Fortuna Returns with Impressive KO over Formerly Undefeated Cabrera

En dissabte night in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Sambil Commercial Center in Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, former world super featherweight champion Javier “El Abejón” Fortuna returned to action with an impressive two-round blowout of fellow Dominican Marlyn Cabrera.
In his first fight since a surprise defeat last June to Jason Sosa that cost him his WBA World Super Featherweight Championship, Sort (30-1-1, 22 KOs) dropped Cabrera twice in the second round, eliciting the stoppage. It was Cabrera’s first loss as a professional.
Fortuna’s victory was one of three Sampson Boxing fighters to win Dissabtenit.
Undefeated 21-year-old Dominican super welterweight Jeison “Banana” Rosario (12-0, 9 KOs) destroyed formerly undefeated Carlos Jairo Cruz (ara 17-1, 11 KOs) in two rounds and 22-year-old super featherweight Abraham “Súper” Nova moved his record to 3-0, 2 KOs with a fourth-round knockout over Willy Morillo.
Fortuna looked sharp in his comeback bout, putting the explosive power and speed that makes him one of the most exciting fighters in all of boxing. With the victory over Cabrera in the books, the southpaw former champion will now be looking to regain his championship status.
Fortuna’s promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, says his fighter has two options to consider for his next fight.
“Next we will either look for an elimination bout for the IBF mandatory contender to fight Jose Pedraza or we will look to face the winner of Jason Sosa vs. Stephen Smith in Monaco on Novembre 12,” va dir Lewkowicz. “Javier wants to be champion again and he’ll fight anyone to get there.”
Rosario, a recent Sampson Boxing signee to a long-term promotional agreement, is a former amateur standout with a wealth of boxing talent. Cruz stood no chance against the Santo Domingo-based slugger.
“Jeison is a future star and I’m happy to have him in my stable,” seguit Lewkowicz. “I will get him a visa to fight in the USA and pay his IRS taxes, which I do for all my fighters.”
Nova, who was born in Carolina, Port Ric, to Dominican parents, va ser 167-11 amb 60 KOs as an amateur, guanyant el 2014 USA Nationals, la 2014 Independent World Cup in the Dominican, Gold at the 2014 Cheo Aponte Tournament, i la 2015 Olympic Qualifiers. He is also a five-time New York Golden Gloves Champion.
“Abraham went some good rounds and got the KO over a veteran with more fights,” va dir Lewkowicz. “I am happy with his performance and with the improvements he continues to show in every fight. He is a strong prospect with a bright future.”

The comeback of one of boxing’s most exciting fighters, former WBA World Super Featherweight Champion Javier “El Abejón” Sort, will begin on Divendres, Setembre 23, 2016.
Sort (29-1-1, 21 KOs) of Braintree, Massachusetts, via La Romana, República Dominicana, will take on fellow Dominican Marlyn “Meravella” Cabrera (22-0, 10 KOs) of Santiago de los Caballeros in a 10-round super featherweight battle to top promoters Sampson Lewkowicz’s (Sampson Boxing) and Cesar Mercedes’ (Manguita Promotions) night of world-class boxing at the Sambil Ballroom in Sambil Plaza in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and live on Dominican TV RNN.
27-year-old southpaw Fortuna won the WBA World Super Featherweight Championship in May 2015 with a 12-round decision over Bryan Vasquez and made a successful defense in September 2015 against Carlos Ivan Velasquez (QUI 10). But then in June of this year, Fortuna suffered a surprise TKO 11 defeat at the Capital Gym in Beijing, Xina, to unheralded challenger Jason Sosa of New Jersey. Winning fairly easily on all three scorecards, a tiring Fortuna was surprised and dropped by a spirited late-fight rally.
Undefeated and untested 29-year-old Cabrera will be coming to the ring with pulling off an upset on his mind. In his six-year professional career, he has already held the WBA Fedecaribe and Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) Inter­Continental Featherweight Championships.
“No puc esperar per tornar al ring,” va dir Fortuna. “I lost my championship and I’m going to beat whoever I have to beat to get it back. Cabrera is my countryman and I wish him a long successful career, but right now he is in my way. He has to go.”
Someone’s undefeated “0” must go in the 10-round “All Dominican” junior middleweight co-main event, as Jeison “Banana” Rosario (11-0, 8 KOs) of Santo Domingo will take on Santiago de los Caballeros’ Carlos Jairo Cruz (17-0, 11 KOs).
Rosario was last seen destroying then-undefeated countryman Rafael Lorenzo in two rounds in April. Cruz will be making his first ring appearance this year.
In two other significant match-ups, 25-year-old southpaw Wellington Arias Romero (11-0-1, 5 KOs), de Newburgh, Nova York, USA via Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, will face 26-year-old Abrahan “El Indomable” Peralta (18-4, 13 KOs) of Nagua, República Dominicana, in an eight-round super lightweight battle; and in an eight-round “All Dominican” lightweight showdown, undefeated Osvaldo Cabrera (11-0-1, 6 KOs) will take on power-punching Ramon De la Cruz (8-2-1, 7 KOs).
In the opening super featherweight four-rounder, future star Abraham “Súper” Nova (2-0, 1 KO) of Braintree, Massachusetts, will look to continue his undefeated run in the professionals against Willy Morillo (2-2, 1 KO) de la República Dominicana.

DOMINICAN KO ARTIST GUZMAN READY FOR FIRST WORLD TITLE SHOT

FIB #2 super bantamweight contender Jonathan “Salomon Rei” Guzmán (21-0, 21 KOs) is hard at work preparing for the “fight of his life” with trainer Hector Bermudez at Peter Welch’s Gym in Boston.
The 26-year-old KO artist from Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, will face IBF #1 contender Shingo Wake (20-4-2, 12 KOs) a Dimecres, Juliol 20, at EDION Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japó, for the vacant IBF World super bantamweight title.
Guzmán, who stopped Mexico’s tough Daniel Rosas in eighth round on Abril 29 to earn this fight, says his dreams are so close to coming true he can almost taste them. “I have waited my whole life for a world title fight and now it’s almost here,” said Guzman. “I can’t wait to get in the ring and win for my family and my country.”
Trainer Bermudez says Guzman has too many weapons to fall short in this fight. “Although Jonathan has never had to go the distance because his power is amazing, he can also box very well. He’s just never had to thus far in his career. Jonathan is the complete package and soon the world will be learning all about him. There is no way that Wake can beat him.”

La setmana de Dissabte, Agost 8, a Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel de Montevideo, Uruguai, promotor Sampson Lewkowicz posarà en escena “Las Vegas al Radisson,” una històrica primera per a la boxa, la combinació d'un espectacle de boxa de classe mundial que Dissabte nit amb un torneig de poker internacional de quatre dies.

 

En l'esdeveniment principal de la sèrie de boxa, campió del món i l'heroi local Cecília antics de la dona “La Reina” Comunals de Paysandú, Uruguai (12-1, 8 KOs), pujarà de pes per primera vegada per anar 10 rondes amb Lina Miracles Tejada (10-2, 8 KOs) de la República Dominicana per al Super Campionat Internacional de la Dona del CMB pes lleuger.

 

Baralla principal suport a la nit és una molt especial “Tota la ciutat de Panamà” ajust de comptes de quatre anys en la fabricació, com pes súper gall Rafael “El Torito” Concepció (18-7-1, 8 KOs) de la Ciutat de Panamà, Panamà, desafiarà comebacking ex múltiple campió mundial Roberto “La Arana” Vásquez (32-6-2, 22 KOs), també de la Ciutat de Panamà.

 

I en una tercera baralla destacat molt especial, Braulio “El Chavo” Rodríguez (17-1, 16 KOs) de la Romana, República Dominicana, s'enfrontarà a Entre Ríos, Marcs de Argentina “Maquineta” Martínez (17-2, 5 KOs) en un 10 assalts pel campionat de pes ploma del CMB súper Llatí.

 

Tres combats preliminars més emocionants també es duran a terme, un dels quals comptarà amb panamenya contendent de pes welter Azael “Turbo” Cosio (19-3-2, 16 KOs). Els altres aparellaments i l'oponent de Cosio són TBA.

 

El costat de pòquer d'aquesta doble jornada única d'esports de l'casino començarà el Dijous, Agost 6, i està sent organitzada per l'Organització CAM Poker. En dissabte nit, el atiador acabarà a 7 pm i l'espectacle de boxa començarà a les 9 pm. Les finals del torneig de poker es duran a terme diumenge.

En Dissabte, Febrer 21, M / V Promocions d'energia i fresca Boxa estarà presentant l'esdeveniment de boxa anunciat com "Rodríguez vs. Hinojosa ', que tindrà lloc al Francisco 'Pancho' Deida’ Coliseum of Hatillo , Puerto Rico a partir de les 7:00 pm.

En la baralla principal, OMB titular de pes gall Llatí, Emmanuel Rodríguez ( 10-0, 6 Nocauts ) of Baix Segura, Port Ric, defensarà el seu títol contra provats en combat ex aspirant al títol mundial, i el corrent nominal #10 per l'Associació Mundial de Boxa (AMB), Luis Hinojosa (26-8, 16 Nocauts) de la República Dominicana en un xoc programat a 10 assalts.

Al començament de la seva carrera en la boxa professional, 28-anys Hinojosa només tenia una victòria en vuit baralles. La seva setena derrota va ser contra l'actual campió del món, Joan Carles Payano in 2010. Des de llavors, el rejovenit Hinojosa va fer una ratxa de 25 baralles. Durant aquest camí, va ser coronat com el campió de l'AMB Fedecaribe i més tard, capturar el cinturó de l'AMB Fedelatin.

A l'agost 2014, el veterà dominicà va anar a Veneçuela per la baralla més important de la seva carrera contra localista, Yonfrez Parejo pel títol de pes gall de l'AMB interí Mundial. Parejo va derrotar Hinojosa per nocaut tècnic en l'onzè assalt en una baralla tancada i emocionant.

Mentrestant, Emmanuel 'The Sensational’ Rodríguez, Qualificació #9 per l'OMB, i actual Campió Llatí de l'OMB, anotar una impressionant primera ronda de KO victòria sobre el dues vegades Campió Nacional dels EUA, Miguel 'No Fear’ Cartagena l'octubre passat, 2014. Una altra victòria notable per Rodríguez va ser al desembre 2013, en contra de la molt dura ex contendent de títol mundial, David Quijano, qui va perdre per decisió unànime d'ample.

La baralla co-estel·lar serà un duel de pesos lleugers invictes entre Juvenal 'Gringo’ Ramos (2-0, 2 Nocauts) de Morovis, and Miguel Caní (4-0, 2 Nocauts) d'Daurat en un 6 assalts.

Pel que s'espera que sigui una altra baralla emocionant, Jesus 'Chiquito’ Soler (6-1, 3 Nocauts) i Gustavo Ortiz (1-2) es veuran les cares per tercera vegada per determinar el guanyador de la seva trilogia.
