Uncasville, Conn. - Marsz 13, 2021 - Former two-time world champion David Benavidez kept his perfect ring record intact with an 11th-round technical knockout victory against veteran Ronald Ellis in their WBC Super Middleweight Title Eliminator main event on Saturday night’s SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast, na żywo w SHOWTIME z Mohegan Sun Arena w Uncasville, Conn., w wydarzeniu Premier Boxing Champions.

Phoenix’s Benavidez (24-0, 21 KO) flashed brilliant hand speed, accuracy and power as he dominated Ellis (18-2-2, 12 KO) Lynn, Msza św., przez 11 rounds before referee Johnny Callas finally waved off the fight at 2:03 of the penultimate round. The 24-year-old star held a significant lead on all three scorecards (99-91, 98-92 x2) at the time of the stoppage.

“I rate my performance pretty good but I know I could have done better,” said Benavidez, who extended his perfect record to 24-0. “Ronald Ellis is a tough competitor. I just hope the fans like what they saw. I threw a lot of combinations, punches in bunches. There were a lot of times I thought Ellis was going to quit but he didn’t. Hats off to him, że jest twardzielem. It was a little later than I wanted but a stoppage is still a stoppage. I hope the fans got a good show tonight.”

A boxing prodigy turned youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history, Benavidez turned in a masterful performance as evidenced by his punch stats, lądowanie 289 z 532 power punches thrown for an eye-popping connection rate of 54%. Benavidez connected on 50 punches in the 11th round which ultimately led to the stoppage. Both fighters combined to throw 1,403 stemple. Following his dominating win on SHOWTIME, Benavidez is one step closer to reclaiming a super middleweight world title.

“I want all the big guys,- dodał Benavidez. “Speaking for the fans too, they would love to see me against all the big guys because as you can see, I love throwing punches. I love stopping people so me versus any big name would be an amazing fight. Chcę [Jermall] Charlo, Canelo Alvarez, Caleb roślin, all of them.”

Ellis, 31, showed tremendous determination and a very sturdy chin as he absorbed the constant onslaught from the former two-time world champion. Often working off the ropes as Benavidez pressed the action, Ellis landed 89 z jego 334 szturcha.

“I could have popped the jab and controlled things a little bit more and not let him smother me,” said Ellis. “Hell yeah I wanted to finish. I didn’t want to give him that satisfaction. I could have moved a little bit more and not taken so many shots to the head. Hats off to him. He did what he had to do. Nigdy mnie nie boli, that’s the funny thing. I took a lot of shots but he didn’t damage me or have me super hurt. I never thought about quitting.”

The sports world lost an icon today as the death of Marvelous Marvin Hagler was reported hours before the live telecast began. A member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Hagler, kto był 66 lat, fought in the first main event ever on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on March 10, 1986. Hagler was honored with a ceremonial 10-count prior to tonight’s main event. Click Here to Watch SHOWTIME’s Tribute to Marvin Hagler

Benavidez reflected on Hagler’s passing after the fight: “I had met Marvin once before and he was a great champion. Someone told me he fought the first fight on SHOWTIME. Someone on my team let me know a few hours before the fight that he had passed. It’s sad and he will be missed. He was a true legend.”

W przypadku co-main, Isaac Cruz (21-1-1, 15 KO) of Mexico City earned a unanimous decision victory over Argentina’s Matias Romero (24-1, 8 KO) in a 12-round WBA Lightweight Title Eliminator. It marked the first time that the 22-year-old Cruz went 12 rounds in his professional career. The judges’ scorecards read 114-113, 115-112 i 118-109. Nieoficjalny strzelec SHOWTIME Steve Farhood zaliczył walkę 115-112, giving rounds 10 przez 12 to the rising star.

“I’m not happy about the style of the fight but I am satisfied I took the victory home and we’ve come to the No. 1 spot in the WBA,"Powiedział Cruz. “I didn’t know what was going to happen [as far as the judges]. We forced the fight at all times and it would have been very impossible for the judges to do something to me when I was the one pushing the fight.”

Throughout the 36-minute affair, Cruz constantly applied pressure against his opponent which led to Romero, the more seasoned professional, to hold excessively in an attempt to stall the pressure. Despite being warned frequently by referee Harvey Dock, the 24-year-old Romero was never penalized. During the rough-and-tumble contest, jednak, Cruz was docked a point in the sixth round for a low blow.

“He was a fighter who didn’t want to exchange punches,” Cruz added, in reference to the persistent clinching. “I was very fed up with the clinches—there was never a warning toward him. I did my best out there. Not the best way I wanted to do it but thank God we won the fight and we’re taking the victory home.”

Romero presented an effective jab throughout the fight, lądowanie 89 z 282, but it was Cruz’s power punching that ultimately earned him the victory. Krzyż, who is now the No. 1 contender for a world title shot at 135 funtów, wylądował 145 z 459 stemple mocy, Łącznie 91 strzały na ciało.

“Obviously I’m not happy with the decision,” stated Romero following his first professional loss. “I thought maybe it was a draw. Overall I’m happy with my performance. He’s supposed to the be the ‘Pit Bull’ and I went the distance. You have to take the opportunities when they are presented and I wish I would have had more time to get ready for this fight.”

In the evening’s opening bout, Cleveland’s Terrell Gausha (22-2-1, 11 KO) scored an impressive second-round technical knockout over fellow Ohioan Jamontay Clark (15-2-1, 7 KO) Cincinnati. Gausha, 33, did not land a single power punch in the opening round but worked well behind the jab, winning the round on two of the judges’ scorecards. As the second round neared completion, Gausha beautifully countered a lunging left hand from the southpaw Clark which sent the 26-year-old to the canvas for the first time in his professional career. Clark beat the count but moments later was met by a barrage of unanswered punches in the neutral corner. Referee Arthur Mercante jumped in and called a halt to the bout at 2:44 drugiej rundzie.

“I knew Jamontay was a tough kid, I’ve been watching him since Cleveland so I knew about him already,” said Gausha. “I felt like I had a chance to knock him out but I didn’t know how the fight would play out. But I feel I did good, executed the game plan. My coaches had been studying film and we executed.

“I just took my time,” added Gausha. “I was setting traps. I knew he would be open eventually, but I had to be cautious too because he’s a rangy guy, has a good left hand. But I knew there were holes in his game and we executed and when the opportunity presented itself, we landed that big right hand.”

With his emphatic stoppage win, the 2012 Olympian emerges as a contender for a title shot in the super welterweight division. In his first and only world title shot in 2017, Gausha dropped a unanimous decision to current super welterweight world champion Erislandy Lara.

“I know I made a statement tonight,” added Gausha. “I put the division on notice. I’m locked and loaded and I’m ready. I want to be a world champion so I’m looking to fight whoever I need to fight to get to the belts.”

Sobotę SHOWTIME MISTRZOSTWA BOKS telecast will replay Sunday at 8:55 a.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME and Monday at 10 p.m. ET on SHOWTIME EXTREME.

Three-Hour Premier Boxing Champions Show Features Jamal James Delivering Second Round Knockout of Mahonry Montes in Front of Hometown Crowd Friday Night on FS1 & FOX Deportes from The Armory in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (Sierpień 24, 2018) – Zawodnik wagi półśredniej Jamal James (24-1, 11 KO)gave his hometown crowd a treat as he sent Mahonry Montes (35-8-1, 24 KO)to the canvas for a second round knockout in the main event of a jam-packed three-hour night of Premier Boxing Mistrzów action Friday fromthe Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I came out here to make a statement and I’m even happier to be able to do it right here at home,” powiedział James. “The support in Minnesota is amazing and it gave me the extra motivation to get the job done in spectacular fashion. Everyone knows I attack the body and tonight I was able to use it to get the finish

In his second straight fight at the Armory, James made a statement by quickly dispatching Mexico’s Montes with a punishing left hook to the body that left his opponent crumpled on the canvas.

James broke through in the last 30 seconds of the second round, landing numerous unanswered right hands that put Montes in immediate trouble. James finished the show with the devastating body shot that eventually forced referee Mark Nelson to halt the bout at 2:58 rundy.

I feel like I’m ready for the elite welterweights and tonight proved it again,” powiedział James. “I’m going to keep working hard and taking down anyone they put in front of me. It’s time for me to make my mark in the division.

W przypadku co-main, średniej rywal Willie Monroe Jr. (23-3, 6 KO) showed off his boxing skill and picked apart Javier Francisco Maciel (33-7, 23 KO) to score a unanimous decision in their 10-round bout.

Monroe was dominant with his jab, movement and an array of offensive attacks. He was able to vary his punches enough to keep the aggressive Maciel from landing anything that caused damage.

Maciel looked to score with power punches and body shots, but the former title challenger Monroe was comfortable on the outside and mixing it up inside on his way to winning the fight by scores of 99-91 i 100-90 dwa razy.

The opening bout of the telecast featured fast-rising prospect and 2016 Lithuanian Olympian Eimantas Stanionis (7-0, 5 KO) as he earned a unanimous decision over Lewan Ghvamichava (18-4-1, 13 KO)in their eight-round welterweight matchup.

Stanionis rode a powerful jab and sharp combination punching to the dominant victory as he faced the toughest opposition of his pro career to date. Ghvamichava was game and tried to counter the hard-charging Stanionis but was too often taking the worst of exchanges on the inside. At the end of the action all three judges saw the bout in favor of Stanionis by scores of 80-72 i 79-73 dwa razy.

Additional action saw Jeison Rosario (16-1-1, 11 KO) score a unanimous decision over Jamontay Clark (13-1, 7 KO) in their 10-round super welterweight bout.

Rosario scored a highlight reel knockdown with a counter right hand in the third round that saw Clark tumble out of the ring. Clark was able to return to the ring and beat the count, but he took more damage throughout the bout before losing the decision by scores of 99-90, 98-91 i 97-92, all in favor of Rosario.

A scheduled heavyweight bout ended in shocking fashion before it ever began, as heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba (6-0, 5 KO) was awarded a victory by disqualification against Curtis Harper (13-6, 9 KO) when Harper exited the ring moments after the opening bell rang, opting not to face Ajagba.

Prelims on FS1 and FOX Deportes saw rising super welterweight prospect Sebastian Fundora (10-0, 6 KO) zatrzymać Antonio Urista (10-3, 2 KO)w 2:22 czwartej rundy, undefeated super welterweight Leon Lawson (8-0, 4 KO) jednomyślnej decyzji zwycięstwo nad Brandon Adams (4-7-1, 2 KO) in their six-round fight and unbeaten prospect Gary Antonio Russell (12-0,10 KO) score a first round knockout of Nick Otieno (31-15, 13 KO) tylko 1:18 w rundzie.

It will be an entertaining show for the fans in Minneapolis and those tuning in on FS1 and FOX Deportes.

Warriors Boxing is very excited to return to the beautiful newly-renovated Armory in Minneapolis with another PBC on FS1 and FOX Deportes show,” powiedział Leon Margules, Prezes Warriors Boxing. “In addition to the great lineup of televised fights, headlined by local star Jamal James, favorite son and former world champion Caleb Truax returns to the ring at home for the first time since back-to-back road performance in world title fights.

James (23-1, 10 KO) built on the biggest victory of his careera knockout over tough veteran Diego Chaves last Decemberwith a decision win against Abel Ramos in April at the Armory and on FS1. The 30-year-old James has picked up three-straight victories since suffering the only loss of his careera unanimous decision defeat to Yordenis Ugas in August 2016. He returns to downtown Minneapolis looking to keep his momentum going towards the top of the welterweight division.

I’m in camp training hard for another thriller at home against a pressure fighter in Mahonry Montes,” powiedział James. “I’m going to use my height, range and skills to show that I’m hungry and keeping my eyes on the prize. Once I get past Montes, a big name is going to have to fight me. I’m right on the road to a world title challenge.

The 28-year-old Montes (35-7-1, 24 KO) has challenged everyone from world champions to top rising prospects throughout his pro career and enters this bout having scored knockout victories in consecutive fights. Representing Sinaloa, Meksyk, Montes owns a victory over welterweight contender Francisco Santana in a fight last year that saw Montes drop his opponent on the way to a decision victory.

I’m am so excited to have this opportunity against Jamal James,” said Montes. “My last loss was unfortunate because I thought I had my opponent hurt, but I’ve picked up a couple of wins since then and have been training very hard. I’m ready to show everyone that I belong with the best fighters in the world. I’m never in a bad fight and I’m going to show the fans in Minnesota how a real Mexican fights.

A two-time title challenger, Monroe (22-3, 6 KO) has faced current titlists Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders in his forays into championship fights. The 31-year-old from Rochester, New York has defeated Gabriel Rosado, Brian Vera and John Thompson since 2015 to earn multiple opportunities at the middleweight title. Monroe most recently won a dominant decision over Carlos Galvan in March.

Fighting out of Virginia, Aleem (18-1-1, 11 KO) stopped Juan De Angel in the sixth-round of their May fight to get back in the win column after his first defeat in a bout against Hugo Centeno Jr last August. The 24-year-old had stopped then unbeaten Ievgen Khytrov in the sixth round of a January 2017 fight that became a Fight of the Year nominee prior to the Centeno fight.

23-letni Clark (13-0, 7 KO) has used his height and reach to establish himself as a fast-rising prospect on his way to contender status. The Cincinnati-native had two impressive victories in 2017, first defeating then unbeaten Ivan Golub and then a decision victory over Domonique Dolton last November as he came out victorious against his toughest pro opponent so far.

Różaniec (15-1-1, 11 KO) fights out of Miami but is originally from the Dominican Republic. Rosario suffered his first defeat last year at the hands of Nathaniel Gallimore, but has rebounded to be undefeated in his last four fights. This run has seen the 23-year-old fight to a draw with Mark Anthony Hernandez in February before defeating Justin DeLoach and dropping him twice on his way to a decision victory in May.

LOS ANGELES (Lipiec 28, 2018) – Mikey Garcia became the 10th lightweight champion to unify the division with a unanimous decision against Robert Easter Jr. Saturday on SHOWTIME, and immediately afterward set his sights on boxing’s best, namely Errol Spence Jr.

Full fight highlights here: https://s.sho.com/2LzlnJ6

All three judges scored the fight in favor of Garcia,118-109, 117-110, 116-111, in an electrifying fight in front of 12,560 fans at Staples Center in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

The four-division world champion Garcia (39-0, 30 KO) – who was fighting in his native Southern California for the first time in seven years – keeps his 135-pound WBC title, and also claims Easter’s IBF Lightweight belt

“I’m here for the biggest challenges,- powiedział Garcia, 30, who unified a title for the first time in his career. “I don’t know if there is anyone that is a bigger challenge than Errol Spence. I know he’s up to fight everyone so let’s make it happen. I think it can be made. I think that’s the next big fight coming up.

“I feel I have the power and the skillset to compete in any division up to welterweight. He’s the toughest guy at welterweight so I want to face him.”

Garcia scored a knock down in the third round against Easter (21-1, 14 KO) Toledo, Ohio, who was sent to the canvas for just the second time in his career. A strong right jab put Easter out of position, immediately followed by a devastating left hook sent Easter down with 24 seconds remaining in the round.

Garcia got better as the fight progressed. In the final four rounds Garcia out-landed Easter 95-34 in total punches and ended the fight being the more active fighter throwing 555 punches to Easter’s 507. He connected on nearly 40 percent of his power shots while Easter landed at a 24 percent clip.

“It’s a great accomplishment being here in L.A.,” Garcia said. “I was in control most of the fight, and I did what I had to do. I knew he was a tough opponent. He’s a tough warrior. He gave a great fight but I was a better fighter. I was in control of the fight and I did what I had to do to win.”

Wielkanoc, who went into the Garcia locker room after the fight to congratulate his opponent, był łaskawy w porażce.

“Whenever we step in the ring we are both putting our lives on the line and tonight Mikey was victorious,” said Easter, who entered the fight as the longest reigning champion at 135 funtów. “I just couldn’t find the timing and I just couldn’t let my right hand go. He caught me with a clean shot and I went down, but I got up like a true champion.”

During an interview at the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING host desk, Spence, a fellow top-five pound-for-pound great, said he would “definitely” welcome a fight with Garcia. “I feel like that’s the best fight available for me right now with Shawn [Nosić] and Danny [Garcia] fighting in September. Keith Thurman is still recovering and needs a tune up.

Full interview here: https://s.sho.com/2veXH1T.

“He’s daring to be great, he wants to be great, he wants to move up and dethrone me and it’s not going to happen. It’s definitely going to be an easy fight. [Garcia] will be pound-for-pound No. 1 if he beats me. He has great skills but I see myself winning. I don’t really see anything that concerns me. He’s technically good, but I don’t see him hurting me at 147.”

Heavyweight southpaw Luis Ortiz (29-1, 25 KO) returned to the ring with a resounding victory, scoring a devastating second round knockout (2:08) of former world title challenger Razvan Cojanu (16-4, 9 KO)

Ortiz landed 42 procent jego strzałów energetycznych (eight of 19) while Cojanu landed just two of 13 (15%) in the short fight.

Ortiz was emotional after the fight. He told SHOWTIME’s Jim Gray that just five days ago he learned doctors have found a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a disease his daughter suffers from.

“Thanks to God they found a cure for my daughter’s disease,” Ortiz said. “My wife told me while I was boarding the plane to get here. It’s been hard to be away from them. I’m happy I won, but it’s been really hard to be away from them.”

Both fighters were coming off losses in heavyweight world title fights. Ortiz was fighting for the first time since challenging Deontay Wilder in a 2018 Walka kandydata Roku. The 6-foot-4 Ortiz wasted little time knocking out the 6-feet-7½, 269-pound Cojanu, returning for his first fight since challenging then-WBO Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker.

“In my mind King Kong has not been defeated. I don’t feel I lost against Deontay Wilder. I want to fight [Anthony] Joshua, but he only fights boxers he’s sure he can defeat. I’m going to ask the government to put me on disability, maybe that way Joshua will fight me.”

W otwieracza transmitowane, Mario Barrios (22-0, 14 KO) remained undefeated recording his sixth straight stoppage with an eighth-round TKO of Jose Roman (24-3-1, 14 KO) in a scheduled 10-round welterweight match. Each of the judges, as well as SHOWTIME expert scorer Steve Farhood, scored the fight 80-70 in favor of Barrios at the time of the stoppage as Roman’s corner didn’t answer the bell for the ninth round.

San Antonio’s Barrios relied on effective body work in dominating the fight, łączenia na 61 z jego 133 strzały na ciało. He connected on 44 procent swoich ciosów energetycznych (104/239) w porównaniu do 26 percent for Roman (34/132), who had just five body shots on the night.

"[Body work] is something I’ve been able to work on,” Barrios told Gray in the ring. “You put the body work in early and by the end of the fight they have nothing left. That worked perfectly for this fight. This was the farthest I’ve gone in a while. It was great work and I feel like I’m transitioning to the fighter that I always thought I’ve be.”

Dzielnice, who suffered a cut above his left eye in the first round, sent Roman to the canvas at 1:15 of the fourth round with a strong right that dazed Roman, then a left hook that put Roman down for the seventh time in his career. Barrios ended the round with a flurry of punches that left Roman stunned.

The 23-year-old Barrios sent Roman down again with 1:38 remaining in the eighth round. Roman survived the round, but his corner refused to answer the bell and the fight was over.

“I feel I’m ready [for a title shot)],” Barrios said. “I feel strong. I feel fast. Jestem młody, but whatever my managers throw at me I’m ready. If I could get it tomorrow, I’d take it.”

It was a star-studded night at Staples as current and former world champions attended the fights, including Jarrett Hurd, Errol Spence Jr., Leo Santa Cruz, Abner Mares, Gervonta Davis and Adrien Broner.

Shawn Porter was also in attendance. It was recently announced that Porter and fellow former 147-pound world title holder Danny Garcia will square off against one another for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship live on SHOWTIME Saturday, Siedem. 8 z Barclays Center na Brooklynie, N. Y..

“I’m just a different type of athlete,” Porter told SHOWTIME’s Brian Custer. “When you talk about having the tools to become a two-time world champion; I have the tools, the athleticism, the tenacity the ring generalship. You will see all of that on Sept. 8.

“We always say that the business has to make sense [to make fights], And it sounds to me like the business has played its part. I win the WBC Championship and you’ll get Shawn Porter vs. Errol Spence.”

In streaming coverage of live undercard fights on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING COUNTDOWN, undefeated super lightweight prospect Fabian Maidana (16-0, 12 KO), the brother of former champion Marcos Maidana, recorded a seventh-round stoppage (2:32) against former world title challenger Andrey Klimov (19-5, 9 KO).

Also on the live stream, 2016 Patenty USA. Olympian and unbeaten prospect Karlos Balderas (6-0, 5 KO) dominated 54-fight veteran Giovanni Caro (27-24, 21 KO) scoring a stoppage at 2:09 of the fourth round in a scheduled six-round super featherweight bout.

Saturday’s SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader will replay on Monday at 10 p.m. ET / PT na SHOWTIME EXTREME.

Oto, co uczestnicy konferencji prasowej mieli do powiedzenia w czwartek z Conga Room w L.A. Na żywo:

MIKEY GARCIA

“To będzie mój pierwszy mecz zjednoczenia tytułu. Zmierzenie się z kolejnym niepokonanym mistrzem to wiele znaczy. Pomoże w moim dziedzictwie i karierze.

Większość przeciwników by tu nie przyjechała.

“Jestem tutaj, aby podjąć największe walki i największe wyzwania.

W sobotni wieczór dostaniesz dużo akcji i emocji. Oczekuj nieoczekiwanego.

“Miałem taki wspaniały obóz treningowy z trenerem Cunninghamem i moim tatą. Cały czas chodziło o boks i naprawdę to, czego potrzebowałem, idąc do takiego pojedynku.

“Wszyscy będą mogli zobaczyć, jak moja ciężka praca opłaci się w sobotni wieczór. To nie ja lubię o tym rozmawiać, Chcę wszystkim pokazać co mam.

“To są walki, w których zawsze chciałem brać udział. To wielka walka, z której wiem, że fanom naprawdę się spodoba. Mam zamiar dać im coś do zapamiętania.

“Bycie słabszym jest tym, czym jest. Tylko jeden z nas może być faworytem. Zrobiliśmy to, co trzeba było zrobić, aby przygotować się do tej walki i w lipcu 28 zobaczysz to wszystko w akcji.”

ROBERT GARCIA, Brat i trener Mikey'a

“W każdej walce zawsze jest ryzyko. Jesteśmy bardzo dobrze przygotowani do tego wielkiego wyzwania, a Mikey jest w świetnym miejscu psychicznie. Easter to wysoki facet, który na pewno spróbuje wykorzystać swój zasięg i walczyć z zewnątrz. Ale będziemy gotowi na wszystko, co przyniesie.

“To oczywiście wielka walka Mikeya z innym elitarnym bokserem. Kiedy jednoczy się dwóch niepokonanych facetów, zawsze jest duży. We had great sparring partners who prepared Mikey to be at his very best.

We’re ready for the best Robert Easter possible. I’m not even looking at his past two performances. We’ve done what we had to do to be ready for this fight and the best version of our opponent.

KEVIN CUNNINGHAM, Easter’s Co-Trainer

Robert has always been a tremendous fighter and an excellent boxer when he wants to box. We just put extra emphasis on how we want to fight Mikey Garcia. Robert has the natural skill and ability, plus the size and reach to get this done.

We’re prepared to dictate the tempo, control distance and range and do everything we want to do. We’ve done it so far in camp and we’re going to bring it into the ring on Saturday night.

“Wyjdziemy tam i zgarniemy wygraną. Narzucimy Mikey'owi nasz plan gry i sprawimy, że będzie to dla niego naprawdę długa noc.”

LUIS ORTIZ

“Zwycięstwo w sobotnią noc postawi mnie z powrotem w kolejce do rewanżu z Deontayem Wilderem. Walka jest tym, co umiem robić, and that’s what I’m coming to do on Saturday night. We’re both hungry for a win and we will see who comes out on top.

I learned that I need to train even harder, fight harder, throw more and connect more. If I hadn’t been fatigued, I’d still be punching him today. I threw the clock away at the gym. We’re going to be smarter going forward.

RAZVAN COJANU

I am very ready for this matchup. When we got this call, I was already in shape. We just had to make the adjustment to fighting a southpaw. We have about a month of really fun sparring leading up to this fight.

I feel very comfortable against the southpaw, especially one that everyone is familiar with like Ortiz. I know I have the skills to take home the victory.

MARIO Barrios

“To zdecydowanie najtrudniejszy test w mojej karierze. Bardzo się cieszę z tej wielkiej walki. To będzie przełomowy występ, którego szukałem.

“Jakikolwiek tytuł jest dla mnie dostępny, jest tytułem, za którym będziemy podążać. Nie ma znaczenia, z kim będę musiał się zmierzyć, Bede gotowy. Poluję na najlepszych.

“To świetna okazja, aby zadebiutować w SHOWTIME. To jest karta pełna talentu, ale planuję ukraść show. Pokażę wszystkim, jakim jestem wojownikiem.

“Wiem, że Roman przyjdzie walczyć, ale ja też. Nie mogę się doczekać walki w tym budynku. Wszyscy wielcy walczyli tutaj i nie mogę się doczekać, aż zagram świetny show.”

JOSE ROMAN

STEPHEN Espinoza, President Sport & Programowanie wydarzenie, Showtime Networks Inc.

“Są zawodnicy, którzy mówią, że chcą ciężkich walk, a są też zawodnicy, którzy faktycznie podejmują ciężkie walki. Między tymi dwoma jest duża różnica. Mikey Garcia i Robert Easter Jr. to zawodnicy, którzy faktycznie biorą górę walk.
