Federación Universal Boxing (UBF) Campeón de peso semipesado de toda América Ricardo “Popeye el marino” Rivera (7-0, 6 KOs) defenderá su título y luchará contra el retador mexicano Jaime “Zarco” Solorio (12-3-2, 9 KOs) en el evento principal de ocho asaltos. También lucharán por el vacante Campeonato ABF Continental Américas.

 

 

El Collier de 21 años, quién luchará contra Ohio Antonio Castillo, Jr. (1-0) en una atracción especial de peso welter de cuatro asaltos, ha dedicado su carrera en el boxeo a su tío y padre. Su tío fue asesinado tres años fuera de un lugar en el que Sharad estaba boxeando y, tristemente, su padre ha estado entrando y saliendo de la cárcel. Brooker decisions Riojas in Philadelphia; wins by Conquest, Torres and Nelson; Orapeza defeats McNutt in a war; Beckford upsets Mansfield; Lopez and Baratov fight to a draw

FILADELFIA–Este pasado Viernes noche, Christopher Brooker won a workmanlike eight-round unanimous decision over veteran Oscar Riojas in a super middleweight bout that highlighted a seven bout card at a jam packed SugarHouse Casino.

La tarjeta fue promovida por Promociones del Rey.

Brooker was very solid throughout as he tried to work on in the inside. En la tercera ronda, he landed a perfect left hook that drove Riojas into the ropes. Brooker worked inside and was the busier man throughout the contest.

Brooker of Philadelphia won by scores of 78-74 en todas las tarjetas y ahora 12-3. Riojas of Monterrey, México es 14-8-1.

Jerome Conquista put in a solid six-rounds in winning a unanimous decision over Daniel Perales in a super lightweight bout.

Conquest of Philadelphia won by scores of 60-54 y 59-55 dos veces, y es ahora 7-2. Perales of Monterrey, México es 10-10-1.

Henry Beckford scored an upset as he took a four-round majority decision over previously undefeated Blake Mansfield in a super middleweight contest.

Sam Orapeza literally had to hang on and win a four-round unanimous decision in a cruiserweight bout over Kyle McNutt.

McNutt gathered himself and had a solid round two. Orapeza took control again in round four, as he scored a hard knockdown and seemed seconds away from finishing the fight. He may have punched himself out as in the last 45 seconds of the bout, McNutt battered and staggered Oarapeza all over the ring. Had the bout been 30 seconds longer, the outcome could very well have been different, but Orapeza of Philadelphia got the nod by the tune of 38-37, 39-35 y 39-36. Orapeza is now 2-0. McNutt of Battle Creek, MI es 1-3.

Jeffrey Torres won a four-round unanimous decision over Kashon Hutchinson in a lightweight bout.

Lopez is 1-0-1. Baratov is 2-1-2.

Silla Nelson won a four-round unanimous decision over Bryan Perez Nevarez in a featherweight bout.

Filadelfia, Pensilvania. (Mayo 4, 2017) – Christopher Brooker (11-3, 5 Nocáuts)se enfrentará a Oscar Riojas (14-7-1, 4 Nocáuts) en Viernes, May 12th El Casino en SugarHouse.

The scheduled eight-round super middleweight bout will headline a card promoted by King’s Promotions.

Brooker was summoned to San Diego to help Canelo Alavrez prepare for Sábado de mega showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr that will take place in Las Vegas.
Being that Brooker is a strong super middleweight, and Chavez having a similar build, it made sense that Brooker would get such a call to help out the Mexican Idol for the much anticipated showdown.
“I went to camp with Canelo in San Diego, and we ran in the mountains at 15,000 pies. I was there close to two weeks and sparred twenty rounds with him,” said Brooker.
“It was a great experience to be around a fighter who is one of the elite fighters in the world. He is so composed. I was brought into to pressure him and mimic Chavez, Jr. Canelo is such an experienced fighter, and I learned so much from him. He was showing me how to set up my shots, and even certain exercises with my neck.”
Brooker was very impressed with the whole team, and believes that this camp will take him to the next level.
“His team is so professional and down to earth. I am looking forward to this fight en sábado. It will be a good fight. I was shocked to know that Canelo watched my last fight on ShoBox. They could tell that I was trying to box more and get a way from my brawling style that I had employed in most of my bouts. They gave me good advice, and told me not to change who I was when I was having a lot of success as a pressure fighter, and then to mix in the boxing aspect to my game.”

Filadelfia, Pensilvania. (Abril 13, 2017) – Battle tested super middleweight Christopher Brooker se enfrentará a veteranos Oscar Riojas in the eight-round featured bout on Viernes noche, May 12th en El Casino SugarHouse.

La 25 year-old is known for taking on anyone at anytime.
The combined record of his last seven foes is a staggering 92-9-3, with Brooker winning five of those bouts, and Brooker has appeared on national television three times.

Brooker is a two-year professional, who already has wins over Leo Hall (8-0), John Magda (11-0), Antowyan Aikens (10-1-1), Gabriel Pham (6-0) & former world title challenger Elvin Ayala (28-7-1). Brooker has dropped his last two bouts to Ronald Gavril (16-1) in a bout that Brooker was even on the scorecards before being stopped in the final round.
