Undefeated Super Flyweight Dylan “The Real Dyl” Price reflects on Briscoe Award and upcoming April 21st fight

PHILADELPHIA (Maart 15, 2018)–It will be a busy few weeks for undefeated super flyweight prospect Dylan “The Real Dyl” Price.
De 19 year-old native of Sicklerville, New Jersey who has a perfect mark of 5-0 met al zijn overwinningen via knock-out (Inclusief 4 in the 1st round) will be on-hand at the 11th annual Briscoe Awards to accept the prestigious Rookie of the Year award.
The Awards Ceremony will take place on Zondag, March 25th at the VBA Clubhouse at 2733 Clearfield Street in Philadelphia.
Vervolgens op April 21st, Price will look for win number-six when he takes on a yet to be named opponent at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This will be Price’s 3rd consecutive appearance at Barclays Center.

James (22-1, 10 KO) is coming off the biggest victory of his career – a knockout over tough veteran Diego Chaves on December. 15. The 29-year-old James joined unified 147-pound champion Keith Thurman as the only boxer to have knocked out the durable Argentine. It was James second straight victory since suffering the only loss of his career – a unanimous decision defeat to Yordenis Ugas on Aug. 12, 2016. James hasn’t fought in his hometown of Minneapolis since he scored a unanimous decision over Mohammed Kayongo in 2013.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete on this platform and to show the nation and the world that Minnesota has great fighters and an enthusiastic fan base for boxing,” said James. “Abel Ramos is a tough guy who will come to fight, but coming off the big win over Chaves, I’m in a position in my career where I’m trying to reach that world championship level. I have to continue to demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure in difficult fights. I know he’s coming to pull off an upset, but that’s not happening.”
Ramos (18-2-2, 13 KO) will complete his move to the welterweight division by taking on James after making his welterweight debut with a stoppage of Emmanuel Robles last July. The 26-year-old out of Arizona has won three of his last four fights and his only pro defeats have come at the hands of top 140-pound contenders Regis Prograis and Ivan Baranchyk.
“I’m a real Mexican warrior and I never back down from a fight,” said Ramos. “I’m not worried about going into Jamal James hometown and fighting him there. I’m going to disappoint Jamal and all his fans in Minneapolis, because I’m coming to win.”
Kers (36-7-2, 19 KO) has defeated once-beaten contenders Haskell Rhodes and Omar Douglas since losing a split decision to Jose Pedraza in a 130-pound world title match in 2015. The 35-year-old Cherry of Wauchula, Florida has previously challenged Tim Bradley and Paulie Malignaggi during his career that included a 10-fight win streak after the Bradley bout.
“Dennis Galarza is a great, young fighter who is on the rise, coming to win and looking to become a world champion, but he is in for a real fight,” zei Cherry. “I’m not taking this fight lightly, I’m getting ready, and I’m ready to go all out on April 13. “My eyes have been on Edner as a friend and as a fan since I was young, but this is business and I’m going to be ready,” Said Galarza. “Edner is a true warrior who never lets up and a crafty veteran who has fought a lot of great competition. The Pedraza fight I thought he possibly did win. A lot of people duck Edner Cherry because he beat top guys in Rhodes and Douglas his past two fights, plus he can punch with power. People think Edner’s going to break me down, but I took the fight that nobody wants to take. I believe in my talents and I’m ready to make my mark. This fight will demonstrate the type of fighter that I am.”
It is rare to see a match between two young prospects on the rise this early in their careers, but Dulay and Colbert are both eager for that challenge. Dulay (11-0, 8 KO) was busy last year, fighting four times with only one fight going the distance. The 22-year-old southpaw from Nashville, Tennessee most recently scored a TKO victory over Carlos Padilla last August.
Colbert (7-0, 2 KO) has one of the most decorated amateur careers in New York City as he fights out of the renowned Atlas Cops and Kids Gym in Brooklyn. The 21-year-old is noted for his blazing hand and foot speed and he enters this fight coming off a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Titus Williams last November.

NEW YORK, NY (Maart 14, 2018) – Dominican Featherweight prospect, Braulio Rodriguez (19-2, 17KO's), makes his return to the ring on Zaterdag, March 17th, 2018 tegen Christopher Diaz (22-0, 14KO's) from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. The ten-round bout will take place at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York, New York and will be for the WBO-NABO Super Featherweight title. The show will be promoted by Top Rank.

JARON ENNIS IS THE ONE TO WATCH IN PHILLY

PHILADELPHIA – Twenty year old welterweight boxer Jaron “Boots” Ennis will honored as “The One to Watch” bij de 11th Annual Briscoe Awards op Maart 25, 2018. Ennis, momenteel 18-0, 16 KO, has been turning heads ever since he turned professional in 2016. After less than two years as a professional, Boots has convinced local boxing fans that he’s destined to become a world champion.
“Ennis has every Philly boxing fan excited,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “He is the real thing and at the rate he’s going, he’ll be fighting for the title in another year.”
Ennis is no stranger to the Briscoe Awards. He won the “Amateur van het jaar” twee jaar geleden, and was named the “Rookie van het Jaar” vorig jaar. He returns to the Briscoe stage on March 25th to receive his third acknowledgement by Philly Boxing History.
The Briscoe Awards commemorate the biggest and best accomplishments of the Philly-area boxing scene. Undefeated Junior Lightweight Michael Dutchover back in action this Saturday night

PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Calif. (Maart 13, 2018)- Deze zaterdag nacht bij de Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Californië, budding junior lightweight talent Michael Dutchover (7-0, 5 KO) headlines the first show of his young career when he faces Ricardo Lopez (7-1-2, 6 KO).
Nederlands Over, 20, hails from Midland, Tex. but moved to the Los Angeles area last year to take advantage of the rich sparring that the region offers. The former amateur standout is making his first start of the year against a fellow prospect in Lopez who will be eager to give him a fight.
“There’s no doubt that Lopez is thinking upset,” Said Dutchover, who is trained and managed by Danny Zamora. “I won’t let him do anything that he wants to do. I plan to dominate the fight. It’s my first main event as a professional so there’s added motivation to give the fans an excellent show.”
All signs point to Dutchover delivering the goods on Saturday night. In the lead up to this fight, he spent several weeks in Guadalajara, Mex. sparring with world champion Oscar Valdez.
“Spending time with the Valdez camp was an incredible experience,” Dutchover said. “I learned a lot from Valdez. The sparring sessions are what everyone wants to talk about, but it was more than that for me. Just seeing how he conducted himself and how focused he was. That left a lasting impression on me.”
Dutchover is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

Agbeko-Blakey tops St. Patrick’s Day Fight Night in Nashville

Nashville, TN (Maart 13, 2018) – Light heavyweight knockout king Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko will headline Tri-Star Boxing’s special edition of “Fight at the Fairgrounds” when he battles Lawrence Blakey Zaterdag, Maart 17 at the Fairground Sports Arena in Nashville, TN.

Hailing from Ghana and fighting out of Nashville, Agbeko’s impressive professional ledger reads 20-1 met 18 overwinningen door knock-out. The 26-year-old has become a local favorite and Zaterdag marks his third fight in the Music City. He most recently defeated veteran Anthony Bowman via 2ndround stoppage in January.
Standing across the ring will be Pennsylvania’s Lawrence Blakey. A tough luck fighter with a 5-8-2 record and two wins by KO, Blakey’s been victimized by questionable judging. His last four defeats came via split or majority decision and he’s faced six unbeaten foes. In november 2017, Blakey outpointed Joe Paintiff (12-3) via unaniem besluit.
The Agbeko-Blakey fight is scheduled for six rounds.
Exciting junior flyweight Edwin Reyes of Nashville by way of Guatemala faces Mexico’s 56 fight veteran Armando “Chiquita” Vazquez in the 10 round co-feature. The pair previously met in 2017, with Reyes capturing an exciting decision victory. This time around Reyes, 7-3-2 (5 KO's), aims for a knockout to erase any doubts that he’s the superior fighter.
The undercard will see the return of Antioch, TN’s Luis “El Taino” Galarza in a four round contest. Fighting for the first time in nearly two years, Galarza has an excellent 21-4 record met 15 of his victories by knockout. He’s shared the ring with world champions Kell Brook and Austin Trout but his proudest moment in boxing will come Zaterdag evening when he donates 100% of his fight purse to LifePoint Church.

Witherspoon decisions Capers in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Maart 12, 2018)–Chazz Witherspoon raised his winning streak to eight in a row as he went the eight-round distance by won a unanimous decision over Lamont Capers that headlined a seven-bout card at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
De show, which took place this past Zaterdag, was promoted by Mis Downing Promotions and Silverspoon Promotions.
Witherspoon was able to outpoint the crafty Capers. Capers was very competitive, but it was Witherspoon’s size and harder punches that proved to be the difference as he captured the via 78-74, 78-74 en 77-75 scores.
Witherspoon van Paulsboro, NJ is nu 37-3. Kappertjes, who was fighting for the 2nd time in seven days is 9-12-4.
Willis Lockett took a six-round majority decision over Prince Badi Ajamu in a cruiserweight bout.
Lockett of Takoma Park, MD won met scores van 59-55, 58-56 en 57-57, en is nu 16-22-6. Ajamu of Camden, NJ is 28-4-1.
Super lichtgewicht Johannes Bauza remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over David Morales.
Bauza of North Bergen, NJ won on all cards by scores of 60-54, en is nu 9-0. Morales of Managua, Nicaragua 13-9.
Mike Hilton won a three-round technical unanimous decision over Hector Perez.
The fight was a terrific back and forth brawl when Perez suffered a cut over his right eye in the third frame.
Perez almost made a quick night for himself as he dropped Hilton in the 1st round. Hilton stormed back to register his own knockdown’s in round two and three.

De scores waren 28-26 on all cards at the time of he stoppage.

Hilton of Trenton, NJ is 10-0. Perez of Pleasantville, NJ is 3-2
Edgar Cortes won a four-round unanimous decision over Kevin Asmat in a featherweight bout.
Scores waren 38-37 tweemaal en 39-36 for Cortes, van Vineland, NJ, die nu 6-4. Asmat of North Bergen. NJ is 3-2.
Alejandro Jiménez made a successful pro debut with a 2nd round stoppage over Derrick Pitts in a bantamweight bout.
The time of the finish was 3:00. Pitts is 0-2.
Dan Murray and Latorrie Woodberry fought to a no-contest when Woodberry hurt his shoulder in the 1st round of their scheduled four-round welterweight bout.

Baltimore, MD (Maart 12, 2018) - Jake Smith's Baltimore Boksen Promotions keert terug naar Michael's Eighth Avenue Maart 22 voor een speciaal eerbetoon gebeurtenis aan het eind van Scott Wagner.
Voorafgaand aan Smith hosting zijn kaarten op Michael's Achtste, Scott Wagner's Ballroom Boxing liep meer dan 70 succesvolle shows over een 15 periode van een jaar. Zijn serie was een grote hit en hij kenmerkte vele vechters die ging op geworden wereldkampioenen zoals Terence Crawford, Hasim Rahman, Kermit Cintron, Orlin Norris en Al Cole. Een oude vriend van Smith, Wagner gestopt bevorderen in 2009 en gracieuze bood het familiebedrijf Michael's Achtste naar Baltimore Boksen Promotions.
Op februari 16, Wagner overleed op de leeftijd van 49.

Middleweight Cem Kilic remains undefeated with 2nd round stoppage

Beverly Hills, Calif. (Maart. 12, 2018) – Middleweight Cem Kilic remained perfect with a 2nd round stoppage over veteran Taronze Washington in Hinckley, Minnesota this past Friday.
The native of Los Angles via Frankfurt, Germany put Washington down with a hard body shot, and the bout was stopped to raise Kilic’s mark to 10-0 met zes knockouts.
“Ik ben 10-0 nu, and I cant ell you how excited I am to get the early knockout in front of my adopted American fans,” zei Kilic. “Taronze was a tough opponent, but I trained too hard for this fight not to get the early knockout. 2018 is mijn jaar, and I am putting the middleweight division on notice. I trust my manager to get the opportunity to showcase my talent to the entire world.”
Kilic wordt beheerd door No Limit Mindset LLC, and CEO Shane Shapiro is extremely confident in the direct that his fighter is heading.
