NEF 26 MMA CARD FEATURES WOMEN’S FIGHTS, TITLE FIGHTS, RETURNS, DEBUTS AND MORE

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 21, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presenteert zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts-evenement, “NEF 26: SUPREMATIE,” op zaterdag, November 19 op de Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Eerder vandaag, NEF executives announced the full fight card for the event which will be the fight promotion’s grand finale for 2016.

 

In het main event, “De” Ryan Sanders (10-8) ontmoet Jon Lemke (5-6) in a professional lightweight bout. It will be Sanders’ first fight in Lewiston since November 2014. Much has been made of the fact that Sanders and Lemke are former teammates. The bout is considered a “dream match” by Maine fight fans, especially those from the Bangor-area familiar with the rivalry between Sanders’ camp Young’s MMA and Lemke’s camp Team Irish.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature an interesting “coach vs. coach” strijd. “Onbreekbaar 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7), head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, is scheduled to face Ruthless MMA & Boxing founder Josh Parker (4-8) in a professional featherweight contest. Shorey is coming off a big win in Rhode Island earlier this fall, while Parker will be returning to the MMA cage after spending the last three years competing as a boxer.

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be undefeated prospect Aaron “Meedogenloos” Lacey (3-0) en Taylor Trahan (6-6) in een vedergewicht wedstrijd. Lacey and Trahan both submitted their respective opponents at “NEF 25” vorige maand. Many local followers of the sport feel that Lacey is just a handful of wins away from getting the call to the major league of the sport. The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Nick “The Guardian” Gulliver (3-0) en Quilt DeCastro (2-2). DeCastro stepped up to the plate to face Gulliver when no other heavyweight in the region would do so. Gulliver has been on a path of destruction, ripping through three opponents in a combined two minutes.

 

Two women’s fights are on tap for “NEF 26.” Jessica “De zwarte weduwe” pay (2-2) returns from Florida to meet Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Brianne Genschel (0-0). Genschel’s First Class MMA teammate “Hollywood” Hannah Sparrell (1-1) will also be in action against Fernanda Araujo (4-4-2).

 

Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner’s The Academy in Portland, Maine will send two new fighters to the cage at “NEF 26.” Chad Pierce (0-0) will debut against Shatterproof’s Lyman Curtis (0-0), terwijl Phil Chiasson (0-0) voldoet aan Rik Seymour (0-0) of 3Ronin Athletics. SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 4, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) presenteert zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts-evenement, “NEF 26: SUPREMATIE,” op zaterdag, November 19 op de Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

 

“I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” Said Parker. “Ik ben opgewonden om terug te krijgen in de kooi. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fight – don’t miss it!”

 

Derek Shorey, founder of the Shatterproof Combat Club at the Outlet in Dexter, Maine, is coming off a huge win in Rhode Island just over a week ago. It was the spark Shorey had been looking for after dropping his last four in a row in the NEF cage. Admittedly, Shorey is filled with both fear and excitement coming into the fight with Parker.

 

“This is a fight that has scared the crap out of me in the past,” declared Shorey. “Hij is een grote, strong 145er that has good movement and boxing. Standing and trading could end horribly for either of us. His strength may be enough to keep my slams in check and I’m not a jits expert, so he can probably power out of whatever I throw at him. It’s a puzzle I’m both excited and terrified to tackle.”

PROFESSIONAL FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT ADDED TO NEF MMA CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Augustus 26, 2016) -nieuwe Engeland Fights (NEF) today announced the addition of a professional featherweight mixed-martial-arts (MMA) bout to the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 25: HEROES & VILLAINS.” Aaron “Meedogenloos” Lacey (2-0) heeft om het gezicht getekend Cory Trial (0-0) at the featherweight limit of 145-pounds.

 

Lacey, the former NEF MMA Amateur Featherweight Champion, recently signed a multi-fight developmental deal with the fight promotion. He amassed an amateur record of 6-1 prior to turning professional. Since entering the pro ranks, Lacey is undefeated. His pro debut saw him submit veteran Derek Shorey (3-7) in the first round last April. Earlier this month, Lacey waged, en won, a war with John Santos (3-4) before UFC President Dana White in Bangor at the “NEF Presents Dana White: Kijk in’ for a Fight” taping. Many observers agree that Lacey, a product of Young’s MMA, is but a few victories away from fighting permanently in front of White.

 

“I’m very happy to be signing with NEF,” said Lacey. “It’s a big step forward in my career and it shows that they have the utmost confidence in my ability! My last fight was an absolute war, but I was fortunate enough to get out of it without any serious injuries. If I’m healthy, I’m fighting–it’s my passion! Cory Trial makes his professional debut after a memorable amateur career with NEF. In juni 2015, Trial scored the fastest knockout in NEF history when he rocked Corey Hinkley (2-4) a mere seven-seconds into the first round. In his final amateur performance, the 41-year-old Trial defeated Angelo Rizzitello (0-1) via split decision this past spring. He is a member of the tough, gritty team of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based out of Benton, Maine.

 

“I wanna thank NEF for giving me the opportunity to take the next step in my career,” zei Trial. “My coach and I have been talking and it’s time. We’ve been putting the work in and I’m ready to take the next step. This fight will really tell me where I’m at. Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mei 15, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, hield zijn meest recente gebeurtenis, “NEF 23: CAGE THE CAPE” op zaterdagavond in het Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC) in Hyannis, Massachusetts. De HYCC was in capaciteit voor de eerste gesanctioneerde mixed-martial-arts (MMA) tonen ooit op Cape Cod gehouden. Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mei 11, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF 23: CAGE THE CAPE” dit Zaterdag, Mei 14, 2016 at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The event will be the first sanctioned mixed-martial-arts (MMA) tonen ooit op Cape Cod gehouden. Eerder vandaag, the promotion announced that it would conduct the event weigh-in this Vrijdag, Mei 13, 2016, bij 5:00 pm EDT at Red Face Jack’s Pub. Red Face Jack’s Pub is located at 585 Main Street in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

 

Weigh-ins are open to the public. All of the fighters competing on Saturday night will be at the weigh-in, Inclusief headliners Brendan “vergrendelen” Battles (0-0) en Mike “De Snor” Hansen. NEF CAGES THE CAPE ON MAY 14 WITH THRILLING FIGHT CARD

Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mei 6, 2016) – It will be no day at the beach, but they might just leave some blood on the sand. New England Fights (NEF) plans to storm Cape Cod on Zaterdag, Mei 14, 2016 with the first-ever mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event to be held on the popular tourist destination. The northeast’s top regional fight promotion will pack up its cage in one week and make the 200-mile trek south from NEF’s base of operations in Lewiston, Maine to the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC).

 

The attention the event has received has been staggering. “The Cape Cod community has welcomed us with open arms,” zei NEF mede-eigenaar en promotor Nick Di Salvo. “The HYCC is a great venue with an awesome staff. Patti Lloyd at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce has been a huge help in making this event happen as well. And we have some fantastic new sponsors on the Cape like Bodystrong Fitness who have helped us spread the word.”

 

Inderdaad, the word has spread and ticket sales have been so strong, and demand so overwhelming, that the promotion had to order more chairs and tickets when cageside inventory sold out last week. “The fans were asking us to add some more cageside seats, so we happily accommodated them,” noted DiSalvo.

 

And fight fans in attendance will be treated to a night filled with wild cage action. The card is stacked with world class wrestlers and martial artists from Maine, Cape Cod and Massachusetts’ South Shore. Hyannis-based Team Juniko will be prominently featured in no less than six of the evening’s bouts.

 

Brendan “vergrendelen” Battles (0-0) of Juniko is scheduled to make his professional MMA debut in the heavyweight main event, locking horns with Mike “De Snor” Hansen (4-3). Battles was a three-time All American wrestler out of nearby Nauset Regional High School where he won two state championships and three New England championships. Hij was 2-0 as an amateur MMA fighter. Hansen has a wrestling pedigree of his own, having captured a state title for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. Hansen is a ten-year-plus veteran of the MMA cage.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature a rematch from “NEF 15” in november 2014. “Onbreekbaar 2.0” Derek Shorey (3-6) will look to avenge a loss to Mat “Ken Doll” Denning (2-2). Shorey’s supporters have claimed for the past year-and-a-half that Denning’s submission victory was a fluke and that Denning would not be able to defeat Shorey a second time should the pair ever meet again. Those claims will be put to the test in Hyannis in this lightweight rematch.

 

“It was a short notice fight that NEF asked for, and I know Derek wanted a rematch,” zei Denning. “After I beat him again, I’ll prove it wasn’t a fluke. I wanted this fight so I could get some new fans in Massachusetts and show my skills. I have had two losses in a row to great guys and want to get back in the win column.”

 

“I thought I could beat him the first time, and he caught me with an armbar,” Shorey admitted. “This time I will leave that cage the victor.”

 

“It’s one of those fights we always get asked whether there will be a rematch,” NEF verklaarde mede-eigenaar en matchmaker Matt Peterson. “This will finally prove, once and for all, whether Matt Denning got lucky coming up with that armbar that night. The bout will be Redman’s professional debut after six amateur fights with NEF in Maine. Boutin is a prolific striker based out of the Choi Institute in Portland. The fight will take place at the middleweight limit of 185-pounds.

 

The amateur headliner will see Dustin Veinott (4-4) in a flyweight showdown with Ryan “Razzle Dazzle” Kane (4-3). Veinott is the former NEF MMA Amateur Flyweight Champion. He dropped the title in a very close split decision loss to Ryan Burgess (2-0) last November. Kane, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a member of Team Juniko and an accomplished competitor in the ancient Greek martial art of Pankration.

 

A women’s fight will be prominently featured on the amateur card. Angela Young (1-1) is gepland te staan Kylie O'Hearn (0-0). Young is coming off a big win just two weeks ago against Hannah Sparrell (1-1) bij “NEF 22” in Lewiston. O’Hearn, another product of Plymouth, Massachusetts and Team Juniko, will be making her amateur MMA debut. The fight will take place at the bantamweight limit of 135-pounds.

 

Young's teamgenoot Victor Irwin (1-0) will make the five-hour road trip along with her from Bangor, Maine to compete in Hyannis. Irwin will square off with newcomer Tracey Schryba (0-0) in the amateur light-heavyweight division.

 

Brewster’s ed Forlenza (0-0) makes his amateur debut against Frank Johanson (0-1) in a 160-pound catchweight bout. Forlenza is a 2004 graduate of Nauset Regional High School where he was a standout on the wrestling team. Johanson’s opponent pulled out of their bout on fight day two weeks ago at “NEF 22.” Not one to let a good fight camp go to waste, Johanson agreed to take the fight with Forlenza in Hyannis.

 

In another 160-pound catchweight bout, Steve Bang (3-4) neemt Fabian Miranda (2-0). Bang is a member of the famous father-sons fighting family of Auburn, Maine. Miranda represents Team Juniko and will look to add to his undefeated record in the fight with Bang.

 

Rounding out the fight card is a 190-pound catchweight bout featuring Anthony Spires (0-1) en Thomas Lee Davis (1-0). Spires, an independent fighter from Maine, hopes to rebound from a loss in his debut last fall at “NEF XX.” Davis is a member of Team Juniko.

NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT NEF 22 In Lewiston

Lewiston, Maine (April 23, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, hield zijn meest recente gebeurtenis, “NEF 22: Alle wegen leiden HIER,” Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Meer dan 3,000 fight fans were on hand for the event, making it one of the largest crowds ever to witness an NEF event.

 

On the boxing portion of the card, Brandon “De Cannon” Bes (11-1-1) fought to a majority draw in a six-round contest with James Lester (10-9-1). Many of Berry’s supporters in attendance felt that he won the fight, but two of the judges had it even on the scorecards.

Boyington and Lemke battled back-and-forth for five brutal rounds in what many in attendance were calling one of the best fights in NEF history.

 

In the boxing headliner, Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “De Cannon” Bes (11-1) handed Tollison Lewis the first loss of his professional boxing career (2-1) with a second-round stoppage via technical knockout (WHO).

 

On the amateur MMA portion of the card, three inaugural champions were crowned. Ryan Glover (3-1) took home the light heavyweight title after defeating Mike Williams (1-1), while Johnny Crafts (4-0) captured the bantamweight strap and Ricky Dexter (5-2) won the welterweight championship.

 

NEF also announced that its next event would take place on April 23, 2016, once again at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston.
