NEW YORK – #A?gusto 23, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a new women’s flyweight (125 Funtoj) co-main event – Tracy Cortez (3-1) #Kontra?, Karen Cedillo (1-0) – as well as six other new bouts featuring fighters representing five different countries, for the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) franchise’s world championship event in Phoenix on Vendredo, Sept. 14, live on both Univision (12 .M. ET/PT) and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) (12 .M. ET/9 P.M. PT).

 

The unbeaten, 29=year-old Cedillo of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico will replace Brandi Narvaez, who was originally slated to face off with Cortez of Phoenix, Sed estis devigita retiri pro vundo.

 

 

In the previously announced, world championship bantamweight (135 Funtoj) Ĉefa evento, Monterrey’s Levy Saul Marroquin (11-2), the winner of the inaugural, 2017 “COPA COMBATE,” one-night, ok-viro, $100,000 grand prize tournament, will collide with fellow star Jose “Pochito” Alday (11-3-1) De Tucson, Ariz. via Hermosillo, Voĉa, Meksiko.

 

 

Among the other new fights announced today for the “Combate Americas: Marroquin vs. Alday” world championship event that will take place at Celebrity Theatre were a featured, live televised lightweight (155 Funtoj) contest between undefeated, rising star and Cub Swanson protégé Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (7-0) Kaj LaRue "La Cannibal" Burley (8-3).

 

 

La 5-piedo-7, 24-year-old Garcia of Palm Springs, Calif., USA by way of Mexicali, Baja Kalifornio, Meksiko, has been on a tear since he made his professional debut nearly four years ago, defeating all but one of his opponents via (T)KO aŭ submetado.

 

 

Burley, a 5-foot-10, 34-Jaro-malnova, seasoned competitor who hails from Phoenix, has faced off with top level adversaries, and is best known for his upset, third round (3:40) TKO (knee strike to the body and punches) De 2011 NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and previously undefeated MMA prospect Bubba Jenkins Sur Sept. 20, 2013.

 

 

Also announced today was a featherweight (145 Funtoj) preliminary bout card contest between two unbeaten prospects – Tino Gilaranz (1-0) De Madrido, Spain and Austin Wourms (1-0) De Phoenix.

 

 

In a 140-pound catchweight matchup on the undercard, Roman “El Gallito” Salazar (12-7) of Mammoth, Ariz., USA will return to La Jaula, la Batalo Amerikoj kaĝo, for the second time in his career, al vizaĝo Eduardo “El Pube” Alvarado (3-4) De Tijuana, Baja Kalifornio, Meksiko.

NEW YORK – August 29, 2017 – Combate Americas announced today that it has partnered with Southern California-based leisure operator Hybrid One to produce multiple, live televised Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) events in California’s Inland Empire, beginning with a nine-bout fight card for Mexican Independence Day, at The Amphitheater at Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Redlands on Vendredo, Sept. 15.

“Combate Americas: El Grito en La Jaula,” the event that kicks off the partnership, will air live on Azteca America en la U.S. and on ESPN Latin America at 10 P.M. ET, and will be headlined by a featherweight (145 Funtoj) matchup between ferocious, 26-year-old rising star Jose “Froggy” Estrada(3-1) of Oxnard, Calif. and gritty battler Izic “Lionheart” Fernandez (2-3) of Santa Ana, Calif.

In the women’s atomweight (105 Funtoj) co-main event, former Eddie Bravo protégé Kyra "Mogwai" Batara (6-4) De Las Vegas, Nev., fresh off her second-round submission victory over 12-time Spanish National Judo Champion Vanesa Rico, will make a quick return to La Jaula, la Batalo Amerikoj kaĝo, where the 22-year-old will face off with Jenna Serio (3-2) of New York, N.Y.

“We acquired Splash Kingdom in April of this year with the vision of transforming it into the Inland Empire’s leading entertainment destination. Today’s partnership with Combate Americas represents a significant step toward realizing that vision,” said Hybrid One co-founder and co-owner Ryan Sauter.

Following the kick-off event on Sept. 15, Combate Americas expects to return to the Redlands venue in December.

A second women’s atomweight matchup at “Combate Americas: El Grito en La Jaula” will pit two professional debut competitors – Brenda Enriquez (0-0) of Salt Lake City, Utah against Shyann Farmer (0-0) Alamogordo, N.M.

The 28-year-old Enriquez is coming off a stellar amateur career during which she amassed a 7-1 Rekordo, Kun 6 of her victories coming by way of either (T)KO aŭ submetado.

Farmer is a 24-year-old upstart who collected an amateur record of 4-1.

Elsewhere on the fight card, Undefeated, emerging star Rafael “Gifted” Garcia (4-0) of Mexicali, Baja Kalifornio, Mexico will make his second start in La Jaula and face off with three-time Combate Americas veteran Marcos “El Matador” Bonilla (4-4) De Los Angeles, Calif. in a featherweight contest.

In a battle between unbeaten lightweights (155 Funtoj) Javier “Habanero” Garcia (2-0) of Covina, Calif. Prenos sur Guillermo Gonzalez (3-0) de Sankta Bernardino, Calif.
