The event took place this past June 3rd at Grand Oasis Cancun the Hotel Complex, Cancun`s ONLY Ultimate All-Inclusive Entertainment Resort, which hosts all series events.

Former IBF/WBO Minimumweight World Champion Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez, Jr. (22-4-1, 14 KOs) fought late replacement RolandoEl DuendeGusman (15-3, 9 KOs), of Argentina, in the 12-round WBC Flyweight World Title Eliminator. Rodriguez’ original opponent, “Lil” Oscar Cantu (14-1, 1 KO), was injured in a car accident only days before the scheduled event.
Rodriguez, 23, won his first world title in 2014, stopping previously unbeaten Merlito Sabillo (23-0-1), the defending WBO minimumweight title fight in Mexico, En la 10ThRondo. Later that same year, Rodriguez successfully defended his WBO crown with a 12-round unanimous decision over IBF minimumweight title holder Katsunari Takayama (27-6) to become unified world champion. Rodriguez vacated both titles in late 2014.
The 23-year-old Rodriguez unsuccessfully challenged WBA Light Flyweight World Champion Donnie Nietes (35-1-4), the reigning IBF flyweight world champion, dropping a 12-round unanimous decision.

Mijares vs. Rojas was a rematch of their March 12, 2004 fight in Mexico, in which Mijares won a 12-round unanimous decision for the Mexico super flyweight championship. They had a combined pro record of 103-22-3 (58 KOs), along with four world titles in two divisions, upon entering the ring last Saturday evening.
The reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight champion, Mijares is rated No. 4 and positioned for another world title shot with a victory over Rojas. Mijares is a three-time world super flyweight champion who is 11-5 in world title fights.
The 35-year-old boxer has defeated a Who’s Who of lower weight division boxers during his decade-plus professional career, Inkluzivanta Reynaldo Lopez, Georgo Arce,Ĉatĉaj Sasakul, Francisco Arce, Juan Alberto Rosas, Jonathan Perez,Alexander Valdez, Rafael Marquez, Johnny Soto, Teppei Kikui, Jose Navarro,Alexander Munoz Kaj Katsushige Kawashima.
WBC Ne. 18-rated Rojas is a former WBC super flyweight champion and the reigning WBC Americas featherweight titlist. Rojas, 36, was the WBC super flyweight world champion from September 20, 2010 al aŭgusto 19, 2011.

The main event and co-feature showcased a pair of world-class Mexican fighters, former minimumweight world champion Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez and No.1 world rated lightweight DanteCrazyJardon, in critical matches that had immediate world title fight implications.
The main event was a scheduled 10-round flyweight bout between Rodriguez (20-4-1, 13 KOs) Kaj Hajime Nagai (14-7-2, 4 KOs), of Japan. Rodriguez captured the World Boxing Organization (WBO) minimumweight title March 22, 2014 En Meksiko, by way of a 10-round technical knockout over previously unbeaten Merlito Sabillo (23-0-1), who was making his third title defense.
Rodriguez dropped IBF minimumweight title-holder Katsunari Takayama (27-6) once en route to his 12-round unanimous decision victory August 9, 2014, En Meksiko, in their unification match. Rodriguez later vacated both of his world minimumweight titles.
Rated as the No. 3 flyweight contender in the world by the WBO and No. 11 De la IBF, krom Neniu. 9 as a light flyweight by the World Boxing Council (WBC), Rodriguez can position himself for a potential title shot against WBO reigning flyweight champion Zou Shiming (9-2, 2 KOs), the 2-time Olympic gold medalist from China, who is scheduled to fight an opponent to be determined Marto 6 in Macau.

Jardon’s most notable victories have been over two-time world title challenger Miguel Roman (WDEC12) in their 2012 Rematch, world title challenger Adrian Verduro (DQ2) and former world super featherweight titlist Gamaliel Diaz (KO8) Je 2013, and two-time world champion Juan Carlos Salgado (DEC12) last March.
WBC Diamond title-holder and reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight world champion, Jorge Linares (41-3, 27 KOs), of Venezuela, is scheduled to fight Mar. 24 in a rematch with former WBA champion Anthony Crolla (31-5-3-3, 13 KOs) En Manchester, Britio.
If Jardon impressively defeated Rojo, he could be on the long list to fight Linares later this year, or now, as the No. 1 Deviga kontestanto, he could take on new WBC lightweight king Mickey Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs), the rising American star who recently knocked out defending WBC 135-pound division champion Dejan Zlaticanin (22-1, 15 KOs). Garcia was rated No. 2 to Jardon in the most recent WBC lightweight world ratings.

“Kankuna Boksado” Septembro 24 replay featuring Mexican KO artist Jhonny Gonzalez to air this Wednesday at 10 P.M. PT on CBS Sports Network

CANCUN, Meksiko (Oktobro 10, 2016) – The replay of the August 24th “Kankuna Boksado” Karto, presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Star Media, will air this Wednesday night (Oct. 12, Komencanta #?e 10 P.M. PT / 1 .M. ET, ĉe CBS Sports Network. Encore presentations will be Friday, Oct. 21 (7 P.M. PT / 10 P.M. ET) and Friday, Oct. 28 (1 .M. PT / 10 P.M. ET).

The event is the third installment of the “Kankuna Boksado” series that will air on CBS Sports Network in 2016. Grand Oasis Cancun the Hotel Complex, Cancun`s ONLY Ultimate All-Inclusive Entertainment Resort, will play host to all events in this ongoing series.

Hall-of-Fame announcer Al Bernstein and Sean Wheelock called the action live from ringside in Cancun, Meksiko.

Future Hall of Fame candidate Jhonny Gonzalez (61-10, 51 KOs) defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver super featherweight title for the fourth time, against Japanese invader Hiroysugi Yamamoto (19-12-2, 3 KOs), in the scheduled 10-round main event.

Gonzalez is Mexican knockout machine (51 karieron KOs) Kiu, as the saying goes, has never been in a bad fight. The 3-time, 2-division world champion Gonzalez, Aprezis Ne. 4 by the WBC going into this fight, has been on a mission for one more world title shot.

The 35-year-old Gonzalez has defeated 11 world champions during his illustrious 17-year professional boxing career, including a Who’s Who of the bantamweight, featherweight and super featherweight divisions: Mark Johnson (KO8), Abner Mares (KO1), Georgo Arce (TKO11), Ratanachai Sor Vorapin (KO7), Fernando Montiel (DEC12), Irene Pacheco (TKO9), Elio Rojas (DEC12), Maurice Pastrana (TKO4), Hozumi Hasegawa (TKO4), Francisco Tejedor (TKO1) and Adams Rivas (DEC12).

Chavez, 28, captured her WBC flyweight crown last September, taking a unanimous 10-round decision from Arely Mucino (21-2-2), followed by successful title defenses against Simona Galassi (WTDEC9) Kaj, plej laste, Vanesa Lorena (WDEC10) this past March.
During her outstanding 7-year professional career, Chavez has been International Boxing Federation (IBF) and Interim World Boxing Federation (WBF) light flyweight champion. She also has several other title belts in her collection, including WBC International female in addition to WBC Silver and North American Boxing Federation (NABF) light flyweight.
WBC Ne. 5-rated Moreno, 28, Venkita Eva Voraberger (20-4) by majority 10-round decision this past April in Austria for the International Boxing Organization (IBO), Women’s International Boxing Federation (WIBF) and Global Boxing Union (GBU) world super flyweight titles.
Je 2012, she won a 10-round decision over Naomi Togashi (10-0-1) for the WBC world light flyweight championship, followed by one title defense victory against Maricela Quintero (WDEC10). She has also been WBC Youth and WBC Silver light flyweight, Mexican bantamweight and light flyweight champion.
In their original match-up, Moreno won a convincing 10-round decision over Chavez, per dudekopo de 98-92 by all three judges, for the vacant WBC Silver and Interim Mexico light flyweight titles.
In The 10-round co-feature, Mexican welterweights Jose “Piŝto” Lopez Kaj Diego “Demoledor” Cruz went toe-to-toe with future title fight implications at stake.

The other televised bout was an intriguing match-up between former WBC World super bantamweight champion Viktoro “VikingoTerrazas (37-3-1, 21 KOs) and battle-tested Cristian “El RudoArrazola (20-11-2, 15 KOs).
The 33-year-old Terrazas, who hadn’t fought since his losing his WBC title nearly three years ago to Leo Santa Cruz, captured the vacant WBC crown in 2013, taking a 12-round split decision from fellow Mexican great Cristian Mijares. Terrazas also holds a notable victory by way of a unanimous 12-round decision over another Mexican boxing icon, 5-tempo, 3-divido mondĉampiono Fernando Montiel, for the vacant WBC Silver super bantamweight championship.
