Bout headlines Guerra De Gallos at Casino Del Sol

Tucson, AZ – Octombrie. 23 – When Tucson’s Jensen Ramirez (6-2-3, 1KO) squares off with Nogales’ Thomas Valdez (16-4-2, 6KO) at the Casino Del Sol’s AVA Amphitheater, eut will be the first seven-round bout in Arizona’s history. The featherweight bout headlines the Nov. 17 eveniment, dubbed Guerra De Gallos.

 

 

 

Raging Babe’s Michelle Rosado had to think outside the box when negotiating the card’s main event. One camp wanted an eight-round fight and one wanted a six. Roz, consulting with her mentor, Hall-of-Fame Promoter J Russell Peltz, lamented the potential loss of a solid, local main event. Peltz had a solution. “Why not meet in the middle and make it seven rounds?” Rosado was skeptical. “I told him to get outta here,” Rosado said. “I was laughing, but Peltz wasn’t joking. School was in session.”

 

 

 

There was a precedent. Peltz told the story of “The Long-Haired Boxer” Edwin “Chu Chu” Malave vs. Harold Weston, Jr. in a welterweight bout that took place in August of 1971 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Malave wanted the bout to be eight rounds, and Weston wanted 10. The New York State Athletic Commission proposed that the bout be nine rounds. Malave went on to win a split decision, with two judges scoring the fight 5-4 in his favor, and the third scoring it 5-4 for Weston.

 

 

 

Rosado had her fight.

 

 

 

“I bought right into it when Russell told me about the Malave-Weston bout,” she said. “I knew we had a good fight, and there was something special about having a seven-round main event.” Both Ramirez and Valdez’s teams agreed, and the Pascua Yacqui Commission sanctioned the seven-round bout. On Nov. 17, Tucson boxing fans will see Arizona’s first seven-round bout between two local “gallos.”

 

 

 

Raging Babe will host a press conference this Thursday, Octombrie 25 at Casino Del Sol’s Paradiso Lounge at 2 p.m. The presser will be open to the public and will include a tribute to promoter Don Chargin.

MANILA (Octombrie 22, 2018) — Senator MANNY “Pacman” Pacquiao, boxing’s only eight-division world champion, announced today that he has entered into an exclusive agreement to work with manager / advisor Al Haymon. The new alliance will have team Pacquiao and Haymon work together to navigate the remainder of his illustrious career. Pacquiao’s first defense of the World Boxing Association welterweight world title will kick off the new partnership and will have Pacquiao appear on the Premier Boxing Champions series. Pacquiao’s promotion company, MP Promotions, will promote all of his upcoming bouts under this new alignment with Haymon.

 

 

 

MP Promotions will also work with Al Haymon to bring some of the best fighters from the Philippines and Asia to the United States to appear on the PBC series.

 

 

 

“I’m very excited about this new chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to a fresh start. I’m reinvigorated by the prospects of bringing up new fighters under the MP Promotions banner,” said Pacquiao. “My team will work closely with Al Haymon for the remainder of my career to deliver the most anticipated fights with the top PBC fighters. Duerte and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad in attendance (the first time two heads of state attended a championship boxing event), Pacquaio regained the welterweight title for a fourth time on July 15 at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia by knocking out defending WBA champion Lucas Matthyssee in the seventh round.

 

 

 

Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KO), who hails from Sarangani Province in the Philippines, is the only sitting Congressman and Senator to win a world title. After serving two terms as congressman, Pacquiao was elected to a Philippine Senate seat in May 2016, capturing over 16 million votes nationally. Pacquiao’s boxing resume features victories over current and future Hall of Famers, inclusiv Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Evenimentul principal de vineri seara a fost una dintre singurele lupte la FFC 32 (care a fost un eveniment exclusiv MMA) asta nu s-a încheiat cu un knockout. Shelton “Gropar” Graves (9-3-0) l-a învins pe Carl “Apa de baie” Seumanutafa (11-9-0) prin decizie unanimă (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) pentru a câștiga titlul vacant de campionat FFC MMA Heavyweight.

 

 

 

Graves a făcut o treabă excelentă evitând să stea de la picioare la picioare cu artistul eliminator, Seumanutafa, petrecând cea mai mare parte a luptei apăsând pe Samoanul greu (Seumanutafa) ridicat de frânghii și folosind genunchii pe corp și o serie de repere rapide pentru a-și frustra adversarul. Strategia a lucrat, întrucât Seumanutafa era frustrat de presiunea constantă, ceea ce i-a permis lui Graves să-l țină pe frânghii și împotriva întinderii, înlăturând orice ocazie pentru un knockout al mărcii comerciale Seumanutafa.

 

 

 

În Co-Main Event, Greutate welter neînvinsă, Austin “DACĂ 47” Vanderford (6-0-0), și-a păstrat recordul fără cusur în tact când l-a zguduit pe Emilson “Războinicul amazonian” Freitas (7-3-0) cu o mână stângă frumoasă la templul de la 1:38 marca de o singură rundă. Greutate ușoară neînvinsă anterior, Ivan Erslan (6-1-0), a încercat să rămână neînvins ca profesionist, dar adversarul său, Branko Busick (3-1-0) a avut alte idei. Busick l-a trimis pe Erslan pe pânza de la 4:41 marca celei de-a doua runde cu mâna stângă solidă până la bărbie și tot ce a scris pentru Erslan. Busick câștigă prima victorie KO a tinerei sale cariere.

 

 

 

În divizia Lightweight, cum a promis, a fost o “grapplers paradis” atâta timp cât a durat… Și nu a durat foarte mult. Brandon “Kiba” Rețete (9-2-0) a supus Adam “Lovitura” Fierar (11-10-0) de Arm Triangle la 4:26 marca primei runde. Dacă țineți scorul, toate cele nouă victorii ale lui Ricetti au venit prin supunere.

Tyner and Chambliss Grudge Match Ready to Explode on October 26 în Detroit

In Detroit, the latter type of grudge match, a real grudge match, has heated to a boil on social media. With insults and threats going back-and-forth daily, outspoken Detroit boxing staple Lanardo “Pain Server” Tyner (34-13-2, 21 KO) and upstart opponent Cortez Chambliss (4-0, 4 KO) have been escalating hostilities since the day their match-up was announced.

 

 

 

The two Detroit-based welterweights will finally settle their differences in the eight-round main event on Friday, Octombrie 26, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel.

 

Tickets priced between $180-$25 and are available through Ticketmaster outlets.

 

 

 

“He’s trying to bunny hop over me, but he’s not ready,” said an animated Tyner. The 43-year-old is known as a fearless and iron-jawed spoiler. A 14-year veteran, Tyner has been the 12-round distance with elite superstar Canelo Alvarez and world champions such as Lamont Peterson and Antonio DeMarco. He’s also taken out a number of prospects who found out too late they were in too deep.

 

 

 

“I can’t believe he even called me out,” continued Tyner. “He’s going to get a beating. This isn’t the amateurs and there are no shortcuts. This is not the door to come through.”

(Octombrie 18, 2018) Britain’s IBF #5-rated heavyweight contender Hughie Fury is putting the final touches on a “torturous” training camp and, with his team, will arrive in Sofia, Bulgaria, sâmbătă.

Fury and father/trainer Peter Fury have been pushing it to the limit in their Manchester Gym, training twice a day, six days a week for up to three hours per session. But Fury, the current BBBofC British Heavyweight Champion, says all the work will soon be worth it.

 

 

 

“It will all be worth it when my hand is raised,” he continued. “There are no holes in my game right now. I’m at the top of my craft and once Pulev is eliminated, I’ll be coming for Anthony Joshua. He looked vulnerable in his last fight. I’m the one who will capitalize on those vulnerabilities!"

 

 

 

Despite his supreme confidence, defeating Pulev will be no easy feat for 24-year-old Fury. 37-year-old Pulev is one of the most popular athletes in all of Bulgaria, and a former two-time European and IBF International Heavyweight Champion. Pulev’s only career loss came in a challenge for the undisputed heavyweight championship against Wladimir Klitschko în 2014. After Homecoming win, Heavyweight Contender Andrey Fedosov eyeing big fights

PHILADELPHIA, PENN / CHICAGO, ILL. (Octombrie 17, 2018)-After a 10-round unanimous decision over tough Joey Dawejko this past Saturday in Ekaterinburg, Rusia, 2015 Boxcino Heavyweight champion Andrey Fedosov is back on track in his effort to fight for the heavyweight championship of the world.

 

 

 

Fedosov, who made his first start in his home country in over 10 an, defeated the former world amateur champion by shutout scores of 100-90 on two scorecards, și 98-92 on a the third card.

 

 

 

Fedosov registered his 2nd win in less than four months.

Alfonso Olvera Returns, Chris Gonzalez faces Judas Estrada

 

Tucson, Arizona – Octombrie 16, 2018 – On the heels of her sold out July 17th event at the award-winning Casino Del Sol Resort & Cazinou, Michelle Rosado’s Raging Babe returns to the same venue on Saturday, 17 noiembrie, when super featherweights Jensen Ramirez of Tucson, and Thomas Valdez of Nogales collide in the main event, outdoors at the AVA Amphitheater. Tucson’s Alfonso Olvera returns ahead of his anticipated rematch of his sensational bout with Wilberth Lopez on July’s card, and Tucson’s Christopher Gonzalez faces Nogales’ Judas Estrada in a four-round welterweight contest.

 

 

 

Main event fighters Jensen Ramirez (6-2-3, 1KO) and Thomas Valdez (16-4-2, 6KO), have both called Tucson home, but the similarities between the two end there.

 

 

 

Ramirez, 26, is an award-winning tattoo artist when he is not fighting. He defeated Sierra Vista’s Jesus Arevalo at Raging Babe’s July event, after a two-year layoff, earning a 6-round majority decision over the often-avoided Arevalo. If his bout with Arevalo was about redemption, his upcoming bout with Valdez is about showing Tucson, and all of Arizona, that he belongs in the mix with the top super featherweights in the state.

 

 

 

Valdez, 29, last fought December 1, 2017, when he scored a wide unanimous decision in an 8-round bout versus a far more experienced Daniel Valenzuela of Mexico. A hand injury has kept him on the shelf. Coming from a fighting family, Valdez is trained and managed by his uncle, Oscar Valdez, Sr., who also happens to be the father of WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez, Jr. Thomas Valdez will be fighting in Arizona for the first time since a 2013 six-round decision loss to undefeated prospect Victor Castro, de Phoenix, Arizona.

 

 

Both Valdez and Ramirez will walk into the ring on November 17th with something to prove – to Tucson boxing fans, and to themselves.

 

 

 

Tucson favorite Alfonso Olvera (10-5-1, 4KO) will make his return on November 17. Olvera has his sights set on an eventual rematch with Wilberth Lopez (23-9,15KO), but cannot afford to stumble along the way. The two thrilled the Guerro De Gallo crowd in the card’s main event in July, ending in a split decision that favored Lopez. The decision pleased some and disappointed others in the sold out crowd, and since the bout, both camps and fans who were in attendance that night have called for a rematch. The Gonzalez-Estrada contest features two local prospects who had the fans on their feet during their separate July bouts at Guerra De Gallos. Nashville, TN (Octombrie 16, 2018) – Tri-Star Boxing Promotions will host Murfreesboro, TN’s first pro boxing card in more than a quarter century when they present “Beatdown in the Boro” Saturday, Decembrie 8 at The Mid-TN Expo Center.

Headlining is an intriguing eight round super middleweight showdown between Nashville’s Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko and longtime contender Bryan Vera of Austin, TX.

 

 

 

Originally from Accra, Ghana, the heavy-handed Agbeko’s outstanding professional record is 21-1 cu 18 victorii prin knock-out. În luna martie, Agbeko outpointed Lawrence Blakey in Nashville and made it known he was eager to take on tougher opposition. Since defeating Blakey, Agbeko’s spent time training with many of the world’s top fighters in Las Vegas.

 

 

 

Recognized as one of the toughest and most exciting fighters on the planet, Vera’s never backed down from a challenge. His professional ledger is 26-13 cu 16 wins by knockout and he’s been on boxing’s biggest stage multiple times. Vera has two wins against former world champion Sergio Mora along with knockout victories over former titlists Sergiy Dzinziruk and Andy Lee.

Murfreesboro’s Rydell “Super” Mayes, 1-0 (1 KO), will face an opponent to be named in a four round heavyweight contest. A standout football player at Riverdale high school, Mayes scored an impressive knockout in his pro debut July 28.

 

 

 

Lightweight Austin “The Dream” Dulay looks to get back to his winning ways following his first career defeat when he faces an opponent to be named. Born and raised in Nashville, Dulay has an excellent 11-1 înregistrare cu 8 victories by KO.

 

 

 

Popular Nashville native Eduardo “Chachi” Aguilar meets 15 fight veteran Carl Currie of Robbins, IL over four rounds. The two met July 28 and fought to a thrilling draw.

 

 

 

Unbeaten Memphis, TN based junior middleweight Mike Cook, 9-0 (4 Lui KO), and heavyweight Dylan Courson, 2-1 (2 Lui KO), of Rome, GA are slated to appear in separate bouts against opponents TBD.
