LANG STRAND, Calif. (Juli 30, 2017) – Ongeslagen vedergewicht vooruitzicht Tramaine “De machtige dwerg” Williams made a major statement last night (Zaterdag, Juli 29), dropping former world title challenger William “Chirizo” Gonzalez three times in the opening round of a sensational performance in the “KO Night Boksen” Rumble on the Water 2″ main event, which aired live on CBS Sports Network from The Queen Mary’s outdoor venue in Long Beach, Californië.

“KO Night Boksen: Rumble on the Water 2” was presented by Black Tree, and promoted by Roy Englebrecht Promotions, in samenwerking met KO Night Boxing LLC en Roc Nation Sports.

The 5′ 4″ Williams (12-0, 5 KO), fighting out of New Haven (CT), exploded with pin-point accuracy, also displaying his new-found power, dropping Gonzalez 30-8, 26 KO), of Nicaragua, three time in the first round. The crafty southpaw finished off his more experienced opponent with a perfectly placed right-left combination, right on the button, for his third and final knockdown. Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waved off the action, not bothering to count, as Gonzalez lay vertical on his back in dire straits.
“I prepared well for this fight and anything can happen when I work hard,” Williams remarked after his third consecutive knockout victory. “I felt his power early with a body shot but I stayed focused.
“I can deal with anybody in my division. I want to fight Lee Selby (IBF featherweight world champion), or any of the world champions, but none will fight me. I really want Gary Russell (WBC champion); Ik ben hier, Gary. It’ll be target practice for me.”
In de co-functie, highly touted super middleweight prospect Junior “De jonge God” Younan (13-0, 9 KO) bleef ongeslagen, winning a close eight-round decision against tough Mike “The Menace” Guy, van Sacramento (ZOALS), the former California State champion. (9-3-1, 5 KO) Guy was penalized a point for tossing Younan to the mat at the end of round six or the result would have been a majority draw.
In his first eight-round fight, the 21-year-old Younan gained invaluable experience fighting the non-stop Guy, who kept coming forward, throwing punches from all angles, at his Brooklyn opponent.

“You can’t learn if you don’t go rounds,” Younan correctly noted after the fight. “I’m only going to improve. Guy kept moving forward the entire fight. There were a couple of things that bothered me, but I went eight hard rounds and won. Thank you to Mike Guy for that.”
Former Winthrop College (SC) basketbalspeler Jonnie Rice (7-2-1, 4 KO), uitvechten van Los Angeles, opened the televised broadcast with a convincing six-round unanimous decision over Rodney “King Corso” Hernandez (10-6-2, 2 KO), van Fresno (ZOALS).
“I thought I did real well against a good opponent,” former power forward Rice said after the fight “He’s an athlete, getting better each fight. He’s not the same fighter he was a year ago. I’m becoming more strategic, working on my jab to get better. Basketball players need good footwork like Chris Paul and Lebron James. I’m working to bring my footwork from basketball to boxing,”
Woonplaats favoriet Raul Calderon (1-0) pitched a shutout over Eric Gomez (0-1), winning a four-round unanimous decision (40-36 X 3), in a battle of pro-debuting Californians. In the walkout-fight, Los Angeles featherweight Sergio “De jongen” Quiroz verbeterd 4-0 with a four-round unanimous decision over Lupe Arrotyo (2-7).

(Juli 24, 2017) – Former junior boxing prodigy and undefeated professional prospect, ongeslagen Junior “De jonge God” Younan, will be showcased in the “KO Night Boksen: Rumble on the Water 2” co-feature deze zaterdag (Juli 29), luchten (10 p.m. EN / 7 p.m. PT) op CBS Sports Network, live vanuit de openluchtlocatie van The Queen Mary in Long Beach, Californië. The Queen Mary will be hosting its first pro boxing show.

The 21-year-old Younan (12-0, 9 KO), uitvechten van Brooklyn, takes on former USA California super middleweight champion Mike Guy (9-2-1, 5 KO), van Sacramento (ZOALS), in the eight-round co-featured event.
“This will be a coming out party for me,” Younan said. “I’m going to go out there and try to make a statement. It’s been a great start to the year – it’s my third fight this year – and I feel like I’m getting better and better each one.”
In the night’s 10-round main event, ongeslagen vedergewicht vooruitzicht Tramaine “De machtige dwerg” Williams (11-0, 4 KO), van New Haven (CT), squares off against former world title challenger William “Chirizo” Gonzalez (30-7, 26 KO), of Nicaragua.
“KO Night Boksen: Rumble on the Water 2”, presented by Black Tree, wordt gepromoot door Roy Englebrecht Promotions, in samenwerking met KO Night Boxing LLC en Roc Nation Sports.
Fighting under the Roc Nation banner, Younan was a highly-decorated amateur boxer, compiling an outstanding 90-5 record. Given his success, Younan elected to turn pro in 2013 as an 18-year-old, rather than wait several years for an opportunity to qualify for the U.S. Olympisch Boksen Team.
Younan started boxing competitively as an eight-year-old and, alleen twee jaar later, The New York Times crowned him a “boxing prodigy”. During his impressive amateur career, he collected several belts, medals and awards, including nine championship performances in the Junior Olympics as well as the Junior Metros, eight in the New York State Silver Gloves, and five more in the Regional Silver Gloves. He was also a four-time National Silver Gloves recipient, three-time Ringside World winner, three-time National PAL, and two-time National Junior Golden Gloves champion. In 2011, he was crowned the National Junior Golden Gloves champion, in addition to being USA Boxing’s No. 1-rated junior boxer in his weight class.

Nagging injuries somewhat curtailed Younan’s development, limiting him to one fight in 2015. After a nine-month layoff, he returned triumphantly on March 26, 2016 to defeat Cristian Solorzano, van Sonora, Mexico, op de Andre Ward vs. Sullivan Barrera undercard at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Californië. With a win by way of a four-round unanimous decision, Younan improved his unblemished record to 8-0.

Three of Younan’s last four fights have ended in the opening round, including his most recent on Juni 17 on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev 2 undercard at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The Brooklyn bomber made quick work of the Hungarian veteran Zoltan Sera (28-14, 20 KO) bij de 1:39 mark.

“It was an amazing experience for me as a 21-year-old to fight in Vegas on Andre Ward’s card,” Younan added. “Coming off that knockout, I have great momentum and confidence heading into this fight. I can’t wait.”

Promoters Team Up to Present World-Class Night of Boxing in Guadalajara, Mexico, februari 11

Op Zaterdag, Februari 11, at Jalisco Guadalajara Arena in Guadalajara, Mexico, a trio of well-established promoters, Eddie Reynoso of Clase y Talento Boxeo, Eric Gomez of Golden Boy Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing, will team up to present a night of world-class boxing featuring some of Latin America’s future champions.
The event will be presented in association with and broadcast by RingTV.com and TyC Sports of Argentina for the 25th anniversary of their popular Boxeo De Primera to most of North and South America.
In the explosive 10-round main event, Buenos Aires, Argentina’s undefeated Juan Jose “El Pitbull” Velasco (14-0, 8 KO) will defend his WBA Fedebol Welterweight Championship against once-beaten Fernando “El Cacho” Marin (13-1-3, 9 KO) of Monterrey, Mexico.
In the eight-round super featherweight co-main event, Córdoba, Argentina’s Jose Matias Romero (12-0, 5 KO) will take on Guadalajara’s Bernardo “Benny” Gomez Uribe (18-6, 11 KO).
On the exciting undercard will be a six-round lightweight scrap between Los Mochis, México’s Jairo “Jimmy” Llanes (9-1-1, 8 KO) facing Emmanuel “De Krijger” Valenzuela (4-5, 2 KO) of Ciudad Obregón, Mexico; and eight-round heavyweight battle featuring Guadalajara’s undefeated Filiberto “Chiquilín” Tovar (5-0, 2 KO) taking on Lawrence Elizondo (8-1, 3 KO) of Monterrey, Mexico; een “all Guadalajara” six-round super featherweight bout between Heliodoro Napoles (2-2, 1 KO) and Carlos Mauricio Rochas (1-2).
Five four-round bouts will open the show, featuring super featherweights Alexander Villa (3-0, 3 KO) of Guadalajara and Zapopan, Mexico’s Hugo Barajas (0-2); featherweights Jair Campos (1-0, 1 KO) van Tepic, Nayarit and Guadalajara’s Leonardo Cervantes (1-8); as well as three more “All Guadalajara” match-ups, including junior middleweights Oscar Larios (Pro Debuut) and Juan Carlos González (Pro Debuut); welterweights Walter Loera (1-0, 1 KO) and Angel Fernando Lambarena (0-1); and lightweights Jose Manuel Garcia (1-0, 1 KO) and Luis Guzman (0-1).

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 17) – Golden Boy Promotions naast Eye of the Tiger managementhield een intieme rondetafelgesprek in het MGM Grand in Las Vegas, de recente ondertekening van te bespreken David Lemieux (33-2, 31 KO) Golden Boy Promotions. De indrukwekkende middengewicht mededinger Lemieux, Oprichter en voorzitter van Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya, Toekomstige Hall of Famer en Golden Boy Promotions Partner Bernard Hopkins, Voorzitter van Eye of the Tiger management Camille Estephan, en Senior Vice President van Golden Boy Promotions Eric Gomez waren allemaal aanwezig.
