Rigondeaux vs. Flores has officially been added to the Pay-Per-View undercard of Ward-Kovalev 2: “The Rematch” at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Zaterdag, Juni 17. Guillermo “El Chacal” Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KO), was one of the most celebrated amateur boxers in Cuba before defecting and making his professional debut on May 22, 2009 in Miami, Florida. High expectations had no ill effect on Rigondeaux as he tore through his next five opponents. Op november 13, 2010, in just his seventh pro fight, Rigondeaux faced Ricardo Cordoba for the vacant interim WBA World Super Bantamweight title and left the ring with the belt after scoring a split decision victory. Rigondeaux turned his attention to supremacy in the 122-pound division and accomplished what many considered the unthinkable by knocking out WBA World Super Bantamweight Champion Rico Ramos on January 20, 2012, becoming a world champion in fewer than 10 professionele periodes. In his first ever appearance in the United Kingdom, Rigondeaux gave fans a thrilling knockout against Dickens. The southpaw landed a big left hook, shattering Dickens’s jaw, halting the fight in the second round with a referee’s decision. Rigondeaux will be raring to go on Juni 17 in his title defense against interim champion Moises Flores.

 

Moises “Chucky” Flores (25-0, 17 KO) learned the fight game growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and spent the early years of his professional career building up his résumé in his home country. Now established as a title contender at 122 pond, Flores looks to climb to the top of the division with his considerable talent. Flores is exceptionally tall for his weight class, measuring in at 5 feet 9 inches. Zoals, he tends to have a reach advantage over most of his opponents, although Flores isn’t one to merely fire punches from a distance and box from the outside. He likes to mix it up, and his record reflects that, with most of his opponents going down by knockout. Flores made his pro debut in August 2008 with a second round knockout of Oswaldo Salgado in Guadalajara, Mexico. He fought exclusively in Mexico over the first six years of his career and made quick work of most of his opponents. Flores made his U.S. debuut in september 2014, winning a six round unanimous decision over Pablo Batres in Mesquite, Texas. He then gained a seventh round technical knockout of Mexican veteran Mario Macias in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in november 2014. That victory set up a 122-pound title shot against interim WBA World Super Bantamweight Champion Oscar Escandon in Carson, Californië, in april 2015. In an electrifying, all-action brawl, Flores earned a split decision to win the title. In his last two fights, Flores was able to defend the interim WBA World Super Bantamweight title against Luis Emanuel Cusolito, while also adding the IBO World Super Bantamweight title against Paulus Ambunda. Flores looks forward to claiming the full rights to the WBA World Super Bantamweight title on Juni 17 when he faces current champion Guillermo Rigondeaux in a 12-round championship showdown.

“Tikhonov is a big, strong super bantamweight who knows how to use his height, reach and power,” Salita said of the southpaw pugilist tutored by Igor Shafer in St Petersburg, Rusland. “Vladimir is very well schooled and wants to fight the best fighters in the division. Russia is producing lots of top notch fighters, contenders and world champions. I feel that Vladimir has the skills and experience to be the new face in the super bantamweight division!”

De 26 year-old Tikhonov got it done in his last outing against 40-4 Mikhail Krivolapov. Both camps are in negotiations with the possibility of the fight happening in the next few months. If the fight comes to fruition, both the WBA and IBO world title belts will be on the line. Boxing’s most avoided world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux heading to UK next month To publically confront Scott Quigg

CORK, Ierland (April 12, 2015) – Unified super bantamweight world champion Bill “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KO), arguably the most avoided reigning world title holder in modern boxing history, will travel to London next month in order to publicly confront his mandatory challenger, Scott QUIGG (30-0-2, 22 KO), the World Boxing Association (WBA) “regelmatig” 122-pond divisie titlist.

 

A month ago in an unusual move, Rigondeaux’ manager Gary Hyde formally petitioned the WBA to enforce a mandatory title fight between his WBA Super champion and Quigg. Hyde is awaiting the WBA’s decision. Rigondeaux is also the World Boxing Organization (WBO) en De Ring tijdschrift super bantamgewicht kampioen.

 

A reigning world champion hasn’t been avoided by other world champions and top contenders like Rigondeux has for the past two years since, misschien, junior middengewicht Sergio Martinez, or possibly all the way back to middleweight Mike McCallum.

“Rigondeaux will travel to Manchester to fight Quigg, Belfast to fight Frampton, or Las Vegas to fight Santa Cruz. None of these so-called world champions, hoewel, will consider fighting the acknowledged world super bantamweight champion. They’re all much more content to hold onto their belts than beating The Man in their weight class.”

 

Next month, Hyde reports, Rigondeaux will travel to the United Kingdom in a bold attempt to embarrass Quigg into fighting him. “I don’t like traveling overseas unless I have a fight lined up,” Rigondeaux explained, “but I will travel to England in May to publicly call out Scott Quigg. If he turns down the chance to fight our WBA mandatory, he will be remembered for that instead of being known as a great fighter. While I’m in the UK, I will also go to Belfast to checkout Carl Frampton to ask if he wants to prove himself against the best in his division.”

 

Understanding that the top super bantamweight action is currently in Europe, noting a record purse ($2.2 million USD) offered for a Frampton vs. Quigg fight, Rigondeaux is considering a major change in the not too distant future, moving his base from Miami to the UK, if that’s what it takes for him to get in on the action.

De 21-jarige Scardina afkomstig uit Rozzano, een stad van minder dan 40,000 mensen in de provincie Milaan. Hij begon boksen in 2008 op de leeftijd van 16, in de voetsporen van zijn oom, die was een bokser op dat moment, evenals Daniele's rolmodel.

 

Scardina, wie had 56 amateur-aanvallen, gevangen hoogste eer in tal van Italiaanse toernooien waaronder de Rovereto National, Nationale Silver Glove, en twee Nationale Golden Gloves. Ook won hij een bronzen medaille op een internationaal evenement.

Zijn arbeidsethos is ongelooflijk; hij is de eerste in de sportschool, laatste te vertrekken. U kunt deze jongen geen kwaad, beide. We geloven allemaal dat hij een zeer mooie toekomst.”

In tegenstelling tot de strijders uit Rusland en de voormalige Sovjet-blok landen, evenals die uit Latijns-Amerika, die naar de Verenigde Staten komen om hun professionele boksen carrière te vestigen, Italië geboren strijders hebben zelden dezelfde route als Scardina gevolgd, die vorig jaar naar Miami verhuisde en slaapt op de vloer van zijn broer appartement.

CORK, Ierland (Maart 12, 2015) – International boksen manager Gary Hyde, president van Nowhere2Hyde management, heeft formeel verzoekschrift ingediend bij de World Boxing Association (WBA) een verplichte titel gevecht tussen Hyde's vechter af te dwingen, WBA Super & World Boxing Organization (WBO) super bantamgewicht kampioen Bill “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KO), en WBA “regelmatig” 122-pond divisie titlist Scott QUIGG (30-0-2, 22 KO).

Ik schrijf als manager van Guillermo Rigondeaux, de Unified WBA / WBO kampioen.

CORK, Ierland (Februari. 12, 2015) – Gevierde Cubaanse amateur-bokser Mark Bos zal zijn professionele debuut maken morgen nacht (Vr, Februari. 13) in een vier-ronde super bantamgewicht periode tegen veteraan Ignac “De Test” Kassai bij 5 Star Banquet Hall in Queens, New York.

 

Een drie-tijd Cubaanse Nationaal kampioen, de 25-jarige Forestal versloeg 2012 Olympisch gouden medaillewinnaar Robeisy Rameriez 14 maanden geleden in een sensationele nationaal kampioenschap finale.

 

Vechten als een semi-pro in de World Series of Boxing (WSB) voor ongeslagen 2014 team kampioen Cuba Domadores, Forestal was ongeslagen in drie WSB past voordat overgelopen naar de Verenigde Staten in april.

 

Forestal tekende een contract afgelopen oktober met Ierland gevestigde, International boksen manager Gary Hyde, president van Nowhere2Hyde management. Hyde aanwezig beheert ook, verleden en toekomst wereldkampioenen zoals World Boxing Association (WBA) Super & World Boxing Organization (WBO) super bantamgewicht kampioen en tweevoudig Cubaanse Olympisch gouden medaillewinnaar, Bill “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KO), WBA Interim cruiserweight kampioen Yuri “El Toro” Kalenga (21-1, 14 KO), voormalige WBO middengewicht kampioen en huidige International Boxing Federation (IBF) Niet Doen. 1 verplichte mededinger Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (31-1, 18 KO), en wereldkampioen bij de amateurs Blagoy Naydenov.

 

“Marcos Forestal is een uitstekende jonge vechter die heeft een actievolle stijl,” Hyde zei. “Hij heeft wat nodig is om wereldkampioen te worden. We konden het niet vinden een Amerikaanse tegenstander Marcos vechten, omdat ze zei dat hij een andere Rigondeaux en Olympisch kampioen was.
