Team Shumenov responds to Lebedev vs. Gassiev world title fight announcement

Team Shumenov petitions WBA to declare purse bid for mandatory title fight vs. Lebedev or strip Lebedev of his world cruiserweight title belt

LAS VEGAS (Bulan Juli 22, 2016) – It has been more than a month since World Boxing Association (WBA) world cruiserweight champion Shumenov Beibu (16-2, 10 Biaya), based on the much publicized WBA Cruiserweight Tournament rules and regulations, petitioned the WBA to either declare a purse bid for a title fight between WBA Super cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev, or strip Lebedev of his title belt for being non-compliant.

If no agreement has been reached, the Championships Committee, with the approval of the President, can call for Purse bid. A boxer may also request a purse bid at any time.
Lebedev’s promoter, Andrei Ryabinsky, has been quoted in stories about having a deal in place for his fighter to defend his IBF title first. In effect, the WBA is allowing Lebedev to hold the WBA Super cruiserweight title belt hostage, leveraging it against his IBF crown. Shumenov, who is a former WBA Super light heavyweight champion, has now proudly worn the WBA belt around his waist for a total of nearly five years.
“I was looking forward to fighting Lebedev and I don’t understand his unwillingness and refusal to step in the ring with me,” Shumenov kata.
Team Shumenov is extremely disappointed in the WBA’s failure to act on making the fight with Lebedev that it mandated, in addition to being discouraged by the WBA’s failure, after several requests had been made, to either set a purse bid date or strip Lebedev of his world title belt. Tinju sarang Kazakhstan telah menghasilkan lima juara dunia lain selama seperempat abad terakhir: 1990 WBC kelas bulu super Aratoly Alexandrov, 2000 WBC kelas berat Oleg “Big O” Maskaev, 2001-2003 – IBF kelas penjelajah Vassily “Harimau Itu” Jirov, 2010-2012 WBA Super menengah Dimitri Sartison dan memerintah WBA super / WBC kelas menengah Interim Gennady Golovkin.

Dalam pertarungan bersejarah tinjunya kembali 2010, Shumenov mengalahkan juara WBA juara kelas berat ringan Gabriel Campillo Viaa 12 ronde untuk menetapkan rekor paling sedikit-perkelahian, 10, untuk menjadi juara dunia dari organisasi besar di divisi 175-pound.

“Saya sangat bangga untuk mengatur catatan lain di tinju,” 2004 Olympian Shumenov kata. “Saya merasa terhormat untuk menjadi pejuang pertama dari negara saya untuk menjadi juara dunia di dua divisi. Shumenov pergi melalui transformasi gaya, di bawah arahan pelatih kepala terkenal Kuba Ismael Salas, yang bekerja dengan atletik Kazakhstan untuk mengubah dirinya dari sebuah agresif, grinding tempur menjadi lebih lengkap, semua-sekitar petinju. Shumenov bingung Flores, yang diharapkan Shumenov datang kepadanya dan pukulan pertukaran, yang akan diberikan secara alami lebih besar, kuat Flores keuntungan. Malah, Shumenov ahlinya kotak jalan untuk kemenangan, menggunakan pergerakan lateral, sudut dan posisi untuk menggagalkan Flores ke agresi tidak efektif, menghasilkan berbagai pukulan off-balance dan merindukan.

Setelah pertarungan, Shumenov menjelaskan perubahan mengejutkan ia melewati setelah pelatihan dengan Salas sejak Januari. “Aku masih dalam proses belajar. Seperti pelatih saya mengatakan, tidak ada batas, dan saya masih belum sempurna apa yang dia mengajariku. Itu benar-benar datang ke banyak kerja keras, pengulangan dari memori otot. Gerak kaki saya untuk laga ini datang dari pelatih saya. Saya senang bisa menang tapi aku masih melihat diri saya mendapatkan jauh lebih baik, secara keseluruhan, sebagai petinju lengkap.”

Salas juga melatih Dewan Tinju Dunia (WBC) Dunia Ringan Juara Jorge Linares (39-3, 26 Biaya), selain menangani juara dunia masa lalu dan sekarang seperti Guillermo Rigondeaux, Yuriokis Gamboa, Danny Hijau, dan Jesse Vargas.

“Ada proses untuk semua orang dalam hal bio-mekanik,” Salas berkomentar. “Ada spesialisasi pelatihan saya mengajar yang sering tidak digunakan dalam tinju, latihan khusus untuk dinamika gerak. Saya awalnya belajar untuk pelatih dalam sistem Kuba, yang mirip dengan sistem Soviet di mana Beibut pertama kali belajar, tapi saya juga sudah seluruh dunia belajar metode yang berbeda dari pelatihan. Ini masih membutuhkan waktu untuk seorang pejuang kelas dunia seperti Beibut, yang telah juara dunia sebagai seorang profesional, dan memiliki banyak pertandingan amatir. Jorge Linares adalah juara dunia dua kali sebelum kita mulai bekerja sama. Beibut semakin ada. Dia masih tidak pada potensi penuh, sekarang juga, hanya menggunakan 40-50 persen dari alat-alatnya.”

Shumenov adalah seorang pengacara dan pengusaha sukses yang berbicara lima bahasa. Meskipun dia seorang juara dunia dua kali, dia masih mahasiswa tinju, dan Salas adalah profesor yang sangat dihormati nya.

“Dia (Salas) sederhana tapi jenius,” Shumenov menegaskan. “Dia meminta dan mendengarkan pendapat saya. Kami berkonsentrasi pada fundamental dan ia menjelaskan segalanya bagiku. Tim kami memiliki rutinitas sehari-hari di kamp di mana kita berbagi pengetahuan kita setelah setiap sesi pelatihan. Empat dari kita (Shumenov, Salas, Grmjoja dan Crisler) menjadi satu.”

 

Dan hasilnya adalah gelar juara dunia kedua.
