Rising prospects, rematch highlight Xcite Fight Night 4 undercard

BENSALEM, PA-The undercard for Xcite Fight Night 4 at Parx Casino® on June 15 is packed with undefeated prospects and an entertaining rematch.


In the semifinal contest, Jerome hukuncin (10-3-0 1 K0) faces off against Frank Trader(12-2-1 3 K0s) in an all-Philadelphia matchup for the USBF continental championship. That will serve as a prelude to the main event, which features homegrown flyweight Miguel Cartagena (15-5-1 6 K0s). Cartagena looks to return to his winning ways against Jesus Solar (10-1-1 5K0s), who is making just his second stateside appearance in what has become the Puerto Rican fighter’s adopted second home.




The undercard features a welterweight bout with one of Philly’s most exciting unbeaten prospects in Marcel Rivers (7-0 4 K0s). He promises an entertaining fight with Lancaster-based Evincii Dixon (7-23-2 2 K0s).

Camp is going good, my team and I turn it up each week,” said Rivers, who is a PGW foreman by day. “I feel good about my fightit’s always good to fight in my city in front of all my supporters, and I’m goin to give them what they want.

Brooklyn’s Omar Kabary Salem (9-0 4 K0s) returns for his second appearance at the Xcite Center. In his previous outing, he made quick work of Jacob Fox, knocking him out in the first round. He picked up another win on April 27 and will be turning around quickly to face off with Philadelphia’s Jamaal Davis (18-14-1 7 K0s) a cikin wani super middleweight fadan. Davis will be the most experienced opponent of Salem’s career and the fight should prove to be a telling challenge between youth and experience.

BRISCOE AWARDS SET FOR THIS SUNDAY

Philadelphia – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out WANNAN SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Philly Fight na Shekara”, da “Philly Fight na Shekara”, da “Knockout na bana”, “Amateur of the Year”, “Rookie na shekarar”, “Mai yiwuwa na bana”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, kuma mafi.

My training went very well. My weight came off nicely, and I had great sparring. I feel very good as I head into this fight,” ya ce Fox.
In Aguas, he is facing a battled tested foe who has fought good competition in his home country of Ecuador and in Mexico. His lone defeated came in his last bout against then-undefeated prospect Ivan Golub.
Aguas fought against Golub, who is a known commodity. I know that Aguas has a good record and has power, and he has been 12 akai-akai, so I expect to have to fight the whole time in there.
The King’s Promotions signee, Fox is looking forward to his maiden voyage into one of the great fight towns in Philadelphia.
Philly is a great fight town. I know a lot of people up there like Julian Williams, Tevin Farmer and Jesse Hart. Those guys are tough, and Philly has a lot of tough fighters. I am really looking forward to fighting in front of the Philly fight crowd.
Fox is really excited about what a win will do for him going forward.
This win will be a a good look for me because of his record. It will show people that I can handle myself against a battle tested opponent, and hopefully it will catapult me into a ShoBox opportunity, and keep me moving in my career. I want to thank everybody who has been rooting for me and following me.

I have seen a few videos of him, and I know he is a southpaw. He is a good fighter, and on paper it looks like he is my toughest fight, but I can tell you for sure after the fight.
Ever since he was an amateur, Carto has been a popular fighter, drawing large crowds, but since becoming a professional, Carto is starting to build into an attraction, where he is starting to acquire more and more fans with each fight.
I am starting to notice that my fan base is growing. That makes me feel good that people want to come out and see me fight.
This being his 12th fight a 14 watanni, Carto has kept a busy schedule, and should everything go well a ranar Jumma'a dare, Carto could see more action as 2017 closes out.
I definitely want to get one more for sure and possibly two more fights before the year ends, but first things first is Friday and it’s going to be a good night of boxing.
