogbo nipa mi ija awọn ilana. Gabriel Bracero beat me but I really beat myself. Just like training for this fight, we had a baby son. Two weeks before our first fight, my first son was born and I didn’t know how to separate sport from such life-changing events. Mo ti wà 14-0 ati ija on Showtime. We just had a baby boy two weeks before this fight. I want to prove to myself that I can beat this process. Bracero is my redemption!
“Eleyi jẹ ija mi vs. mi. The time was right for this fight. I was offered this fight five times during the past few years but the time wasn’t right.
I was a scared little kid with no experience in our first fight. I couldn’t handle the pressure, I didn’t even know it was there. Bayi, I’m a mature man who is a husband and father. I’m a totally different person.
This fight could be in my living room. I’m at peace in the ring doing what I love to do. It’s great being back in the ring in Lowell, ibi ti mo ti gba awọn New England Golden ibọwọ akọle ati ki o Mo n ni ija lori orilẹ-TV, ṣugbọn awọn iṣẹlẹ ni laarin awọn igun mẹrin ati awọn ti o ni ohun ti gan ni ère.”
Gabriel BRACERO
“Mo dunnu. I’ve trained for this fight like I’ve never fought Danny before. I beat him but that was four years ago. I can’t overlook him. He has obviously made improvements and I did also to get where we are today.
“Mo wa siwaju sii RÍ. I moved to train in Orlando and get away from distractions. I hit a few bumps and got incarcerated. Tommy Gallagher (olukọni) saved my lie. He was there when I went to prison and there when I got out. I added a new trainer to our corner, Alexander Lopes, ṣugbọn Tommy ati baba mi, Kiro, are still there. Tommy gives the orders and he likes what Lopez has done with me.
Tommy Gallagher is my guardian angel. He believed in me more than I believed in myself. He had this vision before I did.
Danny has become a better fighter. Mo ti ko le gba ohunkohun kuro lọwọ rẹ, sugbon mo n wa siwaju si nri lori kan ti iyanu išẹ Saturday alẹ.”
Jonathan Guzmán
“Mo n lilọ lati ṣe awọn ti o 20-fun-20, bẹẹni! I’m powerful because I make strong moves. My left hook is my best punch. Mo ti le lero awọn agbara mi gbogbo ara nigbati mo ti lu ẹnikan ọtun.
“Emi ko dààmú nípa mi alatako tabi ohun ti on ṣe ni awọn ti o ti kọja.
Lawrence is my home now. I will go back to the Dominican Republic in December for the holidays. I feel like a Bostonian. This is the sixth fight I’ve trained here for and I love the Boston Red Sox.
Danny Aquino
“Mi kẹhin ija propelled mi (alaafia nipa ipinnu lori Ryan Kielczweski). It made me more confident in myself. Mi kẹhin ija wà on ESPN ati yi ọkan jẹ on NBCSN.
I don’t know too much about my opponent other than he has power that I’ll be looking out for. A win over him should put me in the top 10 ati awọn ti o ni idi ti mo wa ki iwapele fun yi ija.
“Mo ti gba awọn New England Golden ibọwọ asiwaju ni Lowell Memorial Auditorium ni 2007.
“Mo irin ni lile ati ki o Mo wa nigbagbogbo ni dara to apẹrẹ lati lu enikeni.”
Ryan KIELCZWESKI
I like fighting at home and this is one of my favorite venues. I won the New England Golden Gloves there twice.
“Mo ti sọ oṣiṣẹ fun yi lati wa ni awọn toughest ija ti mi ọmọ.
“(Vásquez) is tough with a lot of power. He’s going come forward, sugbon Emi yoo ni anfani lati jade-apoti rẹ.
“O si n won won ninu awọn oke 10 ti awọn aye ati a win yẹ ki o fi mi pada ni awọn oke 10 ija fun aye a akọle laarin awọn tókàn odun.”
Rafael Vásquez
“Eleyi jẹ a nla anfani fun mi. I think this fight will put me on the map fighting on national TV and showing fans what I’ve got.
“Mo wa a ebi npa, small fighter determined to win. I fight for my wife, Sandra, ti o ni ipele-mẹrin akàn ati mẹjọ mi-odun-atijọ ọmọbìnrin, Kaline, who has autism. It’s not just me fighting in the ring, it’s the Vasquez family. With God’s grace, ohunkohun jẹ ṣee ṣe.
“Ryan rare a pupo. He uses the ring and boxes. He lost to Aquino and I know he’ll be coming back to prove himself. “
Gary “Spike” O'Sullivan
Boston is my second home. I love it here. The people are so nice and there are good gyms.
“Mo wa ohun moriwu, idanilaraya Onija ti o ba wa nigbagbogbo lati ja.
“Lẹhin ti mo ti pari pa Eubanks, Mo ti yoo jẹ awọn Bẹẹkọ. 1 contender ni awọn WBA ati Golovkin ba le si mu mi si pa eyikeyi to gun.
I watched a few clips of my opponent. We have identical records. We both knock people out, so I have to be careful. I’d like to get in a few rounds, ṣugbọn nigbati mo ti lu awon eniyan, ti won ti kuna.”
Stephen ORMOND
My first four fights were here in the US. Boston is like my second home. The people are so nice. Boston is a real fight city. I can’t wait for these people to see me in the ring.
I saw my opponent fight last year in Boston. He’s an experienced guy with a lot of fights. He fought for a world title a long time ago.
“Pẹlu Ken Casey sile mi, an impressive victory will get me a title shot. I’ll take any of them. Mo ti wà ọkan ija kuro, losing a qualifier. My grandmother passed away the day of my fight. I’m ready now!”
