CARLTON, MN. (Mei 18, 2016) – Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Murat “Ijzeren” Gassiev (23-0, 17 KO) scored a sensational knockout victory over Jordan Shimmell (20-2, 16 KO) in het main event van Premier Boxing Champions TOE-tot-teen DINSDAG op FS1 en Boksen Champions op FOX DeportesDinsdag night from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN in the Otter Creek Event Center.
Gassiev delivered a powerful left hook that put Shimmell out on the mat and halted the cruiserweight title elimination bout immediately at 2:54 van de eerste ronde. Shimmell was able to move effectively for much of the round and had landed an early combination that got the attention of Gassiev.
The Russian fighter, who now trains in California with Abel Sanchez, was able to start working through the defense of Shimmell with his jab as the round wore on. The final blow came after Gassiev imitated a right hand and delivered the critical left hook while Shimmell was caught counter-punching.
The co-main event of the night saw local favorite Joey “Minnesota Ice” Een bel (32-9, 30 KO) deliver a dominant performance in knocking out previously unbeaten Wes Nofire (19-1, 15 KO) in their heavyweight showdown.
The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 van de derde ronde.

“This is exactly what I planned. I thought I might get him in the first round but I took my time. My punches were sharp. There were times in the past where I felt my timing was off but I’m in great shape so I wasn’t thinking about getting tired.”
WES NOFIRE
“I just didn’t get the shots I was looking for. I thought I was going to be able to back him up more with my jab. He stayed his distance and lunged in from out of range.
“One of the head butts caught me pretty good and I just couldn’t see what he was coming back with.
“The head butts were giving me problems and he followed up on me after them. He was a little stronger than I expected but I’ve been hit hard like that by other fighters.
“Ik ben teleurgesteld. I trained really hard for the fight. I’ve never had a problem taking power before. It’s just one of those things that happens in everybody’s career, but I’ll be back.”

Molina to take on pro debuting Stacey Anderson deze zaterdag in het Econo Lodge in Allentown, PA
Allentown, PA (Februari 17, 2015)–Christian Molina had niet veel van een amateur-achtergrond hebben, maar hij heeft een snelle studie geweest en is uitgegroeid tot een van de top vooruitzichten in de Lehigh Valley.
Deze zaterdag hij zal kijken naar 4-0 wanneer hij op de pro debuterende Stacey Anderson in een 4-ronde Jr. Weltergewicht bout in het Econo Lodge in Allentown, PA en wordt bevorderd door King's Promotions.
In het main event, Frank De Alba zal plaatsvinden op een tegenstander te worden genoemd in een 8-ronde Jr. Lichtgewicht bout.
Molina, 27 jaar van Allentown, PA had net vijf amateur-aanvallen, maar heeft geracet af met een perfecte 3-0 mark met indrukwekkende overwinningen op Dominic Goode, Jordan Morales en Josue Rivera en hij ziet er nu voor een vergelijkbare prestatie tegen Anderson.
“Training heeft grote gegaan. Anderson is a new opponent. All I know is that he has an MMA background,” Said Molina.
“Ik train hard ik de offers om te winnen. I look to box and I look to fight. I just do whatever it takes to fight that opponent.”
De linkshandige heeft reeds opgebouwd een mooie volgende en wil de fans sensatie op zaterdag nacht.
“Ik wil gewoon aan alle fans en vooral de Spaanse fans die uit zal komen en mij steunen bedanken deze zaterdag.”

Juan Dominguez (17-0, 11 KO's) van Brooklyn, NY zal plaatsvinden op een tegenstander te worden genoemd.
Super middengewicht John Magda (8-0, 6 KO's) van Rutherford, NJ zal op J te nemenis Williams (3-4) van West Monroe, LA

Ivan Golub (5-0, 4 KO's) van Brooklyn, NY zal op zich te nemen David Lopez (4-11-3, 1 KO) in een Jr. Middengewicht bout.
Danny Kelly (6-1-1, 5 KO's) Washington, DC zal op zich te nemen Kevin Franklin (6-10, 3 KO's) van in een zwaargewicht gevecht.
In 4-ronde aanvallen:
Robert Irizarry (2-0-1) van Cherry Hill, NJ zullen strijden Benjamin Burgos (2-10-1) van Mount Pocono, PA in een vedergewicht bout. Deze bout is een rematch van een bout van mei waar Irizarry won een unaniem besluit.
Christopher Booker van Philadelphia zal zijn pro debuut maken tegen Andrew Sosa(0-4-1) van Farmers Branch, TX i in een middengewicht wedstrijd.
Paul Koon (2-0, 1 KO van Philadelphia zullen strijden Rex Harris (1-0-2) van Wikes-Barre, PA, in een zwaargewicht gevecht.
