PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (December 2, 2017) – Professional boxing returned to The Strand Ballroom and Theatre in Providence last night, December 1 voor de eerste keer in 20 jaar and popular Providence featherweight Toka “T-Nice” Kahn Clary didn’t disappoint the large, raucous crowd.
Kahn-Clary (24-1, 16 KO) turned in a dominant performance, winning by way of a seventh-round technical knockout, over previously undefeated Filipino slugger John Vincent Moralde (19-1, 10 KO), the WBC Asian featherweight titlist, om de vacante World Boxing Council vast te leggen (WBC) USNBC featherweight championship.

The 25-year-old Kahn-Clary, who won the North American Boxing Association (Ook) title in his last fight, used a stiff jab and solid defense to frustrate his opponent early in the fight, setting the pace to take a decisive scoring advantage.
Toka-Kahn came out firing in the fourth round, applying more pressure to take full command, en hij liet nooit op. The American debut of undefeated Italian cruiserweight Fabio “Stone Crusher” Turchi (13-0, 11 KO) was a clinic in last night’s co-featured event against Demetrius Banks (9-4, 4 KO), van Detroit. Turchi patiently applied constant pressure, methodically breaking down the game Banks and hurting his opponent with a flurry of punches in the third round. The end came when Banks failed to answer the bell for round five.
“Ik ben zo blij,” Turchi remarked after the fight. “This was so emotional for me because it was the first time I fought in front of Evander. I’m happy with my performance but I think I could have done better”.
“I felt the heat from the Italian-American fans and I thank them for helping me sustain. I also want to thank The Real Deal Boxing. My next fight will be Februari 2 at home in Florence, for the European Union title.”
In the CBSSN televised opener, red-hot featherweight prospect made Irvin Gonzalez(8-0, 7 KO) made the most of his national TV debut, switching freely from orthodox stance to southpaw and back throughout the fight, en route to a sensational third-round knockout of Colombian knockout artist Marlon Olea (13-2, 12 KO). The lightning-quick Gonzalez, van Worcester, MA, consistently beat his opponent to the punch, and finished off Olea with a straight right to the body to keep his perfect pro record intact. “Evander Holyfield is one of the few living legends in our sport,” Ring 8 president Jack Hirsch zei. “Zo, you can imagine how thrilled we are to have him as a guest speaker. We had planned to present Holyfield with the Ring 8 Legends Award at our holiday banquet, but a lucrative business opportunity will prohibit him from being there that afternoon. Holyfield has retired as a boxer with an outstanding 44-10-2 (29 KO), but this past year he has operated a New York City-based promotional company, Real Deal Boxing. A U.S. Olympiër, Holyfield is the only unified world cruiserweight champion, as well as a four-time heavyweight champion of the world.
He had a 16-7-2 record in world title fights and won 19 van 30 fights with two draws against past or present world champions, defeating a Who’s Who list of all-time greats such as Dwight Muhammad Qawi, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe en Mike Tyson (tweemaal), onder de meer notabelen.
Born in Brooklyn and now a resident of Queens, Collazo (37-7. 20 KO) veroverde de World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight world title on April 2, 2005, winning a 12-round split decision over hometown favorite and defending champion Jose Antonio Rivera in Worcester, Massachusetts.

This will be Kahn-Clary’s first fight in Providence since his professional debut in June 2012. The 25-year-old will be making his fourth start of 2017 with prior victories this year against Angel Luna and Francisco Medel.
Just 23-years-old, Moralde will be fighting for the first time in the United States. Holder of the WBC Asian Boxing Council Featherweight Title, Moralde is coming off a third-round stoppage of Philip Parcon on February 28, 2017 in General Santos City, Philippines.
The heavy handed Moralde is on a three-bout knockout streak, two of which came in the first round.
Co-featured on the outstanding card and also making his U.S. debut is Undefeated Italian Cruiserweight Contender FABIO “Stone Crusher” TURCHI, (12-0-0, 9 KO's), of Florence, Italy in an eight-round clash.

Afgestudeerd aan de Brown University, de nu 80-jarige Sammartino heeft twee andere carrières genoten als kaakchirurg en investeringsadviseur bij Blue Fin in Providence, naast zijn rol als internationaal boksrechter sindsdien 1985.
“Ik begon met boksen omdat Joey Angelo trouwde met mijn neef,” Legde Sammartino uit. “Hij vocht begin jaren veertig terug. Joey vocht twee keer tegen Willie Pep en tegen Sandy Saddler. Dat is waar ik mee begon. Vroeger hadden we het geweldige Maandag Night Fights in Rhode Island Auditorium en ik herinner me hoe ik Rocky Marciano zag vechten “Tijger” Ted Lowry daar.”
Omdat hij een succesvolle kaakchirurg was, Clark zou lange weekenden nodig hebben om over de hele wereld gevechten te beoordelen. Zijn eerste en meest memorabele wereldtitelgevecht was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Door zijn lange carrière, Sammartino oordeelde meer dan 400 pro gevechten, inclusief 50 grote wereldtitelgevechten.

PROVIDENCE, RI (Oktober 5, 2017) – Featherweight prospect Toka “T Nice” Kahn-Clary (22-1, 15 KO) will headline his fist show Zaterdag nacht, Oktober 19 at Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta, promoted by Hall-of-Famer Evander Holyfield‘s Real Deal Sports & Beheer, in a 10-round bout against Braulio “Het Kind” Rodriguez voor de vacante World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas featherweight title.

He was also a silver medalist at the 2009 National Golden Gloves Championships and 2011 U.S. Nationale Kampioenschappen, in addition to being bronze medalist at the 2012 U.S. Nationals Championships.
Rodriguez (19-2, 17 KO), who was the WBC super featherweight champion two years ago, is a heavy-handed, battle-tested Dominican. He will be fighting in the United States for the first time as a professional.
“He’s a tough kid who, Ik denk, should be 20-1 because I watched his last fight and he should have gotten the decision (LSDEC8 to 12-0-1 Alberto Mercado in Puerto Rico),” Kahn-Clary noted. “He’s very awkward and fights in spurts. I need to be smart and use my experience.”
Kahn-Clary vs. Rodriguez, is somewhat of a crossroads fight with career-critical future implications for both fighters with the winner advancing to the next level, while the loser could become a permanent opponent.

“This is the big fight for Toka,” his advisor Seth DeRobbio explained. “I think it’ll be a good fight. His opponent is a big puncher with 17 knockouts in 19 wins. Toka has an opportunity to showcase his talents in a main event for the first time. Stopping a guy like this who has never been knocked out can be huge for Toka.

It’s difficult boxing as you back up, but Toka proved that he can fight like that if needed. All Toka’s skills will be on display this fight. It’s a great opportunity for him.”
Kahn-Clary vs. Rodriguez was originally slated to be held September 30 in Louisville, but venue issues forced the postponement and subsequent relocation to Atlanta.
“I was upset that the fight was pushed back only because my weight was on point,” Kahn-Clary admitted,” but fighters need to adjust in and out of the ring and everything is good. Some good came out of it, hoewel. I found more video of my opponent to watch, and additional training and sparring helps, te.”
“The postponement actually helps us,” DeRobbio added. “It gives us three additional weeks to train to prepare for the biggest fight of Toka’s life. At this stage of his career every fight for Toka from here on out will be his biggest fight of his career.”
