Granite Chin Promotion presents Thanksgiving Eve show “Championship Boxing at The Armory”

QUINCY, Mass. (November 19, 2018) – A major change has been made to this Wednesday night’s (November. 21) “Championship Boxing at The Armory” kaart, aangebied deur graniet Chin Promotions (GCP) on Thanksgiving Eve, at the National Guard Armory (70 Victory Road) in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
The originally scheduled headliner, three-time world title challenger Aleksandra Magziak Lopes (18-4-3, 1 KO), withdrew when she accepted a world title shot Dec. 8 in Carson, Kalifornië, against undisputed World welterweight champion Cecelia “First Lady” Braekhus (34-0, 9 Uitklophoue) in the main event on HBO.
Many of New England’s most talented and popular boxers will still be in action this Wednesday evening. GCP medepromotor Chris Traietti (26-4, 21 Uitklophoue), veg uit Quincy (MA), will defend his New England cruiserweight title against challenger Nick Lavin (5-9, 4 Uitklophoue), of Shelton (CT), in the new eight-round main event.
The 33-year-old Traietti, an Iraq War veteran and college graduate, defeated the heavy-handed Lavin by way of an eight-round unanimous decision August 5, 2017 for the N.E. titel.
“As disheartening as it was to lose Aleks on this show,” Traietti said, “we are thrilled she’s getting a career defining opportunity on HBO. She’s worked hard for the opportunity and we wish her the best of luck December 8th.

QUINCY, Mass. (November 1, 2018) — The return of three-time world challenger Aleksandra Lopes wil kop “Championship Boxing at The Armory,” aangebied deur graniet Chin Promotions (GCP), Thanksgiving Eve (Woensdag, November. 21), at the National Guard Armory (70 Victory Road) in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

“We are excited to be running once again on Thanksgiving Eve,” said GCP co-promoter Chris Traietti, who will also be fighting on this card. “Throughout the last few years, Granite Chin has been trying to make it a Thanksgiving tradition to bring local boxing to the area as a fun way to get people together.”
The wildly popular Lopes (18-4-3, 1 KO), fighting out of Marshfield, MA, is a native of Poland. She hasn’t fought since last December due to injuries suffered in a car accident. Lopes will face
Missouri welterweight Ashleigh Curry (7-11-4, 1 KO) in the six-round main event.

QUINCY, Mass. (Augustus 6, 2017) – Former New England welterweight champion Derek “die chirurg” Silveira defeated former world title challenger Michael “Koelbloedig” Clark gisteraand (Sat., Augustus. 5) in die “Fight Night at the Bay” hoofren, aangebied deur graniet Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Silveira (12-1, 6 Uitklophoue), of Salem MA) used his height and length advantage to out-box the much more experienced Clark (44-16-1, 18 Uitklophoue). Due to what appeared to be a broken right hand, Clark was unable to continue after six rounds.

“I want to thank Michael Clark,” Silveria commented. “My buddy Martin passed away and this fight was for him. We’re back and can go as long as needed because I’m in better shape. I’m a smart fighter and I can counter guys. I hope to be back fighting September 30in Boston.”

“I’m always tough on myself, Wayne (Lopes, her trainer and husband) was happy. I feel that I should have taken it to her more and I got caught up in clinches too much. The heat was difficult, I felt heated before the fight. I was more tired than usual and I let her come in winging wild punches.”

Iraq War veteran and Quincy’s favorite son, Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 Uitklophoue), who is also co-promoter of “Fight Night at the Bay”, gehamer Nick Lavin (5-6, 4 Uitklophoue) from the opening bell to capture the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship by way of a decisive eight-round unanimous decision. Traietti teed-off on the over-matched Lavin for most of the fight, but his tough Connecticut opponent lasted to the very end.
U.S. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (8-0, 7 Uitklophoue) gebly onoorwonne, registering three knockdowns against his Floridian opponent, lig swaargewig “Geld” Mike Sawyer (7-9, 5 Uitklophoue), in die tweede ronde, as referee Mike Ryan called the fight off right before the bell. Montella first put down Sawyer with a body shot, followed that with a straight right to the face, and Sawyer took a knee for his third trip to the canvas,

O’Han, Jr. decked Amaro twice in the first round via perfectly placed left hooks but Amaro persevered and went the full distance.
Undefeated Irish junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (4-0, 3 Uitklophoue), fighting at home in Quincy, methodically broke-down Demetrius Thomas (0-5), dropping him with a right hand in the second round, and floored him with a flurry of punches en route to a third-round stoppage only moments later by referee Ryan.
Two-time Ecuador Olympian Carlos Gongora (9-0, 8 Uitklophoue), veg uit Brooklyn (NY), thoroughly outclassed Texas journeyman Larry “Slow Motion” Smith (10-34-1, 7 Uitklophoue)by way of a fifth-round technical knockout. Gongora, a powerful southpaw promoted by Murphy’s Boxing, started the fight firing crisp combinations to the head and body of Smith, who took a knee for an eight-count in the opening round. The action slowed through the second and third frames, but Gongora picked up the pace in the fourth, as Smith took a knee again and survived another round. The undefeated Ecuadorian middleweight closed the snow in the fifth as referee Steve Clark halted the one-sided bout.
