NEW YORK - Oktober 27, 2017 – TS-1 Promotions announced today that it will bring the Combate Americas live Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) television series to the state of Texas for the first time ever with a stacked, 12-bout event at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio on Vrijdag, December. 1.

“TS-1 Promotions is thrilled to debut the incredibly fast-growing Combate Americas live television event series in the great state of Texas,” said TS-1 Promotions CEO Greg Bloom. “We are going to deliver to fans a memorable night of MMA action featuring some of the fastest rising stars in the sport, including several of San Antonio’s hottest, young prospects.”

In the women’s atomweight (105 pond) main event and long-awaited grudge match, Eddie Bravo protégé Kyra "Mogwai" Batara (6-4) zal af plein met Paulina “Firefox” Granados (4-2).

In a featherweight (145 pond) co-main event, Andres “The Bullet” Quintana(12-2) will face off with fellow, hard-hitting knockout artist Rey "The Warrior" Trujillo (21-19).

Elsewhere on the fight card, Jose "Froggy" Estrada (4-1) zal af plein met Jesse Vasquez (2-3) in another featherweight contest.

Kyra Batara vs. Paulina Granados
The 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nev., a former high school cheerleader turned grappling expert, is coming off a stellar, tweede ronde (3:46) submission of 12-time Spanish national judo champion Vanesa Rico at “Combate Clasico” in Miami, Fla. op Juli 27.

Daten, Batara is unbeaten in Combate Americas television action, winning all four of her bouts – three by way of submission.

Granados is a 29-year-old native of Corpus Christi, Texas, now fighting out of San Diego, Calif. where she trains with a handful of the world’s top fighters.

Granados will look to notch her third straight victory on December 1.

Andres Quintana vs. Koning Trujillo

Quintana is a heavy-handed, 26-year-old rising star fighting out of Roswell, N.M. He is aiming for his third consecutive victory after earning back-to-back unanimous decisions over Uria Faber beschermd Erick Sanchez and Mexican contender Levy Saul Marroquin op Februari 16 en juni 30, respectievelijk.

NEW YORK - Oktober 26, 2017 –Combate Americas today announced the addition of two “alternate bouts” for its historic, een nacht, eight-man “COPA COMBATE” Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bantamgewicht (135 pond) tournament that will award its winner a grand prize of $100,000 at Grand Oasis in Cancun, Mexico on Zaterdag, November. 11, live on Telemundo Deportes (11:35 p.m. EN/10:35 p.m. CT, or following “Titulares y Mas”).

The two alternate matchups, as well as a newly announced women’s atomweight (105 pond) matchup between world top 10-ranked Sheila Padilla (3-1) Visalia, Calif. and aggressive-minded Lisbeth “Bunny” Lopez Silva(4-3) van Mexico-Stad, Mexico will stream live on the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app and TelemundoDeportes.com, vanaf 9 p.m. EN/8 p.m. CT, preceding the live Telemundo Deportes broadcast of the event that picks up with the tournament’s first semifinal stage matchup.

Marroquin’s start will mark a drop from the featherweight division. The 22-year-old, die uit Monterrey komt, Mexico, has produced seven of his eight career victories to date, via (T)KO of onderwerping.

A second women’s atomweight matchup at “Combate Americas: El Grito en La Jaula” will pit two professional debut competitors – Brenda Enriquez (0-0) of Salt Lake City, Utah against Shyann Farmer (0-0) Alamogordo, N.M.

The 28-year-old Enriquez is coming off a stellar amateur career during which she amassed a 7-1 record, met 6 of her victories coming by way of either (T)KO of onderwerping.

Farmer is a 24-year-old upstart who collected an amateur record of 4-1.

Former MMA world champion becomes the first Mexican American woman In history to lead matchmaking efforts for a combat sports franchise

NEW YORK - Juli 13, 2017 – Combate Americas has named retired, former women’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) wereldkampioen Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc, a Fight Director for the Hispanic sports and media franchise.

The appointment makes Rivera-Calanoc the first Mexican American woman in history to be charged with leading recruitment and matchmaking efforts for a combat sports organization.

Gevestigd in Las Vegas, Nev., Rivera-Calanoc, a training partner of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) wereldkampioen Miesha Tate, will be responsible for managing the rapidly expanding field of women athletes that compete for the Combate Americas live television event series, both in the U.S., and internationally in Latin America.

She will also participate in the recruiting and matchmaking processes for the Combate Americas men’s division.

A 10-year veteran of professional MMA competition, Rivera-Calanoc was ranked amongst the top 10 fighters in the world in three different weight classes – flyweight (125 pond), strawweight (115 pond) and atomweight (105 pond) – at three different points in her career.

Op augustus 23, 2008, Rivera-Calanoc was crowned a world champion after defeating Shawn Tamaribuchi by way of unanimous decision in a flyweight contest in Shawnee, Okla.

Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Rivera-Calanoc immigrated to the U.S. op leeftijd 5 with her family, and was raised in Tulsa, Okla. She returned to her roots in Chihuahua annually until her latter teenage years.

Making his return to the Combate Americas cage La Jaula is top-ranked bantamweight (135 pond) ster Ricky "The Gallero" Palacios (8-1), who will move up to the featherweight (145 pond) division for the second time in his Combate Americas career to face his toughest test to date – two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran and Nate Diaz beschermd, Chris Avila (5-4) van Stockton, Calif.

In bantamweight action, the red-hot Marcelo “Pitbull” Rojo (11-4) aims for his fourth consecutive win and second straight inside La Jaula following his blistering, technical knockout win over Ivan Hernandez “Brasil” Flores at Combate 12 last March in Tijuana, Mexico.

The 29-year-old Argentinian will be paired off against Puerto Rican sensation Billy Molina (5-3), 30, making his Combate Americas debut after last month’s return to action in Bayamon.

Joining the featherweight (145 pond) division for “Combate Clásico” is undefeated Venezuelan finisher Alberto Montes (3-0). Fighting out of the MMA Masters gym in Miami, the 23-year-old prospect locks horns with 30-year-old Combate Americas veteran Jonathan Quiroz (2-2) van Long Beach, Calif.
