The 5′ 4″ Williams (12-0, 5 Uitklophoue), fighting out of New Haven (CT), exploded with pin-point accuracy, also displaying his new-found power, dropping Gonzalez 30-8, 26 Uitklophoue), of Nicaragua, three time in the first round. The crafty southpaw finished off his more experienced opponent with a perfectly placed right-left combination, right on the button, for his third and final knockdown. Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waved off the action, not bothering to count, as Gonzalez lay vertical on his back in dire straits.
“I prepared well for this fight and anything can happen when I work hard,” Williams remarked after his third consecutive knockout victory. “I felt his power early with a body shot but I stayed focused.
“I can deal with anybody in my division. I want to fight Lee Selby (IBF featherweight world champion), or any of the world champions, but none will fight me. I really want Gary Russell (WBC champion); Ek is hier, Gary. It’ll be target practice for me.”

“You can’t learn if you don’t go rounds,” Younan correctly noted after the fight. “I’m only going to improve. Guy kept moving forward the entire fight. There were a couple of things that bothered me, but I went eight hard rounds and won. Thank you to Mike Guy for that.”
Former Winthrop College (SC) basketbal speler Jonnie Rice (7-2-1, 4 Uitklophoue), fighting out of Los Angeles, opened the televised broadcast with a convincing six-round unanimous decision over Rodney “King Corso” Hernandez (10-6-2, 2 Uitklophoue), van Fresno (SOOS).
“I thought I did real well against a good opponent,” former power forward Rice said after the fight “He’s an athlete, getting better each fight. He’s not the same fighter he was a year ago. I’m becoming more strategic, working on my jab to get better. Basketball players need good footwork like Chris Paul and Lebron James. I’m working to bring my footwork from basketball to boxing,”
Tuisdorp gunsteling Raul Calderon (1-0) pitched a shutout over Eric Gomez (0-1), winning a four-round unanimous decision (40-36 X 3), in a battle of pro-debuting Californians. In the walkout-fight, Los Angeles featherweight Sergio “El Nino” Quiroz verbeter 4-0 with a four-round unanimous decision over Lupe Arrotyo (2-7).

The 21-year-old Younan (12-0, 9 Uitklophoue), veg uit Brooklyn, takes on former USA California super middleweight champion Mike Guy (9-2-1, 5 Uitklophoue), van Sacramento (SOOS), in the eight-round co-featured event.
“This will be a coming out party for me,” Younan said. “I’m going to go out there and try to make a statement. It’s been a great start to the year – it’s my third fight this year – and I feel like I’m getting better and better each one.”

Fighting under the Roc Nation banner, Younan was a highly-decorated amateur boxer, compiling an outstanding 90-5 rekord. Given his success, Younan elected to turn pro in 2013 as an 18-year-old, rather than wait several years for an opportunity to qualify for the U.S. Olimpiese boksspan.
Younan started boxing competitively as an eight-year-old and, net two years later, The New York Times crowned him a “boxing prodigy”. During his impressive amateur career, he collected several belts, medals and awards, including nine championship performances in the Junior Olympics as well as the Junior Metros, eight in the New York State Silver Gloves, and five more in the Regional Silver Gloves. He was also a four-time National Silver Gloves recipient, three-time Ringside World winner, three-time National PAL, and two-time National Junior Golden Gloves champion. In 2011, he was crowned the National Junior Golden Gloves champion, in addition to being USA Boxing’s No. 1-rated junior boxer in his weight class.

Nagging injuries somewhat curtailed Younan’s development, limiting him to one fight in 2015. Promoters Team Up to Present World-Class Night of Boxing in Guadalajara, Mexiko, Februarie 11

Op Saterdag, Februarie 11, at Jalisco Guadalajara Arena in Guadalajara, Mexiko, a trio of well-established promoters, Eddie Reynoso of Clase y Talento Boxeo, Eric Gomez of Golden Boy Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing, will team up to present a night of world-class boxing featuring some of Latin America’s future champions.
The event will be presented in association with and broadcast by RingTV.com and TyC Sports of Argentina for the 25th anniversary of their popular Boxeo De Primera to most of North and South America.
In the explosive 10-round main event, Buenos Aires, Argentina’s undefeated Juan Jose “El Pitbull” Velasco (14-0, 8 Uitklophoue) will defend his WBA Fedebol Welterweight Championship against once-beaten Fernando “El Cacho” Marin (13-1-3, 9 Uitklophoue) of Monterrey, Mexiko.
In the eight-round super featherweight co-main event, Córdoba, Argentina’s Jose Matias Romero (12-0, 5 Uitklophoue) will take on Guadalajara’s Bernardo “Benny” Gomez Uribe (18-6, 11 Uitklophoue).
