NEW YORK (Luglio 7, 2017) – Imbattuto super leggero Keenan Smith is ready and confident for his upcoming bout with Giovanni “La Bestia” Baranchyk as the two prepare to meet in an eight-round main event on ShoBox: The New Generation on Venerdì, Luglio 14 in diretta su Showtime (10 p.m. E/PT, in ritardo sulla West Coast) da Buffalo Run Casino di Miami, Okla.
The ShoBox telecast features eight returning fighters with a combined record of 94 wins against just four losses.
Dangerous southpaw “Killa” Fabbro, (11-0, 5 KO), of Philadelphia will make his second appearance on the series as he takes on Baranchyk, (14-0, 10 KO), a native of Minsk, Byelorussia fighting out of Miami, Okla., who is making his fifth appearance on the ShoBox series.

Fabbro, il 2008 National Golden Gloves Champion and 2007 Junior campione olimpico nazionale, debuted on ShoBox in November of 2015, scoring a hard-fought unanimous decision over Benjamin Whitaker. Il 5-foot-7, 26-anni, will make his third start of the year after taking 2016 off to recover from and ACL injury and the loss of both of his parents within six months of each other. Smith has knocked out both of his opponents this year, Marquis Hawthorne and Edgar Gabejan.
Smith set up training camp in Southern Jersey, and has prepared for this bout with complete focus, and is ready to become a player in the junior welterweight division.
“Camp has been good, and I had a lot of top-notch sparring,” ha detto Smith. “I have been doing a lot of strength and conditioning. This has been a wonderful camp, e July 14th, the fans will see the best Keenan Smith.”
He continued: “My confidence is at 100%. I will beat him, and I am looking to kill The Beast.”
With a win over Baranchyk, Smith feels he can become an immediate contender at junior welterweight.
“The fight will open doors for me and get me bigger and better opportunities.”
Smith’s promoter Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions is fully behind his fighter and believes a breakout performance is in store for Luglio 14.
“This will be Keenan’s chance to show what we already know: That he is a vastly talented fighter who has the goods to go a long way in this sport,” Mielnicki said. “He has the pedigree and now this is the stage where he becomes a real commodity in boxing. We are looking for a shining performance on Luglio 14.”
Smith is trained by his brother Lemar Smith, and is managed by Doc Nowicki and David Price.

Umile, Texas (Luglio 7, 2017) – Highly decorated amateur, Christian Montano (1-0, 1 KO) has signed with NOW Promotions

Montano of The Woodlands, Texas was a three-time national champion, and had a 43-2 registrare amatoriale, Il 18 year-old Montano is managed by James Cooper and NFL All-Pro offensive Tackle, Trent Williams of the Washington Redskins.

Being with a management team that includes Williams, a five-time pro bowl selection, has been a positive influence on the 18 anni.
“Trent sees me as being on a path to success that he has achieved. He guides me, and we have a great friendship. He has shown me how to be a professional and we have talks about hard work and getting to the top of our profession.”
Montano’s describes his style as diverse, and the eighteen year-old is looking to take care of business in the light heavyweight division, and he feels that he will grow into boxing’s glamour division.
“I am a boxer-puncher that has an aggressive and vicious streak that throws every punch with bad intentions. I am looking to be a major player at light heavyweight and I feel I will grow into a heavyweight. I want to change boxing, and bring excitement and entertainment back to the sport, and have people remember as the Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson of my time.”
Said NOW Promotions Joseph Dunkin, “Christian is a terrific talent, and I am thrilled to have him in the fold. He combines his ability with charisma, and he could be a big star in the sport for years to come. We will keep him busy, and develop him into a big-time fighter.”

Top N.E. boxers in action August 5 su “Fight Night at the Bay” in Quincy, MA

QUINCY, Massa. (Luglio 6, 2017) — Many of New England’s best and most popular professional boxers will be showcased Sabato notte, Agosto 5, sul “Fight Night at the Bay” carta, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Former N.E. welter campione Derek Silveira (12-1, 6 KO), fighting out of Salem (MA), will headline against an opponent to be determined in the eight-round main event.
Nella co-feature otto round, favorito città natale Chris Traietti (23-4, 19 KO) e Nick Lavin (4-5, 4 KO), of Shelton (CT), square off for the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship. Traietti, fighting at home in Quincy, is also the co-promoter of “Fight Night at the Bay”. A former World Boxing Council (WBC) United States cruiserweight titlist, Traietti is a college graduate who did one tour of duty in Iraq while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Three-time world title challenger, welter Aleksandra Lopes (17-4-2, 1 KO) will be in action versus former world super lightweight champion Lisa Garland (15-7-1, 8 KO) in an eight-round Special Female Welterweight Attraction. The popular Lopes is a native of Poland who lives in Marshfield (MA), Garland hails from York, Carolina Del Sud.
“Granite Chin Promotions is turning it up a notch for our Agosto 5th evento,” co-promoter Chuck Shearns suddetto. “We are keeping promising, well-known young fighters busy. They’re fighting in front of their hometown fans, in some good scraps that promises to be an entertaining show. By the time the night is over, I expect we will have had a few surprises. Tickets are priced reasonably for this family-friendly venue on the beautiful South Shore.”
Unbeaten Brooklyn middleweight Carlos Gongora (8-0, 7 KO) faces battle-tested Texan Larry “Slow Motion” Fabbro (10-33-1, 7 KO) in una lotta di sei round.

BROOKLYN (Luglio 6, 2017) – A stacked night of undercard bouts will be highlighted by unbeaten rising Irish stars Katie Taylor e Noel Murphy in separate showdowns on Sabato, Luglio 29 da Barclays Center, la casa di Brooklyn boxe ™.

Additional action will see Australian contender Billy Dib (42-4, 24 KO) in an eight-round lightweight fight and unbeaten prospect Alejandro Guerrero (3-0, 2 KO) in a four-round lightweight match.

 

Rounding out the night will be a trio of unbeaten local prospects as the Bronx’s Giorgio Arias (7-0, 3 KO) steps into the ring for a six-round heavyweight bout, plus Staten Island’s Kenny Robles (2-0, 1 KO) competing in a four-round welterweight attraction and Brooklyn’sRichardson Hitchins (2-0, 1 KO) in a four-round junior welterweight matchup.

A rising star overseas, Bray, Irlanda Taylor will make her U.S. debutto su Luglio 29 and conduct her training camp in Vernon, Connecticut after five pro fights in the United Kingdom dating back to her pro debut last November. Taylor has already picked up three victories in 2017, including her most recent triumph over previously unbeaten Nina Meinke in April. Taylor seeks a professional world title after a sensational amateur career that saw her twice represent her country in the Olympics, including a gold medal-winning performance in 2012, in addition to five gold medals in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.

 

Originally from Cork, Irlanda, Murphy returned to his home country to fight as a professional for the first time in February when he won an eight-round decision over Avelino Vazquez. The 22-year-old fights out of Woodlawn, NY and will look to pick up his fourth victory this year after most recently earning a decision over Brian Jones in May. Murphy seeks his third professional win at Barclays Center and second this year after beating Maxito Sainvil in January.

NEW YORK (Luglio 6, 2017) – Consensus top-10 heavyweight Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller will make his hometown debut just down the block from where he was born when he faces former world title challenger Gerald Washington at Barclays Center, la casa di Brooklyn boxe, after an 11-month hiatus.

The confident and hard-hitting Miller has knocked out seven consecutive opponents since his pro debut in 2009. Following a voluntary layoff due to contractual disputes, the 28-year-old former professional kickboxer will take a step up in opposition when he faces Washington, a U.S. Navy veteran who challenged heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder earlier this year in a hard-fought bout.

 

“The day has been set and it can’t come soon enough,” said Miller. “Fighting is my life and being able to make my debut at Barclays Center is beyond monumental. This will be a night to remember for me, my family and for the fans.”

I will shake up the division by turning it upside down and I will put not just my beloved hometown of Brooklyn on the map, but the entire United States of America.”

 

The 6-foot-6 Washington, 35, is a well-rounded athlete from Vallejo, Calif. who turned to pro boxing in 2012. He played football under Pete Carroll and Steve Sarkisian at University of Southern California and was part of the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks practice squads before turning to boxing. Washington holds victories over experienced one-time Wladimir Klitschko foe Eddie Chambers and veteran Ray Austin. He will be making his East Coast debut on Luglio 29.

CANCUN, Messico (Luglio 6 2017) – The third installment of the 2017 “Cancun Boxing” serie, presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Star Sports & Divertimento, will air this Saturday night (Luglio 7) in Nord America, a partire da 8 p.m. E / 5 p.m. PT, su CBS Sports Network. Former IBF/WBO Minimumweight World Champion Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez, Jr. (22-4-1, 14 KO) fought late replacement Rolando “El Duende” Gusman (15-3, 9 KO), di Argentina, in the 12-round WBC Flyweight World Title Eliminator. The televised opener is an eight-round, non-title fight between a pair of Mexican lightweights, WBC Latino champion Francisco “Paquito” Rosso (19-2, 12 KO) and Mexican Pacific Coast titlist Gesù “Kiligua” Velazco (13-9-2, 5 KO).
