CANCUN, Meksika (Aprily 20, 2017) – The second installment of the 2017 “Cancun Boxing” andian, presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Sports & Entertainment, dia iasàny anio alina (Alakamisy alina, Aprily 20) in North America, manomboka amin'ny 10 p.m. SY / 7 p.m. PT, on CBS Sports Network.
The event took place this past April 8th at Grand Oasis Cancun the Hotel Complex, Cancun`s ONLY Ultimate All-Inclusive Entertainment Resort, which hosts all series events.
Three-time world champion Cristian “Diamente” Mijares (55-8-2, 26 Kos) and former super flyweight titlist Tomas “Gusano” Rojas (48-14-1, 32 Kos) squared off in the 10-round main event in a showdown between a pair of veteran Mexican featherweights.
Undefeated Mexican bantamweight prospect Aaron “Ghost” Alameda (18-0, 10 Kos) stepped up in class to fight battle-tested Edgar “Power” Jimenez (22-12-2, 16 Kos), ny Meksika, in the eight-round co-feature.

Three-time world champion Cristian “Diamente” Mijares (55-8-2, 26 Kos) and former super flyweight titlist Tomas “Gusano” Rojas (48-14-1, 32 Kos) squared off in the 10-round main event in a showdown between a pair of veteran Mexican featherweights.
Mijares vs. Rojas was a rematch of their March 12, 2004 fight in Mexico, in which Mijares won a 12-round unanimous decision for the Mexico super flyweight championship. They had a combined pro record of 103-22-3 (58 Kos), along with four world titles in two divisions, upon entering the ring last Saturday evening.
The reigning World Boxing Council (Kapila bitika) featherweight champion, Mijares is rated No. 4 and positioned for another world title shot with a victory over Rojas. Mijares is a three-time world super flyweight champion who is 11-5 in tontolo izao lohatenin'ny ady.
The 35-year-old boxer has defeated a Who’s Who of lower weight division boxers during his decade-plus professional career, ao anatin'izany ny Reynaldo Lopez, Jorge Arce,Chatchai Sasakul, Francisco Arce, Juan Alberto Rosas, Jonathan Perez,Alexander Valdez, Rafael Marquez, Johnny Soto, Teppei Kikui, Jose Navarro,Alexander Munoz ary Katsushige Kawashima.

His most notable wins have been against Kohei Kono, Noburo Mashiro, Juan Jose Montes, Everado Morales ary Evans Mbamba.
In the eight-round co-feature event, undefeated Mexican bantamweight prospect Aaron “Ghost” Alameda (18-0, 10 Kos) stepped up in class to fight battle-tested Edgar “Power” Jimenez (22-12-2, 16 Kos), ny Meksika.
The 24-year-old Alameda was relatively untested, in terms of facing high-quality opposition, while Jimenez is a proven upset specialist having taken a 10-round majority decision over 28-0 Ivan Morales amin'ny 2015.

Mexico’s 3-time world super flyweight champion Cristian “El Diamante” Mijares (53-8-2, 26 Kos) took on his fellow countryman, undefeated Andres “Jaguarito” Gutierrez (34-0-1, 24 Kos), in the 12-round main event for the vacant World Boxing Council (Kapila bitika) Silver Featherweight Championship. The outcome was controversial and now American viewers can be the judge.
WBC top 10 rated Mijares (sary ny sisa), 34, is a former IBF, WBA Super and WBC super flyweight world champion. The future Hall of Fame candidate is 11-5 in world title fights with key victories over Chatchai Sasakul,Jorge Arce ary Katsushige Kawashima (indroa).

In a battle of typically tough Mexican welterweights, John “Southpaw” Alvarez (23-5, 16 Kos), a southpaw who was riding a 10-fight win streak into his June 4faha- match up, met former World Boxing Federation (WBF) tompon-daka Jose “Piston” Lopez (25-4-2, 15 Kos) in a scheduled 8-round bout.
Also airing is a scheduled 8-round showdown between dangerous Mexican and Filipino rivals, Edgar “Power” Jimenez (21-11-2, 15 Kos) ary Jovylito “J-Flash” Aligarbes (12-3, 6 Kos). The 23-year-old Jimenez is a former FECARBOX bantamweight and Mexican flyweight champion who, two fights ago, took a 10-round decision from 28-0 Ivan Morales. The highlight of Aligarbes’ pro career to date is stopping Angelito Merin in the second round of their WBC Youth World super flyweight title fight in 2013.
