Umar Salamov Challenges Light Heavyweight Champions Bivol and Alvarez

Russian light heavyweight contender Umar Salamov (21-1, 16 KOs) is issuing a challenge to newly crowned WBO Champ Eleider Alvarez and WBA ruler Dmitry Bivol.

 

 

 

While many of the top 175-lb fighters would prefer to avoid Alvarez and Bivol, two of the hardest punchers in the division, the 24-year-old Salamov says he’s up for the challenge any time.

 

 

 

Both Alvarez and Bivol appeared on national television over the weekend, with Alvarez scoring an upset KO over Sergei Kovalev and Bivol defending his title with a lackluster decision over Isaac Chilemba.

 

 

 

“I saw their fights and I can confidently tell you that when I get my opportunity, I will dethrone both Bivol and Alvarez,» A déclaré Salamov. “I am the best light heavyweight in the world and look forward to proving it to the boxing fans by fighting the best!"

 

 

 

IBF #11- and WBO #15-rated Salamov was last seen in June, scoring a highlight reel ninth-round knockout over Brian Howard, vivre sur Showtime. The impressive victory won him the vacant IBF North American Championship. Salamov is currently training in Detroit at the Kronk Boxing Gym. His next fight will be announced shortly.

Eleider Alvarez vs.. Isaac Chilemba in November WBC light heavyweight final eliminator in Quebec

MONTRÉAL (Septembre 24, 2015) – World Boxing Council (WBC) Ne Pas, 2 prétendante nominale Eleider Alvarez (18-0, 10 KOs), un ancien olympien colombienne qui vit maintenant à Montréal, et WBC Non. 1 concurrent Isaac Mark (24-2-2, 10 KOs), du Malawi, devront faire face à l'autre ce Novembre dans un poids lourd légers WBC éliminateur final combat qui se déroulera au Québec.
Yvon Michel et Kathy Duva, respectivement, ALVAREZ et promoteurs de Mark, hier a finalisé un accord pour obtenir ce combat très attendu, dans lequel le gagnant deviendra aspirant obligatoire pour le champion des lourds légers du monde WBC Adonis “Superman” Stevenson, le natif haïtienne qui vit aussi à Montréal.
“Alvarez et Chilemba sont à la fois au niveau de l'élite de la division des lourds légers,” a déclaré Michel, Président de GYM, “assurant un combat spectaculaire intense qui va déterminer le reste de leurs carrières respectives.”
“Isaac et Main Events sont très impatients de le combat et très heureux d'avoir trouver un accord avec nos amis de GYM,” Ajouté Duva, PDG des principaux événements.
Dans sa dernière sortie de ce passé Août 15 au Centre Bell à Montréal, WBC Argent champion Alvarez a gâché le record invaincu de challenger paraguayen difficile Isidro Prieto Ranoni, en conservant sa ceinture par une victoire par décision unanime sur une grande Premier Champions de boxe carte qui a été diffusé en direct sur NBC Sports.
Le Mark, le courant North American Boxing Federation (Aussi) champion, aussi combattu son dernier combat au Centre Belle, la fameuse maison des Canadiens de Montréal. Lutter contre le Mars 14e undercard en vedette par une lumière poids lourds combat de championnat du monde entre le champion en titre Sergey Kovalev et challenger Jean Pascal, Mark a vaincu l'ennemi russe Vasily Lepikhin sur HBO par décision unanime pour remporter le titre NABF.
On prévoit que la date exacte et le lieu de l'épreuve de force Alvarez-Chilemba être annoncé d'ici quelques jours. Le plan est d'avoir Alvarez’ stablemate, invaincu des lourds légers prétendante Artur Beterbiev, battre sur la même carte dans une Fédération internationale de boxe (IBF) combat d'élimination.
