Dedicated Perrella ready for biggest challenge of his career

Fort Myers, Florida (Juliol 25, 2018) – To say that welterweight Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella lives, eats and breathes boxing wouldn’t be an understatement.

 

 

 

The 29-year-old Fort Myers native trains year round, doesn’t drink or smoke and keeps a strict diet. When he’s not feverishly pounding away at the heavy bag, shadowboxing, combat, or doing roadwork in the sweltering heat, Perrella’s likely at a fitness facility in Southwest Florida.

 

 

 

“He puts his entire life into this sport and taking care of his body,” said Michael Nowling, Perrella’s head trainer. “I’ve seen plenty of fighters work hard in the gym to get ready for a fight then take breaks after and balloon up in weight. Bryant is the exact opposite – I have to tell him he needs a break.”

 

 

 

A 6’1 southpaw, Perrella’s regarded as one of the better up and coming 147 pound fighters. En 15-1 amb 13 triomfs per nocaut, Perrella’s scored impressive victories over fellow welterweight hopefuls David Grayton and Alex Martin. In his lone setback, a fourth round stoppage by title contender Yordenis Ugas, Perrella entered the bout with a right leg injury and left with many lessons learned.

 

 

 

Encara, he’s expecting the toughest challenge of his career when he battles former welterweight champion Luis Collazo, 37-7 (20 Nocauts), Agost 4 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Nova York. Residing in nearby Brooklyn, Nova York, the slick southpaw not only has the hometown advantage but the edge in experience having faced Shane Mosley, Keith Thurman, Andre Berto, Ricky Hatton, Victor Ortiz and Amir Khan among others.

 

 

 

“Luis Collazo is one of the craftiest boxers around and he’s been a top fighter for many years,” Perrella said. “He’s given everybody a tough fight and had a few close decisions go against him. I expect this to be the biggest challenge of my career but I’m ready for it. Fights like these are the reason I’ve dedicated my life to boxing. I don’t just want to win – I want to win impressively and show the boxing world that I’m worthy of a title shot in the near future.”

 

 

 

Perrella meets Collazo over ten rounds and the bout airs at 5:30 pm ET on FS2.

Perrella Outpoints Martin; Ready for next Challenge

Desembre 9, 2017 (Hialeah, Florida) – Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella returned to the ring with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Alex “Chi-Town Heat” Martin Friday, Desembre 8.
The eight round welterweight bout took place at the Hialeah Racetrack in Hialeah, FL and aired on FS1.
Fighting for the first time a 14 mesos and coming off a severe injury, Perrella looked to impress from the opening bell. The Fort Myers native came out aggressive and decked Martin with a picture perfect right hook in the opening round. Perrella continued to be the aggressor while the Chicago-based Martin picked his spots and relied on movement. Martin had a few good moments later in the fight but Perrella’s power and punch output earned him a clear-cut victory.
Els puntajes van ser 79-72 dues vegades i 77-74. Perrella improves to 15-1 amb 13 KO’s while Martin is 13-3 (5 Nocauts).
"It felt great to come back” said Perrella. “I didn’t feel any ring rust and I’m satisfied with my performance. I controlled the fight with my jab and ring generalship (even after) he went into survival mode. I’m back and ready for whoever they put in front of me. My goal is still to become a world champion!"

Fort Myers, Florida (Novembre 30, 2017) - El pes welter Bryant "Goodfella" Perrella torna al ring contra Alex "Chi Town Heat" Martin Divendres, Desembre 8 al Hialeah Park de Miami, Florida.
El enfrontament Perrella-Martin està previst 10 ronda i s'emet a FS1 a 9 PM ET com a part de Premier Boxing Champions' “PBC a FS1” sèrie. El combat continua amb un enfrontament de pes lleuger entre l'excampió del món Jean Pascal i l'invicte Ahmed Elbiali.
Lluitant per primera vegada des del decebedor contratemps contra Yordenis Ugas al setembre 2016, El de Perrella és excepcional 14-1 amb 13 triomfs per nocaut. El nadiu de Fort Myers té impressionants victòries d'aturada davant David Grayton (14-0), Ramon Ayala (25-5-1), Abraham Álvarez (20-8-1) i Patrick Boozer (11-3). Una rata de gimnàstica autodenominada, el jove de 28 anys ha passat l'últim any afinant les seves habilitats alhora que permet que una lesió persistent es curi..
Viure i lluitar fora de Chicago, Illinois, Martin és 13-2 com a professional i té 5 victòries per nocaut. Perrella torna a Fort Myers amb Goodfella's Great Students

Fort Myers, Florida (Agost 21, 2016) - L'artista invicte de pes welter Bryant "Goodfella" Perrella i l'equip Perrella estan orgullosos d'anunciar que tornaran a Fort Myers mitjançant una iniciativa anomenada "Goodfella's Great Students".
Creat per Perrella, "Goodfella's Great Students" proporciona un incentiu addicional perquè els estudiants superin a l'aula. Cada mes, Perrella i l'entrenador principal Michael Nowling dedicaran temps als estudiants destacats seleccionats per l'administració de l'escola. Els alumnes seleccionats rebran invitacions personals i seran transportats cap a i des del Syndicate Boxing Club, on participaran en un divertit entrenament a càrrec de Perrella i Nowling. Actualment, L'escola secundària Coronado està inscrita al programa gratuït i diverses escoles han expressat un gran interès a unir-s'hi.
"He estat a la zona de Fort Myers tota la meva vida,” va dir Perrella, que té un historial excepcional 14-0 amb 13 triomfs per nocaut. Perrella back in training; excited for next Opportunity

Fort Myers, Florida (Juny 22, 2016) – Welterweight rising star Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella has returned to the gym and is training in anticipation of his next bout.
Al juny 4, Perrella destroyed previously unbeaten two time National Golden Gloves champion David Grayton on ESPN. Rather than go on vacation or celebrate his victory, Perrella immediately wanted to resume training. At the advice of his team, he took a short period of time off before getting back into the gym less than two weeks after his career best victory.

Even though he’s currently waiting to get the word on his next fight date, the 27-year-old Fort Myers native believes he’ll be in another televised bout in the coming months. Naturalment, his immediate goal is to raise his record to 15-0 while continuing to fight his way into the upper echelon of the 147 divisió de lliures.

“I live, eat and sleep boxing,” va dir Perrella. “This is what I do for a living and I take my career seriously. Since I’m moving up and believe I’m ready to take a big step forward in the welterweight division, there’s no time to waste. I don’t have any vices and stay in shape year round.
