LAS VEGAS (Juuni 21, 2017) – Löömata Eddie Ramirez (17-0, 11 Kos) teenitud jagatud otsuse võitu Erick Bone (16-5, 8 Kos) in põhiturniiri Premier Boxing Champions TOE-to-toe teisipäeval kohta FS1 ja Poks Champions FOX Deportes Teisipäev night from Sam’s Town live in Las Vegas.
Representing Chicago, Ramirez controlled the fight early by working off of his jab and attacking with both hands on the inside. Bone was able to consistently throw counters back, but Ramirez showed good defensive skills throughout the night, never taking serious punishment.
I was comfortable in the ring täna õhtul,” said Ramirez. “I remain unbeaten. I put the pressure on and I got the win. I think the fans will start to see me more and more.
Ramirez began to break through the guard of Bone and had him in trouble in round four before Bone found his composure and finished the round. The second half of the fight saw Bone increase his movement, which seemed to frustrate Ramirez, who was looking to engage and deliver a knockout.
He made it a little difficult because he wasn’t cooperating,” said Ramirez. “He was running around the ring, but I am proud of my performance. I won and that’s all that matters. I’m going to get back in the ring and get back to training until I get word on my next fight.
Bone finished the fight strong and believed he did enough to earn the decision.
“Ma ei ole nõus otsuse,” ütles Bone. “I am frustrated because I feel I won, however the judges saw it differently. I thought I landed more punches and I just don’t see how they came to the decision that was made. He was a good fighter, tough opponent, but again I believe the wrong decision was made täna õhtul.”
After the 10-round welterweight contest concluded it was Ramirez who was awarded the decision with scores of 97-93 kaks korda, while one judge saw the bout 97-93 for Bone.
I want whoever is next,” said Ramirez. “I’m ready for whoever can get me closer to a title shot.
Additional televised action saw Xavier Martinez (8-0, 4 Kos) keep his perfect record intact by earning a shutout unanimous decision against previously unbeaten Prince Smalls (11-1-1, 4 Kos) in their eight-round featherweight contest.
While Smalls had the reach advantage and was dedicated to his jab throughout the bout, Martinez was consistently aggressive and was able to navigate the distance and punish Smalls with hooks to the head and body.
I knew the one advantage he had going into this fight was his height,” Said Martinez. “But once I got in the ring I saw quickly that he was leaving his body open so I just went in and tried to deliver as many combos and hit the body as much as I could.
Martinez landed big power punches all night, including a pinpoint right cross that connected with Smalls at the end of round four. A clean left hook staggered Smalls in round seven as Martinez spent the round punishing his opponent, who was barely able to stay on his feet and finish the frame.
After another dominant round to close out the bout, Martinez was awarded the decision by the score of 80-71 kõik kolm kohtunikku’ tulemuskaardi.
I wanted the knockout and I think the fans could tell,” Said Martinez. “This is my first fight this year, so it’s back in the gym for me as I look to my next opponent. I’ll definitely be ready for anyone.
The opening bout of the telecast saw lightweight prospect Dennis Galarza (16-2, 9 Kos) record his third straight victory via a unanimous decision over Mexico’s Omar Tienda (18-5, 11 Kos) in their 10-round contest.
The taller Galarza used his length early and landed clean hooks on the inside during round one. Tienda came out in round two intent on making it a rough fight and crowding Galarza to negate his reach advantage.
I give my performance about a 7.5,” Said Galarza. “I knew I was coming into the ring with a tough rugged veteran Mexican fighter and he used that to his advantage, I should have used my jab more.
Galarza continued to have success with his left hook throughout the night, while Tienda was able to slow down Galarza’s offense in the middle rounds with a relentless body attack. Much of the battle took place in close quarters and in round nine Tienda was deducted a point by referee Robert Byrd for throwing Galarza to the canvas.
After 10-rounds of hard-fought action, Galarza’s clean work and good movement in the late rounds helped him earn a unanimous decision by scores of 100-89, 99-90 ja 98-91.
There was a lot of holding, but it didn’t really affect my plan,” Said Galarza. “I wanted the knockout going in but I’m just happy I got the win unanimously. I need to get back in the gym and work on really using my jab and uppercut more and I think that will help me going into the next fight.

Eddie Ramirez Training Camp Quotes

Unbeaten Prospect Battles Erick Bone in Main Event of Premier Boxing Champions TOE-to-toe teisipäeval on FS1 & Poks Champions FOX Deportes teisipäev, Juuni 20 from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Juuni 15, 2017) – Löömata väljavaade Eddie Ramirez has made big leaps towards his world title dreams in the last year and he will continue on his path on Teisipäev, Juuni 20kui ta võtab Erick Bone in põhiturniiri Premier Boxing Champions TOE-to-toe teisipäeval kohta FS1 ja Poks Champions on FOX Deportes from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.

Televisiooni ulatus algab 9 Pärastlõunal. JA/6 Pärastlõunal. PT and features a 10-round matchup between junior welterweight prospect Dennis Galarza ja Mehhiko Omar Tienda plus an eight-round battle between unbeaten featherweight prospects Xavier Martinez ja Prince Smalls.

Piletid live sündmus, which is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, on hinnaga $15, $30, $45 ja on müügil nüüd. Tickets are available online at www.samstownlv.com/entertain.

Here is what Ramirez had to say about his training camp, his main event showdown and more:

Where have you been holding training camp and how is it going?

“I’m training in Garfield Park in Chicago with George Hernandez, who has trained me throughout my entire professional career. Treeninglaager on kestnud suur, I’ve been conditioned to stay ready because at any time a fight can come my way. I’m always prepared and I’ll show that on June 20.”

What did you learn about yourself from your last two fights (wins over previously unbeaten fighters Ryan Karl and Kevin Watts)? How have you been able to improve as a fighter?

“After fighting Kevin Watts, I immediately shifted my mentality as a fighter to be more in control and to be smarter. Because being a reckless fighter got me caught and got me knocked down. Ultimately I got the win, but I am thankful for that experience because it helped shape me as a fighter as I continue to face tougher opponents.

“The Karl fight showed off a different Eddie Ramirez. I was a more defensive fighter, I used my counters more and that mindset and growth is what got me the win and will help me get this next one against Bone.”

My last two opponents have really helped me improve as a fighter. The ability has always been there, but I needed those experiences to bring it out of me. Each opponent has been tougher than the last and it’s been very motivating for me as a fighter to continue to be better and perfect my skill. I have always been the underdog so that’s never been a factor or worry for me, I just take each fight as they come and continue to be better. My defense is better, my athleticism has improved, and my mental ability has progressed.”

How do you see this fight with Erick Bone going?

“My expectations or thought process going into this next fight with Erick Bone is to get him out early. I don’t want the fight to go the distance, I have to do whatever I can do to get him out. He’s an aggressive fighter, he’s a technical fighter who has experience, but I am quicker.”

What are your goals for the next year of you career?

A year from now I see myself fighting guys in the Top 10. I want whoever is on that list, I believe I will have progressed as a fighter who people know about and believe has the skill to fight for a world title. I just got to beat out whoever comes my way to show the world who I am and how talented I am as a fighter. I want the big names who are going to get me to the big stage for that world title

LANCASTER, NAGU. (Juuni 12, 2017) – Endine maailmameister Brandon Rios (34-3-1, 24 Kos) returned to the ring with a seventh round TKO of Mexico’s Aaron Herrera (23-7-1, 14 Kos) in põhiturniiri Premier Boxing Champions edasi FS 1 ja FOX Sports Pühapäevnight from The Pioneer Event Center in Lancaster, California.
I had that good nervous feeling tonight, like before my pro debut,” said Rios. “I was a little jittery but it felt good in there.
In his first fight sisse 19 kuud, Rios showed off his signature exciting style in breaking down the very game Herrera before stopping him late in their welterweight contest. Rios controlled the action from the outset as he showed off his strong inside game while tagging Herrera with hooks and uppercuts.
Herrera received a fair deal of punishment across the early rounds but remained competitive in consistently throwing back against the aggressive Rios, who was able to parry some of Herrera’s shots with effective head movement. Herrera had his best round in the fourth when he changed the tides momentarily by being more active than Rios.
I’m always ready for whoever they put in front of me,” said Rios. “He was tough and he was swinging hard. I had to be careful and couldn’t go in there crazy. He caught me sometimes but that’s part of the sport.
The shift did not last long as Rios ramped the pressure back up and began to slow Herrera down with increased body work. Herrera kept fighting back but was clearly tiring late in the sixth round as Rios teed off on him against the ropes with big power punches.
Next time I get in there I’ll be better,” said Rios. “You’ll see more progress each time I get out there. I still have my same style but I’m adding some more athleticism and head movement to it. I felt like I did well in there.
The attack continued in the seventh round as Rios stalked Herrera towards the ropes before eventually delivering the pinpoint right hook to the body that put Herrera on the mat. Herrera was unable to beat the count and Rios returned to the win column with a stoppage victory2:11 tekib ümmargune.
This is a new beginning and a new chapter in the book that I’m writing,” said Rios. “We’re ready to move forward from here. I’m ready for the next challenge.
The co-main event of the telecast saw unbeaten Mario Barrios (19-0, 11 Kos) score a sensational knockout of Jose Luis Rodriguez (23-9-1, 13 Kos) with left hook to the body that ended their super lightweight battle in the seventh round.
I knew that he was going to fight the whole time,” Said Barrios. “He was going to stay coming in and I had to keep my distance. I stunned him with an overhand and then I found him on the liver.
Barrios was impressive from the start, using his length to pick off his opponent with powerful uppercuts in the opening minutes of the bout. Despite taking numerous clean power shots from Barrios throughout the battle, Rodriguez never stopped attacking and was able to occasionally frustrate Barrios with his relentless physicality.
The bout was eventually defined by the powerful body shots that Barrios dedicated himself to delivering throughout the fight. The consistent effort clearly slowed Rodriguez, who took more and more clean punches as the fight went on.
Early in round seven Barriosattack finally wore Rodriguez down as a series of punches culminating with the left to the body put Rodriguez on the canvas. Referee Zac Young quickly called off the bout 37 seconds into the round to give Barrios his third straight knockout victory.
I want to fight everyone in the 140-pound weight class,” Said Barrios. “I’m going to take it one fight at a time and work my way up to a world title shot.
Menetluse algatamise hooaeg telesaade, tõuseb väljavaade Jose Miguel Borrego (12-0,11 Kos) remained unbeaten with a fourth-round stoppage of Kevin Watts (11-2, 4 Kos) in their super lightweight matchup.
Watts was the more aggressive fighter in round one, controlling the action with his jab as Borrego switched stances but threw few punches. Watts continued to have success in round two sticking Borrego with power shots while avoiding the returning punches Borrego threw back.
The third round saw Borrego begin to break through the guard of Watts with powerful left hooks, which seemed to slow the movement of the previously once-beaten Watts, who began to stand and exchange more with his opponent. As the action heated up in round four, Borrego connected with a massive left hook that stunned and bloodied Wattsright eye.

Borrego kept up the attack and eventually sent Watts to the canvas with another left hand over two minutes into the round. While Watts returned to his feet, Borrego quickly cornered him and delivered another flurry that forced referee Jack Reiss to halt the bout 2:42 tekib ümmargune.

Here is what Barrios had to say about training camp, his matchup and more:
On fighting Jose Luis Rodriguez:
“Kahjuks, in the last twelve months, I’ve had two opponents come in overweight when I was scheduled to fight on national television. I was ready to fight both times but my team advised me to cancel the bouts because the fighters were at least 10 pounds above the contracted weight. Jose Luis Rodriguez is a very tough fighter who went the distant with Felix Verdejo, who many people consider a top prospect. I just hope Rodriguez makes weight and the fight happens because I’m ready to shine.
On his return to FS1 & FOX Deportes as the co-main event:
I’m very excited to be returning on FS1 even though I’m not the main-event as I was scheduled to be last month. My management team once again is putting me in a great position on national television. In this fight, I’m the co-main event and I’m eager to showcase my talents at super-lightweight. I’m going to put on a great show for everyone watching.
On his recent training camp with Virgil Hunter in California
Virgil and I are working great together. I feel I’m constantly getting better with Virgil each and every day we are together. He’s a great motivator and I’m pushing myself to become a stronger, faster fighter. I’ve been in camp for the last three months and I’m like a lion ready to come out of his cage.
On fighting in Lancaster, NAGU…
I’ve fought several times in California and the fans out here are incredible. This will be my first time fighting in Lancaster and I’m expecting the same lively crowd. The fans are what make this sport go so expect me to come out guns blazing. I’m going to explosive in this fight.

Here is what Rios and his trainer had to say Kolmapäev:
BRANDON RIOS
I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.
When I said that I was done, I was done. Eventually though I started getting that urge again, to get on that stage and perform on TV. My wife told me that if I wanted to fight again, I had to come back dedicated.
It’s really cool to be fighting right after the Mexico vs. USA match. I’m a Mexican-American but I live in the United States so it’ll be USA vs. Mexico in the ring as well when I face Herrera.
I know that I have a very skilled, tough opponent. He’s working with Juan Manuel Marquez and he’s very experienced. He’s faced some really tough opponents. It’s going to be a good fight to get back in the ring with.
I felt like I needed a new voice in my corner. There’s nothing against (former trainer) Robert Garcia, I respect him and he got me to where I am today, but I felt like I got too used to that situation.
I told (Rios’ treener) Ricky Funez that I wanted to come back and have him train me and thankfully he was excited to work with me. We started working really hard and we took some time to get to know each other more and more.
I Googled ‘Southern California boxing trainersand Ten Goose Boxing and Ricky came up, and I decided to hit him up. So I direct messaged him on Instagram and the rest is history.
I feel like I’m in really good shape after working with a nutritionist for the first time. My nutritionist is with me 12 hours a day and it’s had me feeling great heading into this fight.
I’ve always been a brawler, but I’m capable of boxing, especially with my inside game. The way I can deflect punches is a strength.
I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.
RICKY FUNEZ, Rios’ Treener
Training Brandon was a good challenge for me but he has been disciplined from the very start. I laid it all out for him from the beginning, I just wanted a good response from him and he said he’s going to work hard.
A lot of people said that he was done, and that motivated me. I’ve seen Joe Goossen bring fighters back like Diego Corrales and he’s my mentor in this sport. I’m working hard to push Brandon and get him to that level.
Brandon is a stubborn fighter but he really does listen. He has a lot of tools and I think you’ll see that he hasn’t lost anything in that ring pühapäeval.”

Lewkowicz Congratulates ‘PilonLara for Smashing KO of Briones

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz wishes to congratulate undefeated featherweight, Jorge “Uhmrinui” Lara of Mexico, for his sensational stoppage of Mario Briones last Saturday night.
Fighting in the nationally televised semi-final bout in support of David Benavidez’s eighth-round KO over RogelioPorkyMedina at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas, Lara (29-0-2, 21 Kos) returned in impressive fashion from a 13-month layoff to TKO his countryman Briones (28-6-2, 21 Kos) kolmandas voorus.
Kiiresti, powerful and relentless, Lara, a 26-year-old southpaw from Guadalajara, dropped Briones twice in round two and then finished the job at 2:03.
The performance was particularly remarkable, considering Lara was coming off an extended layoff due to a hand injury suffered in his previous fight, a career-changing KO over multiple-time world champion Fernando Montiel, as well as a gunshot wound suffered in a botched robbery attempt in Mexico.
Lewkowicz says Lara will now be chasing the big game in his weight class, especially WBC Featherweight Champion Gary Russell Jr.
“Russell Jr. has talked about moving up in weight,” ütles Lewkowicz, “Pilon Lara would love to get him in the ring first and send him on his way. He is too strong and powerful for anyone at the weight. This was the most-watched broadcast of PBC on FSN and the world now knows he is a star on the rise.
According to Lewkowicz, Lara was shaking off some ring rust while dominating the respectable Briones.

As good as he looked, he is even more frightening at this weight,” ütles Lewkowicz. “Jorge Lara will destroy any champion or top contender he fights. We are now working on getting one of them in the ring, starting with Gary Russell Jr. Congratulations to my latest new star in boxing for his sensational performance.

LAREDO, TX (Mai 21, 2017) – Unbeaten rising contender David Benavidez (18-0, 17 Kos) Phoenix, Ariz. knocked out exciting former title challenger RogelioPorkyMedina (37-8, 31 Kos) from San Luis Rio, Mexico in a super middleweight world title eliminator that headlined a special Laupäev night edition of Premier Boxing Champions edasi FS 1 ja FOX Sports pärit Laredo Energy Arena Laredo, Texas.
The action-packed main event opened with several crowd-pleasing exchanges in the first pair of rounds. Round three offered more of the same as the rugged pair of pugilists went toe-to-toe giving and receiving each other’s best.
Neljandas voorus, Benavidez caught Medina with a left uppercut and then followed with a flurry that backed Medina up, but amazingly Medina stayed upright. Medina fought back and engaged Benavidez, but Benavidez landed a sensational seven-punch combination to close out the round.
At the end of round six, Benavidez damaged Medina with an onslaught of offense that buckled Medina into the ropes with referee Jon Shorle ruling it a knockdown. Medina survived the round, but only to eat another bombardment of punches and get dropped for a second time at the end of the seventh round due to a right uppercut to his solar plexus.
Round eight brought a close as Benavidez landed one final eight-punch combo that dropped Medina for a third time and caused Shorle to stop the action at 1:01 into the eighth round.
Benavidez said, “This is just a glimpse of what I can do. I’ve never fought a fighter that pushed me to the full extent like this. Porky Medina is a tremendous fighter. It took everything for me to knock him out, but it was an amazing fight.
Benavidez continued, “My biggest advantage tonight was my jab. I didn’t throw it as much as I would have liked, but just enough to set him up. I’m looking forward to getting back in the gym and coming back even stronger.
A disappointed Medina said, “Andsin endast parima täna õhtul. The plan was to win, work him from beginning to end, but he moved a little bit more than I anticipated. (Benavidez) did his job and hit me with a few good shots. But I’m going to keep training for my shot at a title and hopefully it will come.
The win elevates Benavidez into the mandatory position to challenge for the vacant super middleweight world title that will go to the winner of the agreed to Anthony Dirrell vs. Callum Smith clash.
Benavidez concluded, “This makes me more humble and gives me more motivation to work harder. There has never been a super middleweight champion at 20-years old, but I’m going to be the first to do that.
Televised coverage kicked off with unbeaten featherweight contender Jorge Lara (29-0-2, 21 Kos) Guadalajara, Mexico defeating Mario Briones (28-6-2, 22 Kos) from Aguascalientes, Mexico by third round knockout in their scheduled 10-round contest.
Esimeses voorus, Lara worked to establish an aggressive pace and punished Briones. The second round began with more of the same, Lara hitting Briones with punches in bunches. Briones was able to hold his ground initially, but a straight left with a little less than one minute remaining in the second frame sent Briones to the canvas. Lara then knocked Briones down for a second time with a wild right hand at the close of the round, but Briones quickly regained himself after time expired and was allowed to continue.
The third round opened with Lara mixing it up to the body before landing an overhand right that further dazed Briones. Lara, smelling blood in the water, swarmed Briones with a barrage of punches and forced referee Lee Rogers to stop the bout at :58 into the third.
Not resting on the win, Lara said, “I felt great to get back in the ring tonight. This was a fantastic win for me, but there are four champions out there in my division. I’m ready to fight whoever asks me out of those four belt holders.
The swing bout featured Austin Dulay (10-0, 7 Kos) of Hermitage, Tenn. winning a unanimous decision (59-52, 59-52, 59-52) in a six-round junior lightweight fight against Jose Esquivel (10-6, 2 Kos) from Laredo, Texas.
The final televised fight of the evening showcased Adam Lopez (7-0, 3 Kos) Glendale, Californias. võideti Jordan Valge (4-1, 3 Kos) of Landover, Md. ühehäälse otsusega (59-55,59-55, 60-54) in a six-round bantamweight bout.
