TITLE FIGHTS HEADLINE FINAL NEF EVENT OF 2018

The professional side of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights as Ryan Sanders (17-9) defends the lightweight strap against Jacob Bohn (7-5) και Ras Hylton (3-1) πληροί Yorgan De Castro (2-0) to crown the first-ever NEF cruiserweight champion.

 

 

 

Sanders has held the lightweight title since April 2017 when he defeated Jon Lemke (7-9) in a tournament final. He has won a remarkable eight in a row in the NEF cage, not losing on Maine soil in four years. New York’s Jacob Bohn has won his last two in a row over veterans Kenny Foster (12-13) and Lewis Corapi (8-4) αντίστοιχα.

 

 

 

Ras Hylton is coming off a highlight-reel elbow knockout of Eric Bedard (6-8) τον περασμένο Αύγουστο. NEF SELLS OUT BANGOR FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR WITH WILD MMA CARD

Μπανγκόρ, Μέιν (Σεπτέμβριος 9, 2018) - Νέα Αγγλία Αγώνες (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 35: Κακή σεζόν,” on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. It was the third time in as many years that the fight promotion visited the Queen City and sold out the venue.

The main event featured a bout hailed as the “Battle of Bangor” as popular locals Aaron “Αμείλικτος” Lacey (6-2) και Jon Λέμκε (7-9) squared off. Lacey submitted Lemke in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

Forlenza was able to score a technical knockout via referee stoppage due to strikes to capture the title. FINISHES GALORE HIGHLIGHT NEF 34 FIGHT NIGHT IN PORTLAND; NEF ANNOUNCES RETURN TO BANGOR

Πόρτλαντ, Μέιν (Ιούνιος 17, 2018) - Νέα Αγγλία Αγώνες (NEF) made its return to Portland, Maine on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave.” A jam-packed house of fight fans took in the action as NEF fighters delivered the non-stop excitement from bell to bell in what many are calling one of the best events the company has ever produced.

 

 

 

On a card featuring a total of 18 αγώνες, οι δικαστές’ scorecards were not needed until the thirteenth bout of the evening. Thirteen of the evening’s fights ended in the first round.

 

 

 

Kam Arnold (4-0) and Killian Murphy (1-1) waged an absolute war for the vacant amateur bantamweight title in what made history as the first amateur fight in Maine to ever go beyond the old three-round limit. NEF RELEASES FIGHT CARD FOR RETURN TO PORTLAND ON JUNE 16

Langston and Ornelas initially met last month at “ΝΕΦ 33” with Ornelas coming out on top via unanimous decision. Langston immediately requested a rematch blaming his performance on nerves surrounding his pro debut. Ornelas obliged and has promised to finish Langston this time out, leaving no room for question.

 

 

 

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights. Undefeated Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) προοπτική Kam Arnold (3-0) θα αντιμετωπίσει Michael Crespo (3-3) of First Class MMA for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. The bout will be a rematch of their fight in Portland earlier this month. Ornelas and Langston initially met at “ΝΕΦ 33” τον Απρίλιο 14 at Aura. Ορνέλας, a member of Portland’s The Choi Institute, put on an impressive showing for the duration of three rounds on his way to a unanimous decision win on the judges’ scorecards. The victory was Ornelas’ first in the NEF cage with four previous attempts since the promotion’s inception in February 2012. (He holds a record of 1-0 as a professional in the NEF boxing ring as well.) Not only is Ornelas predicting another win over Langston on Ιούνιος 16 – he promises to finish his foe this time.

“Carl said his nerves got the better of him that night. Μη, they didn’t – Εγώ got the better of him, once I stepped into that cage and took the center and looked him in the eye,” said Ornelas imperatively. “I saw fear. A true fighter has no fear. Ιούνιος 16, he will see what a true fighter looks like, as he looks up at me from the flat of his back.”

Ο “ΝΕΦ 33” bout with Ornelas was Langston’s pro debut after a lengthy amateur career that spanned 16 fights and more than four years. Many of his friends and family had turned out for the event in his hometown of Portland. And while Langston did force Ornelas to the scorecards, the Young’s MMA member was disappointed in his own performance, blaming the loss on nerves. He immediately asked NEF matchmakers for a rematch against Ornelas on the Ιούνιος 16 Portland card.

NEF DROWNS PORTLAND WITH RIPTIDE BEFORE CAPACITY CROWD; CHOI INSTITUTE SHINES IN PRO FIGHTS

Πόρτλαντ, Μέιν (Απρίλιος 15, 2018) - Νέα Αγγλία Αγώνες (NEF) made its return to Portland on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 33: Riptide.” For the second time in as many events at the venue, NEF packed Aura with a sold-out crowd.

On the amateur portion of the card, Kam Arnold (3-0) continued his winning ways with a highlight-reel, one-punch knockout of Ο David Thompson (1-3). Arnold, a hot prospect out of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in nearby Lewiston, Μέιν, dropped Thompson with a right hand in the first round to remain undefeated.

Walt Shea (3-1) και Nate Boucher (2-3) met in the amateur headliner at a catchweight of 130-pounds. Both athletes were looking to bounce back from losses in their last respective NEF appearances, but it was Shea who took the victory late in the third round when referee Kevin MacDonald stopped the fight due to strikes. Carl Langston is one of the longest-active members of the NEF roster, having made his debut with the promotion as an amateur in the fall of 2013. Langston brought an extensive background in Taekwondo with him to the cage, resulting in many exciting striking battles over the years. Langston finished his amateur career with a record of 7-9 and a win over Ornelas’ Choi Institute teammate Henry Clark (3-4) στο “NEF 31″ in Portland last fall. Langston is currently a member of Young’s MMA in Bangor, Μέιν.

 

 

 

 

“I couldn’t be more pumped to be making my pro debut in the city of Portland where I grew up,” said Langston when reached for comment. “I’ve been waiting four years for this moment, and I’m going to capitalize on it by finishing this guy, beating him just like I beat his teammate.”

 

 

 

 

There are very few MMA competitors with hands as fast as Ernesto Ornelas. Now residing in Portland, Ornelas was a multi-time Golden Gloves champion during his amateur boxing days in his home state of California. He is currently 1-1 ως επαγγελματίας πυγμάχος. As for welcoming Carl into the pro ranks, I know it’s going to an exciting fight. I’ve coached against Carl three times and seen the opportunities he presents stylistically.
