BOUTIN IS BACK AND GARDNER TURNS PRO AT NEF 35 IN BANGOR

Bangor, Maine (Augustus 20, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) zal zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts-evenement houden, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” Op september 8 bij het Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Mark Gardner has had a stellar first year with NEF. NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED, MAIN EVENT THRILLS AS NEF 31 SELLS OUT AURA FOR PORTLAND DEBUT

The ever-popular John “Eerste Klas” Straal (3-8) returned to the NEF cage after a three-year retirement. Raio faced a game Zenon Herrera (0-6) and came out with the win in the third round when Herrera tapped out to a guillotine choke.

Hilarie Rose (5-3) made history as the first women’s champion in promotion history by capturing the strawweight title against Alex Walker (4-2).

Two milestones were set early in the night as Jayda Bailey (1-0) became the youngest fighter to ever emerge victorious in the NEF cage, while Garry Carr (1-0) took the honor of the oldest fighter to ever win in the NEF cage. Bailey turned 18 just eight days prior to the event. Carr is 56 years young.

In addition to an evening of fights, fans were able to meet special guest Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (24-5). Souza is currently the number-four ranked middleweight in the UFC.

Portland, Maine (Oktober 6, 2017) - New England Fights (NEF) will make its long-awaited debut in Portland on Vrijdag, November 3, 2017 at Aura with “NEF 31: The Old Port.” Eerder vandaag, the fight promotion announced the full fight card for the event featuring a full slate of professional and amateur mixed-martial-arts bouts.

Maine fan-favorite Paul Gorman (10-9) is scheduled to take on James “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” Blair (5-1) in the main event of the evening. Gorman, the former NEF bantamweight titleholder and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt out of the Academy in Portland, makes his return to the NEF cage after a three-year absence. Blair is a hot prospect from the world-renowned American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida where he trains alongside a veritable murderers’ row of current and former world champions like Mike Brown (26-9), Tyron Woodley (18-3-1), and Joanna Jędrzejczyk (14-0) om er maar een paar te noemen.

He is the head coach of First Class MMA based in Brunswick, Maine. Herrera, a veteran of both the United States Army and Marine Corps, is looking for his first win since joining the professional ranks two years ago.

The amateur side of the card will feature a total of three title fights. NEF Amateur Heavyweight Champion Nick “The Guardian” Gulliver (4-0) will defend his strap against WWE signeeTerrance Jean-Jacques (2-0), terwijl Nate Boucher (2-0) en Justin Witham (3-4) square off for the vacant flyweight title. Lewiston, Maine (September 10, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF) held its most-recent event, “NEF 25: HEROES & VILLAINS” Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. The event featured both mixed-martial-arts and professional boxing bouts.

 

On the boxing portion of the card, John Webster (9-7-1) verslagen Zenon Herrera (0-3) via unanimous decision on the eve of Webster’s 48th birthday. Webster’s last boxing victory came back in 2004, also in Lewiston, prior to his taking off a decade from active competition.

 

Also in the boxing ring, Casey Kramlich (5-0-1) remained undefeated as he stopped John Ortolani (0-1) in the fourth round via technical knockout. hetzelfde, Brandon Montella (5-0) kept his pro record perfect with a second-round stoppage of Tollison Lewis (2-2).

MAJOR CHANGE TO NEF 25 MMA CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Augustus 30, 2016) – The weight cut is regarded by many fighters as the most difficult part of preparing for a fight. Lewiston, Maine (Mei 19, 2016) – Since long before the dawn of the internet, sports fans have debated the outcome of fantasy meetings between beloved teams and athletes. What would happen if Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali met in their respective prime? Could the ’96 Bulls beat the ’86 Lakers? How would the bats of the ’27 Yankees fare against the starting rotation of the ’98 Braves? In mixed-martial-arts (MMA), presumably because the sport is so young, fantasy matchups are usually separated by weight classes as opposed to time.

 

Such is the case with the professional middleweight bout recently signed by New England Fights (NEF) for the fight promotion’s Juni 18 evenement, “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND,” in Lewiston. Jesse “De Viking” Erickson (6-5) will move up two weight classes to face Crowsneck Boutin (2-2) bij 185-pond. It is a fight that fans of both popular athletes never imagined they would see, and now it is happening.

 

Jesse Erickson was unsuccessful in his attempt to capture the vacant NEF MMA Pro Lightweight Title last month at “NEF22.” The loss to Devin Powell (6-1) put a halt to Erickson’s three-fight win streak. Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mei 11, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF 23: CAGE THE CAPE” dit Zaterdag, Mei 14, 2016 at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The event will be the first sanctioned mixed-martial-arts (MMA) tonen ooit op Cape Cod gehouden. Eerder vandaag, the promotion announced that it would conduct the event weigh-in this Vrijdag, Mei 13, 2016, bij 5:00 pm EDT at Red Face Jack’s Pub. Red Face Jack’s Pub is located at 585 Main Street in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mei 6, 2016) – It will be no day at the beach, but they might just leave some blood on the sand. New England Fights (NEF) plans to storm Cape Cod on Zaterdag, Mei 14, 2016 with the first-ever mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event to be held on the popular tourist destination. The northeast’s top regional fight promotion will pack up its cage in one week and make the 200-mile trek south from NEF’s base of operations in Lewiston, Maine to the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC).

 

The attention the event has received has been staggering. “The Cape Cod community has welcomed us with open arms,” zei NEF mede-eigenaar en promotor Nick Di Salvo. “The HYCC is a great venue with an awesome staff. Patti Lloyd at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce has been a huge help in making this event happen as well. And we have some fantastic new sponsors on the Cape like Bodystrong Fitness who have helped us spread the word.”

The card is stacked with world class wrestlers and martial artists from Maine, Cape Cod and Massachusetts’ South Shore. Hyannis-based Team Juniko will be prominently featured in no less than six of the evening’s bouts.

 

Brendan “vergrendelen” Battles (0-0) of Juniko is scheduled to make his professional MMA debut in the heavyweight main event, locking horns with Mike “De Snor” Hansen (4-3). Battles was a three-time All American wrestler out of nearby Nauset Regional High School where he won two state championships and three New England championships. Hij was 2-0 as an amateur MMA fighter. Hansen has a wrestling pedigree of his own, having captured a state title for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. Hansen is a ten-year-plus veteran of the MMA cage.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature a rematch from “NEF 15” in november 2014. “Onbreekbaar 2.0” Derek Shorey (3-6) will look to avenge a loss to Mat “Ken Doll” Denning (2-2). Shorey’s supporters have claimed for the past year-and-a-half that Denning’s submission victory was a fluke and that Denning would not be able to defeat Shorey a second time should the pair ever meet again. Those claims will be put to the test in Hyannis in this lightweight rematch.

 

“It was a short notice fight that NEF asked for, and I know Derek wanted a rematch,” zei Denning. “After I beat him again, I’ll prove it wasn’t a fluke. I wanted this fight so I could get some new fans in Massachusetts and show my skills. I have had two losses in a row to great guys and want to get back in the win column.”

 

“I thought I could beat him the first time, and he caught me with an armbar,” Shorey admitted. “This time I will leave that cage the victor.”

The fight will take place at the middleweight limit of 185-pounds.

 

The amateur headliner will see Dustin Veinott (4-4) in a flyweight showdown with Ryan “Razzle Dazzle” Kane (4-3). Veinott is the former NEF MMA Amateur Flyweight Champion. He dropped the title in a very close split decision loss to Ryan Burgess (2-0) last November. Kane, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a member of Team Juniko and an accomplished competitor in the ancient Greek martial art of Pankration.

 

A women’s fight will be prominently featured on the amateur card. Angela Young (1-1) is gepland te staan Kylie O'Hearn (0-0). Brewster’s ed Forlenza (0-0) makes his amateur debut against Frank Johanson (0-1) in a 160-pound catchweight bout. Forlenza is a 2004 graduate of Nauset Regional High School where he was a standout on the wrestling team. Johanson’s opponent pulled out of their bout on fight day two weeks ago at “NEF 22.” Not one to let a good fight camp go to waste, Johanson agreed to take the fight with Forlenza in Hyannis.

 

In another 160-pound catchweight bout, Steve Bang (3-4) neemt Fabian Miranda (2-0). Bang is a member of the famous father-sons fighting family of Auburn, Maine. Miranda represents Team Juniko and will look to add to his undefeated record in the fight with Bang.

 

Rounding out the fight card is a 190-pound catchweight bout featuring Anthony Spires (0-1) en Thomas Lee Davis (1-0). Spires, an independent fighter from Maine, hopes to rebound from a loss in his debut last fall at “NEF XX.” Davis is a member of Team Juniko.
