Kenneth Sims, דזשוניער. returns Saturday night against Andrew Rodgers in Gary, ינדיאַנאַ

טשיקאַגאָ, IL., (אָקטאָבער 11, 2018) – Junior Welterweight Kenneth Sims, דזשוניער. will be back in action this Saturday night when he takes on Andrew Rodgers in a six-round bout at The McBride Hall in Gary, ינדיאַנאַ.

 

 

 

Sims of nearby Chicago will be back in the ring for the first time since taking an eight-round split decision over previously undefeated Montana Love on July 20th in a bout that was nationally televised on ShoBox: די ניו גענעראַטיאָן אויף שאָוטיים.

 

 

 

Sims (12-1-1, 4 קאָס) has been working in Houston, Texas with some top-notch sparring partners, which will help him go forward in his career.

 

 

 

“מייַן לאַגער איז געווען גרויס. It was a full camp with my strength and conditioning coach. I got great sparring with O’Shaquie Foster, רעגיס פּראָגראַיס, and Taras Shelestyuk,” said Sims.

 

 

 

In Rodgers, Sims is taking on an unheralded opponent in what most a terming astay busy fight.

 

 

 

I really do not know much about him. I am taking this fight as it is close to home. I have been fighting in different places, so this is a good opportunity for my family and fans to see me fight.

 

 

 

After being injured for the better part of the last year, Sims is looking to stay active at the end of the 2018 and into 2019.

 

 

 

I hope to have another fight before the end of the year. It doesn’t matter if it another fight like this or something more significant. It all depends on the situation.

WBO News: Another Successful Boxing Officials’ Seminar Was Held In Chicago

The World Boxing Organization and the Illinois State Athletic Commission concluded a successful training seminar for boxing officials at the Garfield Park – Golden Dome, Chicago, יללינאָיס.

 

 

 

This event covered different topics, such as refereeing, judging, rules, and ethics; the seminar followed an interactive format with the purpose of giving ring officials the necessary knowledge, confidence and experience to execute good judgement of a boxing match.

 

 

 

John Duggan, First Vice-President of the WBO, stated that some of the objectives of these events are to “improve the quality of officiating” and he highlighted the importance of cross training ring officials in order to ensure the correct decisions are made during a boxing match, “correct officiating is important to ensure the right and deserving winner is named in a fight”.

 

 

 

דערווייַל, referee Celestino Ruiz and former referee Gino Rodriguez conducted the referees’ training and stressed out the importance of taking control from the moment instructions are given in the locker room; the necessity of having proper knowledge of the rules and being correctly positioned during a fight.

 

 

 

Ethics and professionalism were also covered, as fundamental aspects in the development of a career as a boxing official.

 

 

 

Videos were used to exemplify, analyze and break down different decisions during a boxing match, this is important to help participants understand some of the scenarios they may have to face, it offers them the possibility to clarify doubts while at the same time put their knowledge to test.

 

 

 

The WBO values these opportunities to contribute with the training of boxing officials and help them attain mastery of their skills.

Mike Lee Breaks Rib in 1st round and despite not being able to breathe, defeats Jose Hernandez to claim NABO Light Heavyweight title

Chicago, יללינאָיס (יוני 9, 2018) -WBO number-3 ranked light heavyweight contender Mike Lee Broke his rib in the 1st round, but still claimed the NABO Light Heavyweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Hernandez at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, יללינאָיס.

 

 

 

Lee pressed the action as he looked to land power shots early. Hernandez fought gamely, but Lee was consistent with his right and left hands.

 

 

 

Lee showed incredible heart, as in round one, he suffered a broken rib and had trouble breathing throughout the whole ten round fight.

 

 

 

Hernandez was cut from Lee’s work, and the Notre Dame graduate cruised home with the victory by scores of 97-93 on all judges’ cards.

 

 

 

מיט די נצחון, Lee remains perfect with a record of 21-0, and will now look to face any of the world champions in either the light heavyweight or super middleweight divisions.

In addition to his Olympic appearance two years ago, 28-year-old Mytrofanov, won Ukrainian national amateur titles in 2008 און 2012 and a bronze medal at the 2011 European Championships. He turned professional late last year and now trains at Oxnard’s Boxing Laboratory (formerly Robert Garcia Boxing Academy) under former Robert Garcia protegee Marco Contreras.
Denver (via Mexico’s) Hernandez is no easy challenge for any fighter, especially one with just two pro fights. In just the past year, Hernandez slapped highly rated prospect Danny Valdivia with his first two career losses (איצט 14-2) via deserved decisions.

26-year-old Ramiro Carrillo has been very impressive in his undefeated 11-fight run as a professional, אַזוי ווייַט. Carrillo was born in Mexico was a heavily decorated amateur, גיי 215-14. He was a four-time Chicago Golden Gloves Champion and a two-time National Silver Gloves Champion. Carrillo is an aggressive boxer/brawler who loves to go to the body. So much so that a high percentage of his professional knockouts have come from body shots.

22-year-old Quezada is of half-Mexican and half-Filipino descent and an enormous fan-favorite locally. A heavily decorated amateur boxer, Quezada ran off 11 straight victories before falling short in his last fight. Determined to come back better than ever, Quezada is returning to home turf of the UIC Pavilion where he has had 9 פון זיין 12 פייץ.

A Physical Education and Exercise Science junior at Chicago’s De Paul University 21-year-old Josh Hernandez had just over 50 fights and in 2014, won the Power Gloves and Chicago Golden Gloves, where he was named Best Male Boxer of the tournament. He is managed and trained by his father, former middleweight contender and fan favorite “מאַטשאָ” Miguel Hernandez.

Originally from St. לוי, now living in Chicago Jessica McCaskill trains under well-known Windy City boxing figure Rick Ramos. The 32-year-old says she started off in boxing as a crude slugger, relying solely on her amazing natural strength. But nearly three years of working with Ramos has improved her skills dramatically. McCaskill is the first woman ever signed to a promotional agreement with Warriors Boxing, and deservedly so. Her exciting fighting style has already made her a crowd favorite.
