Granite Chin Promotion presents Thanksgiving Eve show “Championship Boxing at The Armory”

QUINCY, Masă. (Noiembrie 19, 2018) – A major change has been made to this Wednesday night’s (Noiembrie. 21) “Championship Boxing at The Armory” card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions (GCP) on Thanksgiving Eve, at the National Guard Armory (70 Victory Road) in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
The originally scheduled headliner, three-time world title challenger Aleksandra Magziak Lopes (18-4-3, 1 KO), withdrew when she accepted a world title shot Dec. 8 în Carson, California, against undisputed World welterweight champion Cecelia “Prima Doamna” Braekhus (34-0, 9 KO) in the main event on HBO.
Many of New England’s most talented and popular boxers will still be in action this Wednesday evening. GCP co-promoter Chris Traietti (26-4, 21 KO), fighting out of Quincy (MA), will defend his New England cruiserweight title against challenger Nick Lavin (5-9, 4 KO), of Shelton (CT), in the new eight-round main event.
The 33-year-old Traietti, an Iraq War veteran and college graduate, defeated the heavy-handed Lavin by way of an eight-round unanimous decision August 5, 2017 for the N.E. titlu.
“As disheartening as it was to lose Aleks on this show,” Traietti said, “we are thrilled she’s getting a career defining opportunity on HBO. She’s worked hard for the opportunity and we wish her the best of luck December 8th.
“We shuffled some of the bouts around and moved my fight to the main event. Ultima dată când am luptat, Nick showed up and gave me eight tough rounds. I have no doubt he’s going to deliver a similar performance. Global, we are excited about this card as it features a mix of local veterans and prospects. “We are excited to be running once again on Thanksgiving Eve,” said GCP co-promoter Chris Traietti, who will also be fighting on this card. “Throughout the last few years, Granite Chin has been trying to make it a Thanksgiving tradition to bring local boxing to the area as a fun way to get people together.”
The wildly popular Lopes (18-4-3, 1 KO), fighting out of Marshfield, MA, is a native of Poland. She hasn’t fought since last December due to injuries suffered in a car accident. Lopes will face
Missouri welterweight Ashleigh Curry (7-11-4, 1 KO) in the six-round main event.
Former N.E. campion semimijlocie Derek “The Surgeon” Silveira (14-2, 7 KO), fighting out of Salem, MA, takes on Mexican veteran Franciso “El Mono” Medel (12-15, 8 KO) in the six-round co-featured event.

DERRY, N.H. (Aprilie 8, 2018) — The official weigh in was held today for tomorrow (Sâmbătă) evening’s “Fight Night at the Zone,” presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at The Sportszone in Derry, New Hampshire.
În evenimentul principal, Dorchester, MA Mijlocie Junior Gabriel Duluc (12-3, 3 KO) used a vicious body attack to stop veteran Texas fighter Larry “Slomoshun” Fierar în a cincea rundă. New England cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti (26-4, 21 KO), also the co-promoter, pounded “Jammin” James Morrow (12-23-3, 5 KO) from pillar to post until referee Leo Gerstel halted the action in their non-title fight for a third-round technical knockout.
Irish junior welterweight Paddy McGee, fighting out of Dorchester, MA, landed only two punches in his pro debut, both flooring Bardraiel Smith (0-4), for a quick first-round knockout.
Stoughton, MA greutate welter Travis “Haiducul” Demko (6-1, 1 KO) outclassed Paul DeSouza (0-11), of Somerville, pitching a six-round shutout decision.

QUINCY, Masă. (Aprilie 2, 2018) — This Saturday night’s “Fight Night at The Zone”, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, has been strengthened by the late addition of hot prospect Irvin Gonzalez to a card already showcasing some of the best young, professional boxers in New England.
Granite Chin Promotions is on a mission to establish a fan-base in the Granite State, providing a fan friendly, full entertainment experience at The Sports Zone in Derry, New Hampshire.
Gonzalez (8-0, 7 KO), fighting out of Worcester, MA, a fost o 2015 New England de Aur Mănuși campion, who qualified for the 2016 Procesele Olimpice. The 21-year-old featherweight prospect will face Mexican Francisco “El Mono” Medal (12-12, 8 KO) într-un meci de șase rundă.

“We are happy to have Irvin on our show,” co-promoter Chuck Shearns a spus. “His last fight fell out and we are always happy to help local fighters, especially someone of Irvin’s caliber. We have five undefeated fighters on this show. They’re legitimate prospects with a lot of upside. Irvin, Richie and Omar are starting to get national attention and New Hampshire fans are getting an early look at them. The veteran fighters on this show have a lot to fight for as well. ”

QUINCY, Masă. (August 6, 2017) – Former New England welterweight champion Derek “The Surgeon” Silveira defeated former world title challenger Michael “Sange rece” Clark last night (Sat., August. 5) în “Fight Night at the Bay” main event, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Silveira (12-1, 6 KO), of Salem MA) used his height and length advantage to out-box the much more experienced Clark (44-16-1, 18 KO). Due to what appeared to be a broken right hand, Clark was unable to continue after six rounds.
După lupta, Silveira got done on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley Myers. (She accepted).
“I want to thank Michael Clark,” Silveria commented. “My buddy Martin passed away and this fight was for him. We’re back and can go as long as needed because I’m in better shape. I’m a smart fighter and I can counter guys. I hope to be back fighting Septembrie 30in Boston.”

“It’s tough to judge,” said the Polish native who lives in nearby Marshfield (MA) regarding her position for another world title shot opportunity. “Așa sper. I respect her but I felt that I should implement my sharper skills. She fought hard and came at me. I thought she’d go flat in the later rounds but she didn’t.
“I’m always tough on myself, Wayne (Lopes, her trainer and husband) was happy. I feel that I should have taken it to her more and I got caught up in clinches too much. The heat was difficult, I felt heated before the fight. I was more tired than usual and I let her come in winging wild punches.”

Iraq War veteran and Quincy’s favorite son, Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 KO), who is also co-promoter of “Fight Night at the Bay”, pounded Nick Lavin (5-6, 4 KO) from the opening bell to capture the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship by way of a decisive eight-round unanimous decision. Traietti teed-off on the over-matched Lavin for most of the fight, but his tough Connecticut opponent lasted to the very end.
S.U.A.. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (8-0, 7 KO) a rămas neînvins, registering three knockdowns against his Floridian opponent, grea lumină “Bani” Mike Sawyer (7-9, 5 KO), în al doilea tur, as referee Mike Ryan called the fight off right before the bell. \ In an entertaining fight from start to finish, Whitman (MA) semimijlocie Mike “Bad Man” O’Han, Jr. (1-0) made his retired fighter father proud, defeating a game Daniel Amaro(0-2-1) by way of a four-round unanimous decision. O’Han, Jr. decked Amaro twice in the first round via perfectly placed left hooks but Amaro persevered and went the full distance.
Undefeated Irish junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (4-0, 3 KO), fighting at home in Quincy, methodically broke-down Demetrius Thomas (0-5), dropping him with a right hand in the second round, and floored him with a flurry of punches en route to a third-round stoppage only moments later by referee Ryan.
Two-time Ecuador Olympian Carlos Gongora (9-0, 8 KO), lupta din Brooklyn (NY), thoroughly outclassed Texas journeyman Larry “Slow Motion” Fierar (10-34-1, 7 KO)by way of a fifth-round technical knockout. Gongora, a powerful southpaw promoted by Murphy’s Boxing, started the fight firing crisp combinations to the head and body of Smith, who took a knee for an eight-count in the opening round. The action slowed through the second and third frames, but Gongora picked up the pace in the fourth, as Smith took a knee again and survived another round. The undefeated Ecuadorian middleweight closed the snow in the fifth as referee Steve Clark halted the one-sided bout.
