FORMER IBF WORLD CHAMPION JONATHAN “SALOMON KING” GUZMAN SIGNS WITH EL MATADOR MANAGEMENT

QUEENS, Nova York (May 15th, 2018) – El Matador Management, Inc. has announced the signing of hard hitting super bantamweight contender, Jonathan “Salomon Rei” Guzmán (23-1, 22 Nocauts). Felipe Gomez will now be managing the career of hard hitting and former IBF World Super Bantamweight Champion Guzman, who hails from Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Gomez will be working closely with Sampson Lewkowicz (Guzmán’ Promotor) as they jointly look to keep Guzman busy, while guiding him back toward a world title.

 

 

 

Guzman won the IBF World Super Bantamweight Title with an 11-round stoppage over Shingo Wake (20-4-2, 12 Nocauts) al Japó. Guzman then defended his title against Yukinori Oguni (18-1-1, 8 Nocauts) in Kyoto, Japan losing a 12-round unanimous decision.

 

 

 

“I been out of the ring for over a year now and I know Felipe Gomez can help jump-start my career again.” said Guzman. “I see the job he is doing with all his fighters and how he has been keeping them busy. That is exactly what I need, someone that can help keep me busy fighting and that also believes in me becoming a World Champion again.”

Lewkowicz Secures Right to Broadcast KO King Guzman’s Title Defense This Saturday in Japan

Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing is proud to announce he has secured the rights to broadcast a special early-morning Woz Promotions tripleheader of world-class boxing, on TyC Sports, a Dissabte, Desembre 31, 2016 (4:30 am ET/6:30 pm JST), from the Shimazu Arena in Kyoto, Japó, and featuring boxing’s next superstar, Jonathan “Salomon Rei” Guzmán.

Brand-New IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Jonathan Guzman to be Ringside Friday at Foxwoods

IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Jonathan “Salomon Rei” Guzmán (22-0, 22 KOs) won’t be taking any time to rest on his newly acquired laurels.
The Dominican KO artist won his first world championship yesterday (Dimecres, Juliol 20) by stopping former #1 contender Shingo Wake in 11 brutal rounds in Osaka, Japó. Guzman’s power was simply too much for Wake, who fell four times before the end came at 2:16 from merciful referee Wayne Hedgpeth.
The iron-fisted Dominican could easily spend the rest of the summer celebrating the victory, but has no intention to do so.
He is quickly flying home from Japan in order to be ringside demà (Divendres, Juliol 22) al Foxwoods Resort a Mashantucket, Connecticut, to watch San Antonio’s Adam Lopez face Argentina’s Roman Ruben Reynoso on ShoBox: La Nova Generació.
Guzman’s intention is to face the winner of that fight in his first title defense.

DOMINICAN KO ARTIST GUZMAN READY FOR FIRST WORLD TITLE SHOT

FIB #2 super bantamweight contender Jonathan “Salomon Rei” Guzmán (21-0, 21 KOs) is hard at work preparing for the “fight of his life” with trainer Hector Bermudez at Peter Welch’s Gym in Boston.
The 26-year-old KO artist from Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, will face IBF #1 contender Shingo Wake (20-4-2, 12 KOs) a Dimecres, Juliol 20, at EDION Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japó, for the vacant IBF World super bantamweight title.
Guzmán, who stopped Mexico’s tough Daniel Rosas in eighth round on Abril 29 to earn this fight, says his dreams are so close to coming true he can almost taste them. “I have waited my whole life for a world title fight and now it’s almost here,” said Guzman. “I can’t wait to get in the ring and win for my family and my country.”
Trainer Bermudez says Guzman has too many weapons to fall short in this fight. “Although Jonathan has never had to go the distance because his power is amazing, he can also box very well. He’s just never had to thus far in his career. Jonathan is the complete package and soon the world will be learning all about him. There is no way that Wake can beat him.”

Sampson Boxing Fighters Score Four Impressive KOs in One Weekend
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has been given the go-ahead to begin negotiating a world-title fight between his fighter, explosive KO punching Dominican Jonathan Guzman, and the promoters for Japan’s Shingo Wake.
As per their rules for vacant championships, Lewkowicz, representing Guzman, the IBF #2 supergallo, and Kyoei Promotions representing IBF #1 Wake were ordered to begin negotiations immediately and have them completed no later than Juny 2 d'aquest any.
Guzmán (21-0, 21 KOs) is hot on the heels of a sensational eight-round stoppage victory over Daniel Rosas last Friday, Abril 29, a Atlantic City, in a voluntary eliminator for the #2 spot in the ratings.
Wake (20-4-2, 12 KOs) earned his number one spot by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Mike Tawatchai last June.
Also per IBF rules neither boxer may compete in another match until they face each other.
“Any boxer who is contracted with a promoter, a network, or a state, tribal or national commission to take another fight, or who is ill, injured, under a legal impediment which could prevent the bout from taking place in the opinion of the IBF/USBA, or on suspension at the time the Championships Chairman and the President order a bout under this rule shall be considered unavailable. We would then move to the next available contender. Neither fighter can take another fight until this fight for the vacant title is concluded.”
In the event the camps cannot reach an agreement by Juny 2, the IBF will call for purse offers to be held to determine who will promote the bout, when and where it will be held.
The Guzman vs. Wake fight is more good news for Sampson Boxing, who had four different fighters score sensational victories over the weekend.
In addition to the aforementioned Guzman TKO, Sampson Boxing’s Jorge “Mà de morter” Lara scored a jaw-dropping KO 1 over former world champion Fernando Montiel at the StubHub Center in Carson, Califòrnia, en dissabte. Lara had the formidable Montiel on the deck four times in a brutal beatdown that only lasted 1:37.
The same night in the same venue, future world champion and boxing prodigy David “El Bandera Roja/Red Flag” Benavidez destroyed capable New Yorker Phillip Jackson Benson by KO 2. KO Artist Jonathan Guzman to Face Daniel ‘Bad Boy’ Rosas for IBF #2 Position at Super Bantamweight on April 29

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing proudly announces the IBF has agreed to sanction a super bantamweight voluntary elimination fight between their #7 contender Jonathan Guzman and #14, Daniel Rosas for the #2 position in their ratings.
Under the IBF rules criteria, two of the top five available contenders can compete in a voluntary elimination fight for the second-highest spot in the ratings. Guzmán (20-0, 20 KOs) from Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, and Rosas (20-2-1, 12 KOs) from Mexico City, are Sampson Boxing promotional stablemates. The bout is scheduled for Dissabte, Abril 29, 2016, a Atlantic City, Nova Jersey.
“I am excited about the opportunity for both my fighters,” Said Sampson Lewkowicz. “My congratulations to both of them. May the best man win and take over the #2 spot with a great organization like the IBF.”
All the necessary contract have already been signed, in compliance with the IBF rules.

Per recollir-se a si mateix una còpia de seguretat, estar orgullós de si mateix. Per anar a casa la seva bella dona i fills i gaudir de la vida. No volia que el mateix passi amb ell, que em va passar a mi.”
JONATHAN GUZMAN:
“He demostrat que puc lluitar i puc colpejar. Aquesta baralla va ser un exemple del que puc fer.
“A partir de la segona volta he lluitat amb les dues mans lastimadas. No importava a les meves mans, Jo anava a aturar-lo.”
RYAN KIELCZWESKI:
“Abans d'aquesta lluita, Jo sabia que podia perforar. Vaig pensar que vaig evitar durant tota la baralla, però en el desè round, ell em va aconseguir. Se sentia prou bo per ser sacsejat per primera vegada, només per saber el que se sent.”

“Jo no sabia on tenia els peus. Era una sensació estranya, No tenia ni idea del que se sentia com. Ell em va trucar i jo podia veure directament, però vaig sentir que em va esquerra i dreta.
“He’s a tough guy. I really needed that fight.
“We knew he wasn’t much of a volume pincher. It didn’t surprise us when he came on in the middle rounds.

LOWELL, Missa. (10/9/15) – En dissabte nit, Contendent classificat mundial irlandès Patrick Hyland (30-1, 14 KOs) faces David Martinez on the undercard of the PBC on NBCSN event from Lowell, Missa.
