Unbeaten Super-Lightweight Phenom DEVIN “THE DREAM” HANEY Extends On Winning Steak, Talks Future

Las Vegas, NV (September 25, 2017) – Last Friday at the SugarHouse Casino, in Philadelphia, PA, undefeated super-lightweight prospect, 18-year old sensation Devin “The Dream” Haney, ngcono (17-0, 11 Kos) with a unanimous decision victory against Enrique Tinoco (16-5-3, 12 Kos) of Mexico.
Tinoco, known for being a rugged fighter, was no match for Haney as he dominated from start to finish. With the win, Haney, who currently holds the WBC Youth World Lightweight Title, has plans to get right back in the ring. Devin has already fought six times this year.
“My goal is to fight three more times in 2017,” said Devin Haney. “Last year I had nine fights, and I want to stay on that pace to close out the year. The team I have behind me is amazing. My father William and everyone he’s put on the team, their all doing a fantastic job guiding my career. I’m truly blessed to be where I’m at this stage of my life. I’m marching forward with the goal to become a world champion. I’m a hungry fighter, and I won’t be denied.”

Prospect Known as ‘The Future of Boxing’ Appearing Tonight in Philadelphia

Tonight (September 22), at the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, a young prospect being called “the future of boxing” by some important people will have the toughest fight of his career.

Tell me about working with an all-time great like Mike McCallum as your trainer.

I’ve been working with Mike for about three fights and it’s going great. I’ve learned a lot of things from him.

What do you think of your opponent, Enrique Tinoco?

I saw him fight a while back. Watched him live. He looks rugged and put some pressure on his opponent. He comes to fight, but I definitely know what to do with him. I had a lot of experience in the amateurs and have sparred a lot of great pros. I’m ready for whatever he has to bring to the able.

What’s it feel like when someone like Floyd Mayweather calls you the ‘future of the sport?’

Kuyangijabulisa. I worked hard for people to acknowledge me in the sport and compare me to the top fighters in boxing right now. Floyd is like a mentor to me. Both Floyds are. I just want to keep training hard an showing everybody that I really am the future of boxing. I don’t feel any pressure to perform perfectly every time though. I don’t believe in pressure. That’s all in the head. I’m just going to go in there and showcase my skills.
